Antique Shopping for the PERFECT Vintage Furniture Piece

Okay, today we are taking a break from working on the hallway, but we are going to look for a furniture piece to go at the end of the hall. I just want to see if I can find something different since I'm about to have that an empty space, and y'all know we're gonna check out some decor and all that while we're in here too, so let's go. Now this piece right off the bat is very pretty. Let's see how much this is, and I definitely want something with storage. $2.75. I'm looking for something beautiful, antique, but also with storage. Hi, how are you? I sure will, thank you. All right, let's just, well, I don't know how much furniture this one actually has because I haven't been in here in a while. The last couple antique stores we've been to had a pretty good amount of furniture, but we're gonna see. This one's $1.95, but I kind of want something bigger than that. Let's look in here and see. I'm gonna try not to look at a lot of small stuff, but the blue is already catching my attention. Isn't that pretty? It's $14.95, please let me be correct. Look at this butter dish I just found. Oh my goodness. Isn't that beautiful? We're not shopping for butter dishes, but that is so pretty. Oh, it's $65. It's gonna stay pretty right there, and I just spotted this. I think the last one I saw was $10 too. I really like that though. I may come back and get it. We'll see what I decide. I mean, I may come back before we leave today and get it. Y'all just stay tuned. We'll see what I decide to do. This secretary desk is really pretty too. It has some shelves. It has this. It's $195. Get off that candle holder. Yeah, that's really pretty. I just don't know that it has enough storage for me though. I would really love to find a working grandfather clock, but this one's $300. Isn't that beautiful? There's the tag. Now this is a cute big old booth in here. It has several furniture pieces, but I just don't know. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Look at this suitcase though, because I've been collecting them lately. How much are you? $25. That's really not bad considering how beautiful the color is. Oh, who did that? Why did you put that big old ugly sticker on it? I do love the color of this because it would go with the colors of the two that I have so far. What is that? And it's a Samsonite, so the other ones that I have are Samsonites. Also, it's a 1950s. Even this cabinet's pretty. Look at all those pipes. I bet the cabinet's not for sale though, but it's really pretty. This is a pretty little piece, but it's a little more mid-century modern. Kind of not my style. It is vinyl record. That's why. Oh gosh, Elizabeth would love that. I don't know how to get that open. Oh, I don't want to tear something up. Yeah, she loves records. She'd like that. So the problem I'm running into is there's just not a lot of big furniture for sale in places like this because most of their furniture's being used to hold stuff, but we're gonna keep looking. Wow, look at that big old picture. It's $100, but it's gorgeous. Yeah, $100. And then this dresser's pretty. $250. I like that it has four drawers. I like that one. It would fit. It's on rollers. It's the right color wood. It's pretty, but we're gonna keep looking. And look at this basket. Um, 42, but that's gorgeous. Look at that wood part in there. 18. That would have been perfect at Valentine's Day. Oh, and then I just spotted this. $20. Salt glazed crog. That's beautiful. I like that. It's a 150 firm, but it's so short. Like, maybe that's a washstand or something, but that's cute too. It's got the mirror. I want to see how much these are because I just picked some up at a garage sale. Y'all haven't seen that yet. I paid a dollar for all four of mine. Those are 10. Just making sure I got a good deal. Sorry, that got a fan going, but look at this cabinet. I'm wondering if something like this would work, but man, it sure does go back far, but it would be good storage. Wow. Yeah, it's big. How much are you? Definitely a contender. $50? What? This is broke. That's probably why it's not staying closed, but can y'all see that? I don't know. I found the blue and white shelf. Aren't these pretty? I love these. I think this is salt and pepper shakers. I think they would be too big for my cabinet, but aren't they so cute? A one of two. Royal Staff. What does it say? Staffordshire. How much are y'all? It don't say, does it? Am I losing my mind? Maybe this is a whole set. Maybe they're not selling them. We have to buy the whole set, I guess. Let's see. What does this one say? No, that one has a price. Now look at this. That's what I'm talking about. That's the kind of cabinet I need. How much are you? $300, but wow, that's pretty. Look at that. It's like a wardrobe, I guess. What does it say? I don't like the etching on this, but it still holds lots of storage. That's what I like, and I really like these braided rugs. Well, that would be pretty for 4th of July type stuff and Memorial Day, and y'all know I'm obsessed with like the little things like for kids and dolls and stuff. Look at this little desk. Isn't that the sweetest? It's a little rule top desk for kids. How much are you? $95. That's adorable, and this piece is also pretty, but I don't know. It just it's too fancy looking for me, I think. I don't like these here in the hardware. $175 though. That's not bad because that is a beautiful piece. I just don't feel like it fits my style very well. Oh, thank goodness. It's a little quieter over here. There's no fans, and there's no music. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, this is adorable. I also just got something very similar to this at a garage sale, and I wasn't sure what it was, but I just loved how it looked. What is this? It says, it doesn't say like, is it a Bonnie Kids? I don't know, but mine looks different, but it's very similar, but this piece back here is really pretty. Saved 25% off anything over $10. Excludes a firm, but that's a pretty piece. I feel like somebody maybe put these knobs on there, and they're not original to it, but I'm curious how much this is. I just don't think it would hold enough for me, like storage-wise. $225. That's kind of a fun little piece, too. Not sure what that was. I mean, like, what is it originally? $195, and it says Secretary Oak. Okay, so it's like a secretary desk, I see. Okay, I see now. Now, this piece is $149, and I like this. That's just something hanging off the other side, but look at this, y'all. There's people all around me, so I'm kind of whispering. Good storage. How's it drawer? That's pretty. This cabinet I got at a garage sale for $10. That's pretty. Look at this baby picnic basket. Oh my goodness, and love, and like a salt something. That's adorable, and I love this, too. That's pretty. Little red box. Okay, I did not find anything that I love there, so we're heading into Salvation Army, and they're having some kind of party over here in their parking lot, so let's go see if there's anything left in the thrift store. Maybe they're all busy playing these games, and nobody's buying up all my stuff, so let's go see if we can find a piece of furniture in here. Okay, y'all, never mind on that. I went out and tried to go in, and the door is locked, so whatever event they have going on out in their parking lot, they must be closed down for all of that. I don't know if it was a lot of their workers or what was going on, so we're gonna head across the street here to one of my local Goodwills and see if they have any furniture. They really haven't been having furniture at all in my local Goodwills, so we'll see. We're gonna ride over there and just see what they got anyway, so let's go. So, I do end up going over to Goodwill and going shopping. I'm gonna share that video with y'all tomorrow, so that allows me a little more time to finish up some stuff in the hallway. Now, I want to show you the piece that I'm thinking about using at the end of the hallway if I just can't find anything else to work, and it is this piece right here that sits in the corner of my living room. This little brown hutch I got at a little mom-and-pop shop thrift store several years ago. I really do love it, and it looks really good over here in this corner, but if I rearrange the living room furniture, this is not going to work right here unless I turn it the other way, and if I turn it the other way, it's going to get in the of my door. So, anyway, that's why I'm thinking about using this piece at the end of the hall. That's the piece that I'm thinking about using at the end of my hall because it has the three drawers. I can put some more family pictures on the hutch part of it and just really decorate it pretty with family photos, and it'll kind of play off of the photo reel that I'm doing in the hallway as well.
