Lightning vs. Canadiens | NHL Playoff Highlights | Game 6 | May 01, 2026

Off we go with game six from the Bell Center. Ryan McDonough takes it back into his own end. Played it around for Eric Chernak who got crunched. Now Caden Cooley, young defenseman, feathers one around for Slavkovski. He's out there with Suzuki and Caulfield as Suzuki set one in wide. Cooley on a puck retrieval, net front, Hudson goes to it. Here's Cole Caulfield toward the net, change directions. Suzuki, 101 points in the regular season. Slavkovski through its net front. Chernak starts it out. All day long, watch parties all over the city. Here's Darren Radish with a blast! And Dobish made the stop. Comes out the other side and then the last opportunity. Big blast there by Radish, hits Dobish up in the head. Chernak plays it deep and Tampa Bay will change. Turnover! At times this year, Martin Saint-Louis has encouraged him to do more of it. Here's a turnover! Cole Caulfield off the post! And we just had a flurry for Tampa, but earlier, how about this post by Cole Caulfield? Just one in this series for him. Hagel started it out, now Kucherov moves in. Kucherov pops, shoots! Whoopsie, popped back out in behind. What a start to this one, first four minutes. On the turn, the parry! Net front, it's loose! Getzel got cleared out of there by Alex Carrier, who's done a great job stepping in on the top pair for no adoption. Stick broke on Kirby Dock, so a turnover through neutral ice. Point for Getzel. Getzel, a shot off the iron! How about that defensive play by Anthony Sorelli? Alludes him. J.J. Moser toward the net. Here's a pinch from Radish. Caulfield draped on him. Radish circles toward the net! Easily handled by Dobich. Jarred the puck free, thanks to Nick Paul. Now Deneaux, shovel to the point. Dashtu, the key toward the net. Dobich paddled the side. And every time they get it over the red line, they dump it in and change. That way they can't sustain offense themselves. Our last whistle was at 17-22! And Hagel is stopped by Dobich. Game tonight, execution. What can they bring to the table? So far, it's not been enough. Score chances so far. Three, two, tap one! And another for Jake Evans on the backhand. Those six goals tied for the most of anyone in these Stanley Cup playoffs with Matt Boldy of Minnesota. From out high, Texier fired it on with Boldu parked in front. Lobbed to center. James scoots in over the line. James, a shot paddled away by Dobich. James checked. The puck flipped out for Texier to neutral ice. Boldu cross-corner. Doc teed it up. Texie kicked out! Big save. Very assertive in net. He's coming out, ball, tracking the puck well, and killing the play when he gets the opportunity. Radish did not get it past Carrier. And Newhook starts it out to center. Trying to get around Radish. Newhook! Torped it out! Zelebski, the stop! Play there to get the puck out of the zone. Slapkowski for Devidov! A shot! Save! That's Zelebski! Off field went spinning. And McDonough back to it for Tampa. Point had to pull up. And now Chernak with a shot! Saved by Dobich. Out of that middleman spot. Devidov with space towards the net. Looking for a Suzuki tip. To Darren Radish. About as entertaining a first period, really, as any period that we've had in this series. We've got him in this bumper spot. We talk about the dynamic nature. They move around. But what happens is Tampa Bay gets stretched out. From Kucherov. Back on the rush here. Suzuki drop. Caulfield. Triggers! One save. That's Zelebski. Kucherov had a great race in trying to get him going here. And he gets this good look coming through. But it's locked down. And here, I'm really impressed with Caulfield taking this shot. He did have a little bit of help coming in. 19-90. He scored his 50th goal actually at the end of the regular season against Tampa. And his dad and parents were in the stand. Exciting for them to see their son. Puck towards the net. With Yanni Gore. No harm from that misplay in the first. Radish towards the net. Puck to the left of Dobich. It goes to the goal line. It's swept out. Puck as it sneaks through. Jakub Dobich right through his legs. And Deneau grabs it right at the last minute. And sweeps it. They'll take this icing, by the way. Texier dancing on this great line at the bottom six for the Habs. Toward the net. That's Zelebski. Fights it off. Loops it front. Finally settled down. Not cleared for takeoff. Hagel along for Kucherov. Kucherov dragging through on Caulfield. Fended back. Chernak a drive. Kicked out. Struble pinches. This collides with Bjorkstrand. Gonsalves skates it out to center. Jungwinger drops it off. Here's James with a shot. And Dobich. So 7-17 to go in the second. Still no score. They top one by Paul for McDonough. Now Yanni Gore towards the net. Brought on by Dobich. As we tick towards six and a half to go in the second. Nice play. Touched the wall. Here's Boldu. Kicked out. That's Zelebski. Red point accelerates. Swerving out wide against Carrier. Dropping it off. Dastu a shot. Gloved. By Dobich. One shot so far tonight. Game six. Radish from Moser. Towards the net. Slipped aside by Dobich. Hudson midpoint. Caulfield. Suzuki. Sees Davidoff. Kicked out. Backhand. Oh! What a stop! Two saves were epic. He's a big... They call him the big cat for a reason. He comes across but it's that second glove save. In that prone position. I don't... It's hard to imagine being in... For people that aren't goaltenders. To be in that position. In a spread eagle. With your legs like that. And be able to reach up and glove that puck and get the whistle. And that right there is something that is going to give his team confidence and momentum. Goncalves though possesses. Pass for Chernak. Off a good stick. A Texier joy. Gets... Roughs it up a little bit. Texier had that goal we talked about. The softy that Vasilevskiy... Freed up. New hook. Hudson a shot. Vasilevskiy got a piece. The Canadians peppering Andre Vasilevskiy. Here's a turnover. Getzel. Denied by Dobich. But a penalty. Here's Getzel. Top of the circle. Dean Radish. From the one-timer. Did not get all of it. Kucherov drips. Kucherov shoots off the post. Tremendous amount of possession and offense. And Nikita Kucherov a little bit... Getzel. For Kucherov. Chip back. Here's Getzel. With a shot off the post again. On the top side of the power play. And then you got Getzel in the same spot... Charles-Edouard Dasthu. Centers. Kucherov moving in. Turned aside by Dobich. Off the side of the net. And a scoreless third in game six. Well, Nikita Kucherov, you can't lose it. Look how much space he's given there. Four seconds. Here's Radish. Radish turns. Down low. Dobich covers. And it's a whistle. Darren Radish taps it around. Nearside. Your eyes left. Kopski. And now Radish. Banked one. This one will come down on Dobich who steers it off. This is the 13th overtime game in these playoffs. The home teams are 8-4. Demidov. Kicked out by Vasilevski. He had Kopki. 50 seconds to go. Suzuki. Puts it away. And what a save. I love that one-timer. And Vasilevski robs him. Kucherov out of the box. We're back to even strength. Kucherov moves in. Kucherov denied by Dobich. No idea that he had the puck right there in his skates. Could have gotten the puck out. Kucherov fresh out of the box. Lilleberg. In behind. Taken away there by Kayden Gooley. Hagel. Hagel moving in. Down low. It's a game 7 Sunday in Tampa. Not somebody that people would have chosen. But watch this play right there. Two players are taken out of the screen. And it's Brandon Hagel who has been such an integral part of this offense on this Tampa Bay Lightning team throughout this entire series. He's the one who sets this up. But Kirby Duck is taken out of the play. And of course, Gage Gonsalves is the one who's able to pick up the loose change that comes in. And Dobich makes a save. Makes a second save. But he can't find the third lap. Gage Gonsalves. His first career overtime goal, whether in the playoffs or the playoffs.
