Zach Roloff’s Kids Are Growing Up So Fast

Today we're talking about something absolutely adorable and heartwarming. Zach Roloff and his three beautiful children. If you've been following Little People, Big World, you know this family is absolutely precious. And honestly, the way Zach and Tori parent their kids is giving me all the feels. Let's talk about Zach Roloff. He's a proud father to his three kids, Jackson, Lila, and Josiah. The Little People, Big World star shares his two sons and daughter with his wife, Tori Roloff, whom he married back in July 2015. Beyond showing their romance on screen, the couple have also shared so many precious milestones with their children. And honestly, watching their family grow has been beautiful. Zach and Tori's first child, Jackson Kyle, was born in 2017, and their second, Lila Ray, followed in 2019. Then, around the time Lila started talking, the pair welcomed their third child, Josiah Luke, in 2022. So they've got three kids under seven years old. Can you imagine the chaos and the joy in that household? During a 2020 episode of the long-running TLC series, Zach opened up about fatherhood in the most beautiful way. Tori was heading out for a spa day with her friends, which, honestly, every mom deserves, and asked her husband if he would be okay with caring for the children alone. Zach not only encouraged his wife, but also shared why it was so important for him to spend quality time with his kids. It's not babysitting. You're the dad. Take some responsibility, he said. Can we just appreciate that for a moment? A dad, recognizing that caring for your own children isn't babysitting. It's called parenting, he continued. Moms bring something special to the table. So do dads. I love this perspective. Both parents have unique contributions to make, and Zach, recognizing his important role in his children's lives is absolutely beautiful. Now, here's something really important to understand about the Roloff kids. Like Zach, all three of their children were born with achondroplasia, which is the most common form of short-limbed dwarfism. During a 2021 Instagram story Q&A, Tori, who does not have the condition herself, opened up about their kids, dwarfism in the most beautiful way. Someone asked if she wishes she could raise a child who doesn't have dwarfism. And you guys, Tori's response was perfect. Absolutely not, Tori wrote. I'm obsessed with the three kids God gave me, and I'd have it no other way. Quote, the way she capitalized, obsessed. You can just feel the love and pride she has for her children exactly as they are. This is what unconditional love looks like. And honestly, it's beautiful to see. From their sibling bond to their favorite family activities, let me tell you everything about Zach Roloff's kids. Zach and Tori's oldest child, Jackson, was born on May 12th, 2017. Baby and mother are doing great, and Jackson is already mastered holding daddy's fingers and snuggling with mom. He is adorable, and Tori and I are loving being parents. Zach said in their birth announcement, how sweet is that? Shortly after Jackson's birth, Zach opened up to People about his son's dwarfism, saying that there was nothing he wouldn't do for his son. You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two, he explained at the time. But then he added something really important. But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it. I love this approach. He's acknowledging that Jackson will face challenges, but he's also not going to coddle him or treat him like he's fragile. He's raising Jackson to be strong and resilient. In 2021, Jackson underwent surgery to correct the bowing in his legs. This kid time and time again blows us away. He was so brave and confident. He made it to Roloff 0-7, and I so proud as he talked with the doctors and nurses and was wheeled away without worry, Tory wrote in an Instagram post following her son's operation. Can you imagine being that brave at such a young age? Jackson is honestly a little warrior, and the pride in Tory's words is absolutely beautiful. In addition to starring in the TLC series, Zach is also a soccer coach, so it's no wonder that Jackson has already picked up an interest in the sport. I love playing soccer with my daddy, Jackson said during a confessional in a 2022 episode. Later, he added that his favorite thing about playing soccer is scoring goals. How adorable is that? Zach explained that they were gearing up for Jackson's debut at a Little People of America convention in Washington. Jackson's going to play in the soccer tournament in DAAA for the first time, he said, referring to the Dwarves Athletic Association of America. So Jackson is getting to participate in sports with other kids who have dwarfism, which is so important for building community and confidence. In an Instagram post to honor one of Jackson's 2023 soccer games, Tory noted something really important. Their son was beginning to notice his dwarfism, with his peers asking why he was so small. This is such a difficult moment for any parent, but Tory's response was absolutely beautiful. I want him to know he's different, but maybe not in the way he thinks he is. I pray you see your differences and use them to