OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING COP SHOT SUSPECT DECEASED
Man who shot Columbus police officer was a post-release violator
There are more than 1,600 violators at large across the state, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
The Columbus Division of Police shot and killed 39-year-old Chantez Loury after the agency said he fired multiple times at officers following an attempted traffic stop.
On Friday, police released the dash camera video of the incident.
Loury was released from his most recent incarceration in August 2025 on post-release control after completing his sentence for felony assault.
