The Secret Village Time Forgot | Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne France 4K Walking Tour
Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne sits peacefully on a gentle bend of the Corrèze River, nestled deep within France. It truly is a secret village forgotten by time. On this 4K walking tour, we'll explore this hidden gem, once called "beautiful" by an archbishop a millennium ago, a medieval village with warm cobblestone streets, quiet avenues, and an incredible history.
The old town developed around a Benedictine monastery from 860 AD, once a stop on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. We'll pass the 12th-century St. Pierre Abbey Church with its exquisitely carved stone gateway before following the ancient streets toward the tranquil river. The river still waits as it did before.
We are Michelle and Charlie. Living with chronic pain has taught us the value of slowing down, so we've rebuilt our lives with cameras in hand, seeking out quieter corners of Europe. We share our actual destinations calmly and sincerely, giving you a little space to relax.
P.S. Please watch on a 4K TV and turn on subtitles (CC). The history hidden within the subtitles adds a wonderful layer of meaning to this walking tour.