change the world. You are different, kid. Different than any kid I've ever met. You are one of a kind and I am so stinking proud to be your mom. I'm literally getting emotional reading that. Instead of trying to pretend Jackson isn't different or making him feel bad about being different, Tory is teaching him that his differences make him special and that he can use them to make a positive impact. That's powerful parenting right there. Lila Rae Roloff, 6 years old, Zach and Tory's middle child and only daughter Lila, arrived on November 19th, 2019. Zach and I are so excited to introduce you to our sweet baby girl Lila. She has been the perfect addition to our family, Tory told People at the time. During a 2022 episode of Little People, Big World, the proud parents revealed that their then two-year-old daughter had started talking. There's Mama, Dada, Jackson, Lila, Dog Dog, Tory shared, while Zach noted that Lila only says that stuff when we ask her. The fact that she can say her own name is so cute. The couple also gave an update on Lila's health, explaining that as well as being born with achondroplasia, their daughter has strabismus, a condition where the eyes point in different directions. So Lila is dealing with two medical conditions, but from everything we see, she's such a happy, thriving little girl. Zach has a close bond with his only daughter, which Tory spoke about in 2022. Lila was having trouble sleeping one night, so her dad stepped in to console her. Snapping a cute photo of the father and daughter, Tory showed the two fast asleep beside each other. Best dad ever, Tory gushed over her husband on her Instagram story. Daddy just laid down with her and never got back up. That is so sweet. Zach fell asleep cuddling his daughter because that's what she needed. That's what good dads do. To mark Lila's fourth birthday in November 2023, Tory posted a sweet tribute on Instagram. You are so special to our family. You are sweet, loving, and hilarious. You are the best little sister and big sister. You have grown so much this year with your confidence and being independent. The pride and love just radiates from every word. On a May 2024 episode of their podcast Raising Heights with Zach and Tory, the couple shared that Lila would be undergoing surgery. Tory admitted she was nervous that coming out of anesthesia could be rough for Lila like it was for Jackson when he had surgery. Lila has severe sleep apnea, and so they're gonna take her tonsils and adenoids out, which I am a little nervous about, she said. Sleep apnea is serious, especially in young children, so getting those tonsils and adenoids out will hopefully help Lila breathe better and sleep better. Zach and Tory welcomed their youngest child, Josiah, on April 30th, 2022. The couple were expecting some sibling rivalry after the birth of Josiah, but Tory was more than happy to confirm that Jackson and Lila welcomed their baby brother with open arms. "'We were preparing ourselves for jealous moments, or for things to kind of go awry every once in a while,' Tory told People. But they literally haven't. They've both been so affectionate and just in love with Josiah, and it's been so much fun to watch." How amazing is that? Instead of being jealous of the new baby, Jackson and Lila just fell completely in love with their little brother. That speaks to how Zach and Tory prepared them for Josiah's arrival. Tory said the older kids were also helpful with their little brother, who was born three weeks premature. "'They are slightly obsessed with him, and it's adorable,' she said. They're just both very concerned about where he is, what he is doing. They take turns feeding him the bottle and want to bring him blankies and binkies." The image of Jackson and Lila taking turns feeding baby Josiah is absolutely melting my heart. These kids clearly have such a beautiful sibling bond. A few months after Josiah's arrival, the couple were taken aback by how alike he and Jackson looked at a similar age. "'I'm pretty sure I birthed the same child twice,' Tory joked as she posted photos of both of her boys, showing off their similar blue eyes and facial features." Genetics are wild, you guys. When Josiah celebrated his first birthday in April 2023, Tory listed some of his milestones in a tribute post. "'You are the sweet guy ever. You are always so happy and love watching your family. You are on the move and ready for any adventure. You love eating and bath time, and I love how obsessed you are with your siblings.' Their celebrations included a Western-themed birthday party coined Josiah's First Rodeo. In a video posted on Tory's Instagram, the tot giggled while enjoying a cow-printed birthday cake. What I love most about Zach and Tory's approach to parenting is how they balance acknowledging their children's challenges while also celebrating who they are. They're not pretending dwarfism doesn't present obstacles, but they're also not defining their kids by it. They're raising confident, loved, happy children who happen to have dwarfism. And the sibling bond between Jackson, Lila, and Josiah is absolutely beautiful. These three clearly adore each other, and watching them grow up together on the show has been such a joy.
