The Bonnell 775 MX is a premium high-performance electric bike that combines the discreet look of a mountain bike with the power of an e-moto. Featuring a 6,000W motor and a lightweight frame, it offers a \"stealth\" experience, allowing riders to access trails and streets with agility and speed while avoiding the attention typically drawn by full-sized electric dirt bikes.
A new class of bike is born. A bike that looks legal, even though the legal power limit is 750
watts and this is 6,000 watts. There's no denying that police in the U.S., U.K., Australia,
basically everywhere, are cracking down on e-motos riding in the street and riding in the trails.
They're looking for Surrans, e-Ripros, Tolarias, even Tudios, anything that looks like a dirt
saying, oh, it's electric. It's not an excuse anymore. And trust me, I miss those days.
This may be the cheat code, a bike that looks totally legal, but it's really a wolf in sheep's
skin because not only is it 6,000 watts, but it's 6,000 watts on a mountain bike.
6,000 watts on a Surran is already enough to get you in trouble. Now put that same power
into a bike that's five times lighter. Assembling the bike, I can tell why it's the price of an
E-Ride Pro 3.0. The components are legit all around. I can't see any corners being cut.
You can see inside the motor like a nice watch. The copper windings are on display,
but what really steals the show is this ingenious design where they mounted the pegs on a lever
system that connects to the wheel. So if you do what they call pedal, then the wheel spins without
the motor. It sounds exhausting and futile. I don't expect to do much of this so-called pedaling,
but it's a neat idea, I guess. Got some minty maxis on the front and rear. Magura MT5s with
the floating rotors on the rear and front. These are brakes that lasted me a while on my Surran.
So on this much lighter bike, they should be plenty. At your thumb, you have the drop post,
which lets you pop the seat up. And then if you put weight on it, it will come back down. On the
left, we also have a mode selector and a power button. On the right, we just have the front brake
and a very low profile, full twist throttle. You can hardly tell it's there, but it twists like a
dirt bike. F*** a thumb throttle. The display is tucked in the center. You get three screen layouts.
One of them reads your heart rate somehow. The setting screen is simple and it's where you pop
this puppy into race mode. There's real carbon fiber all under the belly of this bike and where
it says the model name 775 MX. This is a medium frame. The respectable 65 volt 20 amp hour battery
fills all the available space within the frame, which powers the CYC motor. You may recognize CYC
from my mountain bike build video, which generated so much excitement for a high powered electric
mountain bike that they made this bike in its image just way better in every way and way more
powerful. The CYC motor powers two chains with no gearing system, so there's only one rear sprocket.
Forks like this that go up to the bars. These are a little too high. I'll adjust them down.
Our triple crown forks, which look the best by far of any bike suspension. They give this bike
its aggressive downhill look. So mean. The rear shock is robust. The linkage wraps around the
frame and we have three quick settings for open, middle, and locked. I actually got both colors, the
Texas gray and the purple amethyst. It's just too easy to order on Ronster Rides. This is a testing
video, but now that I'm narrating from the future, I can tell you these Bonnell 775 MXs are officially
available on RonsterRides.com, where I have priority inventory and a five-star rated service
team. But why would you ever order from Ronster Rides if you haven't even seen the bike ride yet?
My buddy Tim is coming to test these with me. He knows way more about bikes than I do.
Looks pretty nimble. Dude, the thing feels so good. This was me pumping it to what they mentioned.
Yeah! It feels super good. It just looks cool too. I don't know. They match the truck nice.
I'm gonna try this out without even turning it on. We're just in bicycle mode.
