Around 400 years ago, Japanese ceramics underwent a significant transformation.
Porcelain became increasingly popular,
Many traditional pottery styles have begun to shift toward shading.
However, in recent years,
One tradition is,
It is at the heart of contemporary artistry.
Karlstaden
Hello everyone.
I'm so happy you came on this journey.
I use my own works as inspiration
I love exploring Japan's hidden side.
Today I am exploring Caraltsway.
It is a city rich in history and textual heritage.
And behind the honor of Porcedan, we are
We are on a mission to find assets that have nearly disappeared.
Let's begin.
It starts early.
From the center of Kalatzwey,
I found a bus that drives for only one hour.
In Japan, public facilities are their own art form.
If the time zone is written as 7:46,
The door closes at 7:46.
When I found that bus,
I have accurately found the time zone.
I realized something in Japan.
The event schedule is a craft object.
It is undoubtedly built.
From generation to generation, from human hands
A level of compassion and respect.
Isn't that a perfect way to start our exploration?
Our map's first step is
It's the morning market at Yozutai.
Over a history of 100 years,
It is known as one of Japan's three great morning markets.
But when I arrived,
What I expected was not the bus scene.
The air was silent.
There were not many stores.
Is 1,000 yen okay?
Could you please add some mayonnaise as well?
It's butter, not mayonnaise.
Thank you.
Ms. Cinderbender
Moving it using the hand I practiced like this
I was a little worried.
Is it okay if I take your measurements?
Yeah.
Did you make this into pottery?
This is simmered dish.
Sashimi.
Pot.
The pot is delicious.
I felt as though I had discovered tradition at the toning point.
The past of a creature adrift in a quiet, uncertain future.
Was this also created?
However, this port has never been a guided tour.
Did you used to live there?
Several decades ago,
Korean pot technology
Crossing this coastline,
This water
Tangjin Way
Nearby
I found a small 18th-century shrine.
I took this photograph in February.
Plants
As soon as I began to wake up.
Winter is
I survived, but
They in spring
A beautiful resurrection
It appeared.
What is hiding behind it?
Bashō Matsuo's
It says "haiku."
Evening glory, ah
Autumn is full of various things
Kana, the shrine maiden.
This shrine is
Flowers of the evening and
The atmosphere of autumn changing
I remember.
The banana plant embodies Fukuibu's beauty.
I will find it.
As a container
A humble weapon.
This region
Contrast of
On the other hand,
细致地
While pondering the words for places, I returned to the market.
I no longer feel hungry.
I feel sincere emotions.
Like Karatsupotory.
Her beauty is not her perfection.
Yet, she still exists.
It has formed quietly, like history, people, and the era.
Is this something that was released at the dormitory this morning?
We have a dormitory land development project contracted with dormitory land development.
Yes, I understand.
We are now heading toward the ruins of Nagoya Castle.
Karatse's history has reached a turning point.
Nagoya Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
A战国 unifier of Japan.
In the late 16th century, he used this location as a base for the invasion of Hanguk County.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi was well known for his expertise in the tea ceremony.
Historical records depict his extraordinary flavor.
From the Rastik Bambu Tiel Room, a legendary mobile tiel room entirely made of gold.
Here, at this ruin, you can see a recreation of this space.
Along with rare records brought here from Korean potters, we are providing their essential skills to Japanese soil.
This quiet ruin does not seem to be a reflection of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's ambition.
After all, his military campaigns are the main focus of history books.
For someone like me, who enjoys craftsmanship, his true influence was on people's movements.
The reason these technologically advanced people came here is that they were born during the time of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
It wasn't anything fancy back then.
It was about the beauty of simple, everyday life.
They made it as a wabi character.
My favorite Tea Masters in Kyoto and Osaka.
In fact, at that time, "Karatu" was the word used by everyone in the region for ceramics.
But the world has changed.
The focus has changed.
Political power becomes centralized.
Nagasaki began seeking a new kind of luster.
Pousaren.
In the late 18th century, porcelain was produced near Arita and Hagi.
The market collapsed.
The ground suddenly sank down.
And with a severe shortage of large metal, they destroyed a small desert,
The daily tradition of karatsu has nearly disappeared.
Not only were they left to survive in the darkness for a long time, but
A few Tea Masters have survived.
After leaving the ruins of Nagoya Castle,
I took a 40-minute bus ride back to the city center.
On one side, the sea offers a magnificent coastal journey,
On the opposite side is the heel of the property.
Looking into the waves, I see Karatsu's ground.
You can see where Wabi-Textures' inspiration comes from.
It is old and very peaceful.
Until the first twenty years of the 20th century, the era did not change.
The old samurai collection went to auction,
The world was able to see the ancient Kaltz technology once again.
People were rising up with quiet strength.
The popularity of the plane continued.
Scholars and artists began uncovering the locations of old planes.
Learn shading like a detective,
I have recreated the lost grace and the technique of fire.
Today, its revival is in full swing.
Right now, from the ruins of my family, to a young artist
We are starting our own fire.
They do not merely copy the past.
They are shaping a new future.
Going to a place like this,
I feel as though I'm walking on a living map of this region.
This is not just one work.
This is the entirety of Karatsu's heel
It's a carefully crafted collection.
It's the perfect place to get a bag.
Some people adhere to past traditions, while
Others are clearly promoting contemporary craftsmanship.
Others are clearly advancing modern craftsmanship, but
When I started the browser,
I was captivated by the small imperfections that define this style.
At British Pottery,
In most cases, I'm looking for simulation and a smooth finish.
However, Karatsuya comforts Wabi-Sabi.
The beauty of bags and bags.
You can see the scorch marks from the pine wood fire.
The handprint left on the left side of the bag.
It's taciturn, serious, and very down-to-earth.
