Most people drive straight past Les Arcs. It sits above the road, above the vineyards, above the modern town: a hidden medieval village of stone lanes, arched passages, and 900-year-old towers that has been quietly waiting in the south of France all along.

In this walk, we explore Le Parage, the ancient quarter of Les Arcs, where the name once referred to the noble part of the village. The route takes us through narrow cobblestone streets and vaulted stone passages, past carved doors and ivy-draped walls, up toward the 12th-century Tour Sarrasine rising above the rooftops. We also pass the historic clock tower, old village squares, views across the vineyards, and the remains of Les Arcs' working past, where water still moves through old stone.

This is one of those French villages that does not announce itself loudly. It simply waits above the road, full of history, texture, and quiet beauty.

We are Michelle and Charlie. Living with chronic pain and fatigue taught us the profound value of slowing down, so we rebuilt our lives with a camera in hand to seek out the quieter corners of Europe. We film these walks to share real destinations in a calm, honest way, offering you a little breathing room, because quiet beauty is always worth the journey.

Have you ever heard of Les Arcs before this walk? If you could pause anywhere in this village, would you choose the ancient Saracen tower, the stone passages, the ivy and star jasmine covered medieval homes, or a quiet square looking out across the vineyards? Let us know in the comments. 👇

P.S. For the full experience, watch this on a 4K TV screen and turn on subtitles (CC) in your preferred language. The medieval details in the captions add another layer to this beautiful walk.