Pop the seat up. I'm down here. Now I'm up here. Now I'm back down here. I'm back up here. I'm back
down here. Okay. So light, dude. For how much power you're pushing, sir on power. Thank you,
bro. You're the man. I'm a good cameraman, bro. So I'll show you how to turn yours on since you
don't have the display to help you. The battery needs to be on. Hold this for like two, two,
three seconds. And then it starts in mode zero, which is no assist. And there's three modes. So
I would just go one, two, three. Yeah. Oh, well, it's got really sensitive pedal assist. You pedal
at all. It starts kicking in. I'm not going to do a lot of pedaling though. Having a full twist
throttle on a mountain bike is trippy. There's so many mountain bikes out here. I love that
we blend in like this, dude. We're so discreet. Just ride past everybody. Tim is an X-Games
dirt bike champion. So seeing him on a mountain bike's blowing my mind, but this is like a dirt
bike mountain bike. So I feel like he's in his element. Thank you, boss. Look at that passing
power, dude. This thing's awesome. And we're on a trail where it's only mountain bikes and it's,
like I was saying, it's Karen Central. So far so good. No one bats an eye.
Bro, first wheelie on this thing. Oh my God. I mean, this is the dream. This is the dream we
all have when we're kids riding bikes. It's like, man, I wish there was just a twist throttle on
this thing. I know, I know I made motorcycle noises every time I rode a bike, pretending
it had a throttle. Now I don't need to pretend. And I actually really liked the little whine it
makes on the throttle. Okay. It limits you at 30 miles an hour. And you can feel it. Like it gives
you so much power up until 30. And then it totally gives out. I know it has more. If I wanted to
tune this, I could get more power out of it, but I don't think it needs it at all.
It feels like I'm riding a Siron if you just deleted 90% of it and you just left the soul.
Yeah. Those bikes are so light. You can just throw it over stuff.
I can't keep up with Tim. He's too fast. You literally get the power of a Siron, six kilowatts
in the frame and function of a mountain bike, a nice mountain bike too. And a nice mountain bike,
man, those can be expensive. Tim up here, he's got an $18,000 mountain bike and it doesn't even
have a motor. Mountain bikes get really expensive. So 5,500 for this with the motor and everything
is a deal. And you can ride places like this where they hate Sirons. They never want to see
them here. And having the seat adjustments really nice. Cause when you're going downhill,
put the seat down or you're going uphill, you put the seat up. And because there's only one
sprocket in the rear, you can adjust that sprocket. You can make it smaller for a higher top speed or
bigger for more torque. I'm pretty happy with how they set this up. This is pedal bike speed right
here. We're following the pace of a pedal bike. So slow. They're sick. Yes, dude. So fun. They
are fun. I haven't had this much fun on a bike in a minute. So nimble. And like you can control it
just like a regular mountain bike. And I love the weight. I like more weight, all carbon mountain
bikes with no batteries. When you jump and do ----, like the bike gets stuck and then your body's
waiting for it to come back. Where these just the center gravity like helps the bikes come back
under you. What do you think about the power? It's perfect for what we're doing. I can't
believe it's climbing up these hills that fast too. Like it's getting up the hills really good
and everything about it is like just smooth and consistent. I've never gone to hit the throttle
and it's not there. Yes. I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I am. This is definitely the most
fun I've had on a pedal bike. Cause you get all the joy of a lightweight mountain bike,
then all the joy of a moto at your throttle. It's just perfect. It's so cool.
We're going uphill on a mountain bike at this speed. It's crazy. If I was on an E-Ride Pro 3.0
right now, which is my favorite lightweight E-Moto, I wouldn't be going any faster. If anything,
I'd be going slower. Cause of course you'd compare this to the E-Ride Pro 3.0. They're
the same price. You might be asking, why would I spend 5,500 on a mountain bike?
If I could spend 5,500 on an E-Ride Pro 3.0. Oh, E-Moto. Oh my God.
I wonder how much battery I'm at. 83%. Not bad. So let me see if they can even get up this section
by pedaling. Hey, have a great ride gentlemen. Yeah, let's get it. Nothing, nothing. Thank you
boss. Thank you. Oh my God. No way I would have pedaled up that. No one's pedaling up that.
Full throttle, here we go. Is my bike faster than yours? I'm sure. Let's try. Here, switch.
The purple bike's display got damaged on delivery, which is fine. I have a replacement coming,
but that means we couldn't get it into race mode, which is how you fully unlock the power.