Just by looking at the temperature of the bag, you can almost feel it.
I was surprised that this part has a specific weight.
They feel as if they are being pulled directly from the ground.
I spent a long time here.
My eyes were guided from shelf to shelf.
I was searching for peace, a soul that shared the same essence as mine.
I worked alongside a traditional kimono.
Sometimes, there was something I wanted to convey.
And there it was.
Among the ceramic sea I discovered, I sensed a slightly different style.
I knew that I possessed a specific energy that required me to follow their source.
When I look back on this journey, I realize that culture has truly not disappeared.
Even if I disappear from your perspective.
It is waiting for the right people to return to the light.
For me, this journey felt like the moment of checking the answers.
I checked my journey through the upcycling of a kimono.
It's the same great idea.
Materials and traditions are rediscovered and reinterpreted,
It will be passed down in a way that suits modern life.
That led me to go even further down Beatton's Trail.
To find the secret film that holds the essence of this spirit.
In the following section, we visit one film.
As I was looking for a shop, two artists caught my eye.
One is Little Kumamoto.
He is not perfect. A bit irregular, but very unique.
The other person is Chiharu Kumamoto.
He makes waves like Tibo.
Later, I found his son and father.
They worked together at a place called Chishui Castle.
It's slightly hidden outside the city.
Chishui City has a splendid history.
It actually began in 1976.
It's a café where people can enjoy handmade tea.
The Kumamoto family actually operated a teahouse at this location.
It is the Meiji era.
You can feel it in their work today.
Next, there is a cat.
There was no time at the Red Water Castle without them.
In 2018, when a black cat fell ill,
Sho-song began making a chopstick rest in the shape of a cat.
To pay for medical expenses.
Today, their love has grown into every cut plate and base of the musical.
They found a way to revive history starting from 2023.
They established a workshop using Polish steel sheets.
The fragments of Karatsu have turned into small works of art.
Paro and Yagimona have become disciples of some Pama-honto and are going to go independent in that manner.
I don't have it at all.
There's no connection like that either.
But is that really okay? It's like a neighborhood association—so arbitrary. Isn't that just typical of the countryside?
Isn't it a neighborhood gathering in the countryside?
That kind of thing.
Someone who doesn't even know it themselves, yet doesn't feel it.
That's why it's not shown there.
I don't know if it's true, but the actor who played Karats's role, Mr. Yagimona, is...
Everyone says they started liking the old character because they liked the role of Karatsu.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, something like wabi-sabi.
Before wabi-sabi, before saying wabi-sabi, it's the early, initial version of Karats.
That's good.
How old is that?
About 400 years.
Exactly like when someone like Toyotomi Hideyoshi was around.
The props from those days were excellent.
Everyone is aiming for that.
Everyone says so.
Moreover, since I don't find it impressive or noteworthy, I'm not interested.
You know, among people in the same profession, there's naturally a certain level of shared business aspects and common ground, so conversations tend to flow smoothly, don't they?
Just kidding, but everyone's on the other side of the river.
Isn't that the person over there?
Indeed, I crossed the river.
Finally, it's been acknowledged.
Well, it was interesting, though.
I'd run a business while making pottery and working at a café.
It has become much more straightforward, hasn't it?
Ah, that's right.
First of all, you recognized it as professional work.
Feelings like that.
Like a café master.
Conversely, isn't the café the main focus here?
It's the main one, after all—it's supposed to stand out.
Isn't it still like that?
You wouldn't mind a scenery being created somewhere, would you?
It's all wrapped up within that.
Is this what's behind it, then?
This side is my job.
My son is up there.
So, when we don't meet, we don't meet for one day.
When I was running a café here back then,
That second floor over there was the workplace.
That's why it's hard to get on and off.
Come down here,
When I entered the previous workplace,
Before I knew it, my son was being saved.
I waited here for about two hours.
The café is no longer officially open.
Chiharu is,
Thank you for giving me coffee and desserts,
All are from the front.
The server as well as the dripper.
Wait, even the dripper?
It's not a dripper.
What do you call it?
I understand.
It tastes like it has a special flavor.
After a long day exploring the ruins of the market and the castle,
This quiet moment,
That was what I needed.
Not just Portary, but also
It was only the warmth of people.
For Chiharu,
You really said something truly regrettable.
He will never do it in his life.
He absolutely,
In the midst of the gentlemen
I have not been working.
He,
Work as mysteriously as oneself,
With your own confidence
And then,
What he believes in
I truly did something good.
With the same spirit,
Due to the time difference
I am about to begin my own upcycling journey.
To be honest, I receive negative comments almost every day.
People keep telling me that I must cut or replace this old silk.
However, meeting Chiiharu-san reminded me of the reason why I started.
I truly believe in maintaining that reason.
What I believe in is doing what is suitable for culture and environment.
Its value will ultimately shine.
Sometimes, the most irregular parts are precisely what preserve the soul of craftsmanship for the next generation.
Right now, I have both Saga porcelain and Karatsu ware in my hands.
One is delicate, excellent, and perfect.
The other one is earthy, warm, and full of character.
Do people always choose what they like?
But for me, it's not about choosing one; it's about balance.
In my upcycling work, I'm looking for the same thing.
Crossroads of beauty and history
Sometimes I feel like having a Polish from Poland.
But sometimes, Clay's soul is needed.
Karae's journey has come to an end.
A wonderful complex featuring hotels, movie theaters, galleries, and more
Walking across Japan while filming nonstop for three weeks is really enjoyable.
Don't forget the fancy restaurants either.
My favorite ending road is the supermarket hall.
There are plenty of local ingredients available.
Fresh and inexpensive
That is my response to everything I have photographed.
Thank you for joining this discovery.
See you at the next craft adventure.
See you later
