You see our beautiful and tiny cottage for the weekend in Dorset in the south of England and
it makes me smile so much because it reminds me of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It has this
sweet story-like feeling about it and I just expect the Seven Dwarfs to live there. Right,
let me take you inside. While Jörg is relaxing in the glorious sunshine,
I'm going to take you inside. So we have two floors here and on the ground floor we have a
huge four-poster bed and because we are so close to the coast, to me you feel a little bit like
in a ship's cabin. Also, I mean, we have this wonderful painting and then these
small lights. As you can see, it's not big. There's a small desk but look here,
we have a log burner. I mean, this here is so cozy. Also, see this light here,
it's like in a ship. So here on the right is a small toilet. Let me turn on the light.
You will probably hear the fan. Let me try to film this as best as I can. So actually,
you know what? It's not that small. So there's a toilet. I mean, even the sink
has a decent size and I do love the exposed brick in here. This is so cozy,
really really cozy and quirky. I also really love these windows here. I think they just
make everything so incredibly charming. I really love the fabric in here as well,
which is from a British brand. I will just insert it on the screen and this here is called
Squirrel and Sunflower. Really really lovely. See, we even have like a flagstone floor.
Beautiful. And then here on this floor, I love this room. It's such a beautiful bathroom with
an amazing cast iron roll top bath. It's so warm and I don't know, it's big and cozy.
I love this wooden floor in combination with an antique rug. By the way, there's another
lock burner. I mean, this room is just incredible. It's full of light. We have plenty of storage for
clothes. I mean, just look at this. The height of the ceiling makes this room so spacious.
Then here around the corner, there's a big walk-in shower. Do I need to switch on the light?
There is light of course. I just don't want to switch it on because of the fan. So
well, you can see it's big. It's very nice. So the squirrel and sunflower fabric is throughout
the cottage. The best bit is probably the view. I mean, the weather today is simply amazing but
look at the view. Check it out. It doesn't get any better. And from the next window,
you have a glorious view into the kitchen garden. As you can see, we don't have a kitchen here in
the lookout which is the name for the tiny cottage. Used to be a dovecote back in the day
and it's part of the Pig on the Beach Hotel here in Dorset but feels completely separate. You feel
like as if you stepped into a fairy tale. I think if someone can draw which unfortunately I can't
and that person draws fairytale characters, fairytale houses slash cottages, they would come
up with something like this in their minds and then I always tend to think places like this
don't exist but then you see they do. Unreal. There's there's a very fresh breeze but I love it.
We are on our way to the beach hut because the lookout, the tiny tiny cottage comes with a beach
hut and we want to have a look. I'm really excited. Just look at this. It's gorgeous.
It's a very windy day but I don't mind whatsoever. Okay, the beach hut is very hidden away.
It's getting more and more exciting. I feel like Robinson Crusoe. Jörg said he he disappeared,
all of a sudden he was gone but now he told me he just wanted to be a little bit quicker so he can
open up the hut. So let's see. Come on my lady or me lady. Let's see. Yeah. Oh oh that's nice.
Yeah. Look at this. Yeah. All set up for you. We have a huge union jack flag. Yes. I love this.
Very nice. And look. They are mugs. Yeah. Very nice. And crisps. Crisps.
And. Hi Paul. Yes. A cake. Wow. The best part though. Yeah, the view. And the sound,
the sound of the waves. Yes. Ah. Yeah and over there. Yeah. That's Bournemouth. We've never
been there. No. Obviously there's no electricity here. That's why we have. We brought a flask.
Hot water. There is another beach hut which is basically a cafe. Yeah. Five minutes from here.
Jörg will go there now. Yeah. I think they've got ice cream. Didn't you say you want a sausage roll?
Yeah. Probably both. Sausage roll and ice cream. So it's let's say a starter and a dessert. I mean
this is very nice. Yeah. Especially, so there are several beach huts,
there's no one else here. Very quiet. I just said I feel like Robinson Crusoe. Yeah.
Gosh, it started to rain.
Okay. Hello. Okay, what have you got there? I mean I can see it. Ice cream. I couldn't decide.
Oh that looks yummy. So I had an ice cream and a sausage roll. The ice cream. Is it,
is it caramel? Salted caramel, yeah. That looks very nice. It looks so good.
But it's melting. Yeah. And now a sausage roll. That looks good. Yeah. Mm-hmm. We just said
we would put a desk in there and then whenever you have time you could just sit on your laptop
and work and have the sound of the waves. I would put a bed in here. Or you know what? A desk and a
bed. Exactly. So you could stay at night and sleep. And then just leave the doors open and
you have this relaxing sound. Yeah. We're now in Swanage. Yes. It's only a five minute drive
from the pier. You can see it's a coastal town. Yeah. I hope it won't rain. It won't rain.
