HOW GOOD IS MICHELIN THAILAND? 🇹🇭 Michelin vs Local Street Food Showdown!
MICHELIN STREET FOOD VS BANGKOK LEGENDS 🇹🇭
Thank you as always to Diggy from @danny_and_diggy for helping me eat, get over and follow now!
Bangkok’s Chinatown is packed with legendary street food — but does a Michelin recommendation really mean it’s the best? Today we’re hitting three stalls with Michelin recognition… then diving into two local legends that don’t need awards to prove their worth.
We start with the iconic Nai Ek Roll Noodles, known for its peppery guay jub and crispy pork belly. Then it’s over to Nai Mong, where the pan fried oyster pancake is the stuff of legend! . For something sweet, we stop by Patongko Savoey, serving golden Thai doughnuts with a rich pandan custard dip — undefeated in our books.
After that, we head into the world of true local favourites — first at Texas Hoi Thod, slinging smoky oyster omelettes to a loyal crowd, and finally Mae Ari, where the guay jub is bold, peppery, and absolutely packed with flavour.
Michelin stars vs pure street flavour — which wins?
Stop 1: Nai Ek – legendary guay jub with Michelin cred
Stop 2: Nai Mong – charcoal-fried crab omelette classic
Stop 3: Patongko Savoey – the ultimate Thai doughnuts with pandan dip
Stop 4: Texas Hoi Thod – smoky oyster omelettes, local-style
Stop 5: Mae Ari – Chinatown’s boldest bowl of guay jub
Let’s go eat.
