Lin Shidong vs Elias Ranefur | MT - Groups | #ITTFWorlds2026

Favorite goes over to the Lin Shidong side of the table. A bit of Swedish feeling out here from Ranathor. But Lin Shidong was ready and waiting like a great white shark. Back to the backhand serve. It's so powerful. It's just really how he uses and it's another serve. So many opportunities from his serve. He changes a lot using topspin, heavy backspin, long, short. It's actually really refreshing to see someone with a brilliant backhand serve. We know it from Dmitry Ovtcharov. Connor Green was bringing it out yesterday. We don't see it that often. Go up 15 centimeters and it does more than enough. Challenge successful. After 14.7 feet. Has run away with it in game one here. That's one we didn't have written Joe. In game number two. Pendulum serve this time is extremely important for Elias to get on top as soon as possible. He has got so much feeling. And the crowd enjoying what they're seeing. Because Ranathor is... This second game six each. They simplified the serve again. And it's good tactics from Lin Shidong. On Lin Shidong. Make that 9-6 up with one of his up here on Lin Shidong. Net to net it went as a 2-0 lead on Lin Shidong. Devastating. And Lin Shidong wins game number three. Sends us to a fourth game. Against Anton Shilbert. Clearly with team China's Lin. Four game points still. Powers of recovery from the former world number one. That keeps him alive in this match-up. In this must win. It's a world-class strawberry. But getting used to his serve. He's holding more balls on the table. Of course he will. No other option. That must have been a devastating serve from Lin Shidong. The pendulum. Lin Shidong was 5-2 up in this deciding game. But Elias Ranathor showing that viking spirit.