Okay, when you say it won't, it won't rain. Yeah. You can really smell the sea. Yeah, I know.
It's quite strong. It's amazing. Actually. I love it. This here, Swanage, looks quite big.
It looks bigger than expected. Yeah. You won't believe it. Jörg is like a dog with a very good
nose. He stumbled upon a cafe and said okay, let's go inside. Now that's red velvet cake with
cream cheese. Cream cheese, yes. And this here is a gluten-free chocolate orange cake. It looks
delicious. It really does. Yeah. Look. Yeah. Gorgeous colours as well. Reminds me of summer.
Yeah. Which we currently don't have here in the UK. Very nice. Was Jörg right
regarding there won't be any rain? He wasn't. Very often he is or most of the time he is but
not this time. But you know what? The sun is about to come out again so it's not bad.
This is our version of a nightcap. Yeah, it's a night walk. So we just had dinner which was
lovely. We just couldn't film, it was pretty busy. But look at the weather now. Yeah, it's wonderful
outside. You said, this afternoon you said there wouldn't be rain. Yes but the weather
isn't always listening to me. Now I find this headstone very special. Let me see. It's about
a Sergeant William Lawrence. Yes. And he fought in the Napoleon Wars. Yeah. And from in South
America, he fought in Spain and then he fought in Waterloo. Huh. That's. That's very, this guy has,
must have seen a lot. That's incredible. And then he married a French. So,
uh, can we see the name? Yeah, Clotilde Claret. That's amazing. That's really really good.
I mean. Wow. This tombstone or headstone tells his entire story. Yes. Incredible.
While walking we saw the sign, Old Harry Rocks. Yeah, one mile. And you said we should give it a
go. Yeah. We can see the formation from the hotel but being here in person. Yeah, it's just amazing
and now the sun is setting so it's really nice. It's magical. It's so peaceful and lovely. We can
really recommend it. So if you're here, you just. Yeah, do the walk. Yes, wonderful. Can you see
these small rabbits? My God, it's not running away. Hi. This looks like a baby. You are enjoying
your dinner. Good morning. Good morning. Another lovely day. Yeah, really lovely. It's time for
breakfast so let's go inside, check out the buffet. Yeah. So we both went for a full English
breakfast. Look at the eggs. So it's still morning and before we head home in the afternoon,
we decided to do a steam train ride because why not? It's always so much fun.
Good morning and welcome to anyone joining us there at Norden. This is the 10.40.
Yeah, whenever we do something like that, I have to think of Agatha Christie.
Murder on the island. Every single time.
I just hope there won't be a murder. I hope I don't. I mean. I hope. I don't get.
I'm. You're not the one. Yeah, who's gonna get killed?
Good morning. Thank you again for your patience there at Corf Castle. We just
had to wait for the locomotive to take on a bit of extra water.
And now on the way in the next station will be Harman's Cross. Thank you.
How is Scotland just three quarters of a mile from here?
There must be a big border shift. Oh yeah, oh yeah, exactly. So the Scots,
Scots has come down, the Scots came down south. Overnight. Yeah. That was nice, wasn't it? That
was an experience. I, I just love being on a train. I think it's a little bit, I don't know,
if you've just joined our channel maybe, my dad used to work for the Deutsche Bahn,
German railways. Yeah. And we did so many train rides when I was young.
And. Childhood memories. Yeah, I just love it. I find it calming. Not, not a speed train,
trains like some, I was going to say small trains, slow trains and then a steam train
reminds me of the, I don't know, old times back in the day. Yeah, I enjoyed it.
The only thing that was missing like a very nice cafe on board. Yeah. But we need to do it again
like a weekend trip or something, I would fancy that. Yeah. So we are in Corfe Castle now. Yeah.
And are in a small cafe. I ordered tea and well, look, some vintage China.
Something I always love. Now, what do you think about Dorset? I love Dorset. Yeah, it's amazing.
For me personally, it's a little bit underrated. Yeah. But being here after some years,
it reminds me how much I, we've been just talking about it as a child. I read Ennard
Blyton. Yeah. And the stories, um, they made a series on TV in English. I had to double check
because in English it's the famous five. Yeah. Und in Deutsch die fünf Freunde. Fünf Freunde. So
five friends. I was obsessed with it. And where we stayed, Stuttland. Yeah. Wasn't it Stuttland?
Um, Ennard Blyton used to holiday there and. Yeah, and I fully understand why she did that.
Yes, it inspired her. Yeah. I completely understand. Yeah. So. It's a wonderful part
of the UK. We hope you enjoyed it. And the tiny cottage, wasn't that magical? Yes, it was very
special. So thank you so much for watching and as always, we'll see you again very soon.
Until next time. Bye. Bye. Bye from Dorset.
