With Mother Ernest Bloch Dreaming of Home and Mother John Pond Ordway

Normally I like to take more time to write about the composers and songs I play, but I am very busy today because I am preparing to play in a recital tomorrow (on Mothers' Day). I hope that some of you are able to take the time to learn about Ernest Bloch (1880-1959), a Swiss-born American composer, and John Pond Ordway, an American businessman, composer, physician, and politician (1824-1880), who died the year that Bloch was born. They both had very interesting lives and created beautiful music.
