The Osireion sits behind the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, Egypt. In 1903, Edouard Naville excavated it and concluded it predated dynastic Egypt entirely. Margaret Murray agreed. Both were overruled in the 1920s when Henri Frankfort attributed it to Seti I. The structure uses 100-ton granite blocks fitted without mortar. The architectural style matches the Valley Temple at Giza — not the 19th Dynasty. The doorways are oversized. The proportions suggest occupants taller than any documented Egyptian population. The inscriptions were carved onto surfaces not designed to receive them. Seti I did not build the Osireion. He inherited it.