Dude, holy ----. This thing works. Now I'm going to have to get one of these things.
I know. It's so fun. I got to have one in the collection.
It's its own category. They like invented their own category.
I just wonder if, cause that's plugged into that throttle and ----.
Now spin your wheel for me. See if it works. Oh, that moved my bike. I'm so confused now.
Who's who? It needs to be your display or my display to your throttle. Now we had it right.
It's fast enough. Well, no, but I want to get you into the, bro. I can't believe actually you're
doing that in the normal mode. It gets way faster in the race mode. So yours is last.
Still so good. It's crazy.
It's not a Seron, but it has the power of a Seron.
It's almost like a mountain bike. It is exactly what it's like.
Yeah. Go easy on the throttle. Okay. This is your throttle.
These seem more rugged.
This is our first day out on these bikes. We're usually on like the Serons and stuff like that,
but we wanted to get something that we could enjoy the mountain bike trails without
frustrating everybody. He's the man behind it all. This dude knows so much about all this stuff.
That is a stronger response than I've ever, ever seen from riding a Seron. Oh my God.
We're going up. We're going up. So he's in street mode. He has to pedal. I'm in race mode. I'm going
right up. Yeah. I wish you were taking full advantage of the power. Damn display. The
display's coming on Monday. The replacement. Oh flat. Damn. This is easily, easily top three
favorite bikes of mine right now. I know, dude. I want that one so bad right there.
This color too. Cause it matches your truck. So when you get them, let me know how much
I'll let you know, dude. Robster rides. I mean, think about it. It's like you get everything
you want from a mountain bike. You get everything you want from a Seron
and none of the bad stuff of either. You don't have to pedal. You're not getting in trouble.
What more do you want than this? And then you and I can go ride together. Cause if you have a bike
like this, you you're not riding with Serons. You're not riding with pedal bikes. You can kind
of only ride with people on the same bike. It's in its own class. It's got me thinking like if
this bike was out when I was buying my first bike, I was, my only choices were Seron or,
Oh, this is the end of the trail. My only choices at the time were Seron and the Kuberg free ride,
which you never see anymore. If this was a choice, I guess it's more expensive than the Seron is.
So maybe I still would have gone with the Seron just because it's cheaper, but this is what I
was looking for. I wanted something that was discreet. Didn't quite look like a moto, but has
the power to do what I'm doing right now. They're not out here trying to replace dirt bikes. They're
not here trying to replace mountain bikes. They're not trying to replace Serons. They're making their
own bike in an industry that's been around for this long to come out with something that really
stands on its own. And this is the first of its kind, but this is so fun. This is so fun.
The power is unreal and it hits jumps like nothing. It just takes off. Cause the thing
weighs like 30 pounds and any kid that's ever ridden a bike has, has wished, man,
I wish there was a throttle right here, especially when you're going uphill.
So this, I've definitely dreamed about that. This feels like a dream.
It's like exactly what I would have expected it or hoped for it to feel like.
Yes. Have a great ride. Oh, I just hit a bird.
I never ride mountain bikes, but I feel good on this thing. He's hitting the tree, bro. It's crazy.
Hey, getting a flat sucks, but at least you don't have to pedal.
It's way better. Just cruise it back to Lauria.
Nah, what's up guys?
Yeah, absolutely.
Fire bro. Nice meeting you guys.
I've never been so unafraid riding past the police on a six kilowatt bike.
What's up brother? Hey man, don't want to interrupt. Is it all right if I ride right
behind you? You don't have to move. Thanks man. I appreciate it. Me and my homies do
not with the D O T until they legalize Saron's. This one's for you.
I do wonder though, like how long can you abuse a bike like this
with so much power before like the wheels fall apart or the brakes?
Cause they're just not meant for it, but they put a lot of money into this bike.
