I Was Eating Pizza Wrong… Living in Brazil Changed This

I made a mistake eating pizza the first time that I came to Brazil and also why am I wearing this jacket right now? The first time that I came to Brazil I had two misconceptions out of all luck and the first one was that in America we eat pizza with our hands and in Brazil they don't do it that way they do it a different way. So what happened is first time we went out to dinner with my girlfriend and her friends I made a pizza arrived here at this mozzarella pizza place here and I grabbed the pizza with my hands I started eating that's how we do it in America like a pepperoni pizza and I stopped and looked around with a mouthful of pizza and everyone else is like cutting with a fork and a knife. I was like oh my goodness what is going on here why are they doing that? So I realized that that was a mistake. The other thing that I didn't realize I had this misconception I arrived in Brazil in June it's almost May right now and it's starting to get cold. I don't know if you've had this spot but I always thought that Brazil was like Rio de Janeiro which is bikinis, beaches, palm trees, coconut water but it actually gets cold here and my girlfriend was like hey bring a jacket to Brazil I was like bring a jacket so I didn't bring a jacket and I arrived here and guys it was the coldest winter in over a hundred years. I want to show you guys something as well here at this pizza place called Mozzarella Lages because it is the best pizza in Brazil in my opinion and after I ate pizza here I couldn't go back to the American way of eating with pepperoni and all that because what they do in Brazil is they put like a whole meal on the pizza they have like shrug it off pizza they have like Portuguese which is with eggs and in corn and tomatoes and all this and they also have pizza they call it dulce pizza which is ice cream pizza they have ice cream on the pizza but they have like tiramisu pizza you guys have to take a look at this this is incredible and it's a completely new experience and maybe you eat in your nation especially for me that we eat in America right so let's go we'll check it out and we'll see what you guys do. So guys as you can see this is where they make the pizza and this one is I don't know what it is but it's. What kind of pizza is this one? Costela so it is a barbecue ribs. Barbecue ribs and the other side is Parma and yes so let's see what else they have here there's a pizza place and this is the way they do it so look at this they're not messing around it is prosciutto parma which is like look at all these ingredients that they have here look at this crispy onion they have eggs have you ever seen eggs on a pizza and then eggs on pizza that have all kinds of stuff they're completely different than any pizza eating in America this is why you have to eat it with a knife and a fork guys so here is the pizza place and of course it isn't a real brazilian pizza place if there's not football playing on the screen flamingos and i don't know the other team flamingos it's from rio de janeiro and they are winning really nothing so guys look this is a dessert pizza the woman of the night it comes with ice cream every time like everybody's eating with a fork and knife or even the children so this is kind of a regular pizza this one's especially ah here's something they got over there it has figs on it figs and almonds figs and almonds so this is a specialty pizza i'll take one as well thank you so much so guys look at this this is why you know show you why you're not going to be able to eat this with a knife and a fork or without a knife and a fork because look it just falls apart it's like a full meal oh my god mom is doing it the correct way dad's doing it the correct way you've got to eat it what do you think wonder the cheese delicious yeah really good that's the way it's done so unfortunately doesn't quite work with the hands so this is why am i centered yes okay so this is why you can't eat pizza in brazil without a fork and a knife because it just falls off it's this is filet mignon with like four types of cheese and it's so good right the first time i came to brazil made a mess uh filet mignon all over the place and now i learned my lesson so guys this here is calabresa so it's not like your normal pepperoni it's like a different type of meat so here's the calabresa this is calabresa which is like a four kind of pepperoni style meat with onion and with uh all the other thing i was going to mention is that people use ketchup mustard and mayonnaise got the old man doing the mayonnaise style here in brazil what do you think it's really good mayonnaise mustard ketchup guys i don't know what's going on there must be something here everybody was putting mustard on their pizza this is new to me oh the old man is getting on to that mustard action mustard and mayonnaise what's that mix called rice sauce so yes guys this is the last last last part of the video uh but i want to show something here this is the lodges right so it is really cold here like i don't even know how to explain how cold it gets here like 20 degrees uh fahrenheit so they have a little bit better infrastructure here um they have these solid heaters in the middle and then people use their jackets and things like that all right thanks guys for watching until next time see you guys later hey guys this is insane never had mustard on my pizza but wanted to give you guys a pizza experience here in brazil at mozzarella pizza and lodges incredible place if you've never had brazilian pizza guys it's one of the first things that you need to eat when you come to brazil because there's extravagant cell pizzas with stroganoff and all kinds of different stuff and so just want to end the video video with this let us know in the comments if you guys eat pizza with mustard mayonnaise ketchup i don't ever eat pizza with mustard mayonnaise or ketchup but maybe you do and i'm sure some brazilian people here will comment below and then also let me know i want to know what do you guys think about ice cream pizza i think ice cream pizza is actually pretty good i didn't have any that night because i was really stuffed but um it's uh definitely a treat whenever you're in brazil to have ice cream pizza all right guys let us know in the comments what you think and until the next video we'll see you guys later
