I Hand Crafted Chairs Using Only Bamboo (No Nails, No Screws)
"Bamboo Shadows Sway, Watching the Years Pass Away."
"Bamboo shadows sway, I sit and watch the years pass by."
In the mountains, furniture isn't just something we use; it is a conversation with the forest. While modern chairs are held together by cold metal and glue, the traditional bamboo chair relies on the ancient strength of the earth and the transformative power of fire.
In today's video, I am crafting a piece of heritage for my wife-a seat for the quiet moments in our garden. From selecting five-year-old high-quality bamboo to the delicate, rhythmic art of fire-bending, every step is a lesson in patience. Using traditional mortise and tenon joints (榫卯), I have built this chair to withstand the seasons, ensuring that the only thing it carries is the comfort of home.