It's not a budget bike at all. I'm trying to see if they can make a budget version,
but right now it's only the premium stuff. I don't like how just a little bit of pressure
on the pedals kicks in the motor. Cause it's like, I'm not using the pedals. They just get
in the way. Like at a red light, I accidentally put pressure on the pedal and then the bike
wants to run away. I wish you could keep it on just throttle mode. No pedal.
I got the seat really high up right now, which makes the balance point super low.
And it just couldn't be easier to wheelie. Like if you're trying to learn how to wheelie,
put your seat up high on a Bonnell. I just don't like the name. It should be called,
I'm putting the seat back down. It should be called Bonnell Lee. Bonnell has Bonnell,
like what kind of, it doesn't have any ring to it. The bike's amazing. They got to work on the name.
Damn. I love wheeling pedal bikes. It's one of my favorite bikes to wheelie is a pedal bike.
Not because you're pedaling, but because it just is light and it's a nice balance point.
And you feel like you have the most control over the bike because it's, it weighs nothing.
So then to have the feeling of a pedal bike with the power of a Surin and not having to break a
There's no way I'm getting in trouble on this thing. There's no way
you were good on it. I'm actually shocked. You haven't wheelied it yet.
It's like the easiest bike to wheelie. He's going straight for it.
Yeah. Better than why does it feel like it wants to move on its own?
Oh my God. It's like going. Oh, look at that throttle. That's why
yeah. You busted your throttle, dude. It's on cruise control.
No wheel spin. That's crazy. Oh my God. Damn. Oh my God. I've never seen this before.
Oh, we got a race. We got a race. What battery are you at? I'm at 50. It's not even a fair race.
The RTR is $2,500 less than this bike. It goes over 50 miles an hour. So it's 20 miles per hour,
faster than this bike. So I know it's going to win the race, but I think off the line,
they might be close. Three, two, one go. All right. That's eight kilowatts for six kilowatts,
$3,200. I guess it's a little bit more after the terrorists versus $5,500,
totally different bikes. I'm not comparing them, but there's the drag race. I'm also
half a battery. I don't want to waste the tire. I'm trying to keep riding this first try.
All right. We're getting kicked out. Yeah. Thanks man. You want to try it? Come on, bro. Hey,
watch out. There's a throttle. No, no, you're good. You're good. You might hit the throttle.
That's exactly how fast it goes. Good guess. It has, it has power to go faster,
but they limit it at 30. This is more for the dirt. Yeah. It's technically not allowed in the
street. Have a great day, man. Some jumps right here. It's okay. There's nobody there. Maybe I'll
pedal. No, but that's how you're supposed to pedal. This is the gear ratio when you're going
half of its speed. I'm going, all right, I'm going 19 miles an hour and I have to pedal like this.
That's ridiculous. I don't think they expect anybody to be pedaling.
Dude, my butt, this thing's not meant to be sat on for extended periods.
You got a little seat for my big old butt.
Let's go rolling burner on the RTR. Look at this thing. I know it's not a Siron,
but tell me this just doesn't like look cool. I need to tighten this. Dude, just coasting the
break. That's why it feels so good to ride pedal bikes. I know I could do this on a full charge.
So this is a test to see if I can do it on 45%. Oh man. That's crazy. It's too easy.
What was that boss? Yeah. I've seen that before. Hell yeah. Yeah. It's electric easily. Top,
top three favorite bikes of all time is this bike. It's like the best of everything. It's light
and powerful. It wheelies and it off-roads and you don't get in trouble. What more do you want?
But then the RTR definitely would handle better like on a track or power thousands of dollars
less expensive. You can get both of them on Ross ride. I haven't been this excited about a new bike
in a very long time. It's the perfect bike. You get that mountain bike factor, you get that Siron
snap. This thing climbs hills like they're nothing. It serves face. It's got a nice balance point. It
hits the trails better than anything. And nobody's batting an eye so you can ride this anywhere. I
don't know how much more you could ask for. So I'm putting it on Ronster rides. That's my website.
I put all my favorite bikes on there where you can order one for yourself. As always,
thank you so much for watching until the end.
