YouTube Wednesday: Last video before the baby comes!!!
In today’s video, #laceylocation #acupuncturist Dr. Nicole is treating #chiropractor Dr. Erin for #abdominalitching due to the stretching of the #abdominalskin. This treatment will help improve #circulation, alleviate #itching, and balance #emotions. Dr. Erin is in week 36 of her #pregnancy and the baby weighs about 6 pounds and is the size of a honeydew melon. The baby’s head is usually positioned down into the pelvis by now. Babies are considered at “term” when he or she is 37 weeks. Going into labor between 37-39 weeks is early term, 39-40 weeks is at term, and late term is 41-42 weeks.
Hi, I'm Dr. Nicole and I'm with Lacey's office. I'm one of the acupuncturists here.
And today I'm with Dr. Erin and she is in month 9 of her pregnancy.
And during this month the baby is about 6 pounds, about the size of a pretty large honeydew melon.
Also during this time the baby's brain is getting almost fully developed.
So it responds to simple sounds or even songs.
So that's a good time to start playing some music for the baby if you'd like.
Also lungs are almost fully developed at this point.
And baby is actually transitioning a little bit.
So the head is going to be going down into the pelvis.
And the baby is considered full term at week 37.
And Erin is getting right now I think about into week 36. Is that about right?
Because she's almost there.
Also during this time some women start to notice a little more breast tenderness.
And they might actually get some leakage or oozing of a little bit of a yellowish fluid which is called colostrum.
This is actually completely normal as your body is getting ready to start breastfeeding as well.
Some women actually start to notice a little more discomfort in the low back or in the sacral region.
Now Dr. Erin is very lucky. She hasn't had any of this.
And this is mainly due to the fact that she's been doing acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy throughout her pregnancy.
So she's very lucky.
But today what we're going to be focusing on for Dr. Erin is she's having a little bit of itching.
And this is mainly due to the baby still growing and the abdomen is still stretching.
And you can get itching kind of all over the body.
But focusing today a little bit more on the abdomen.
So the acupuncture points I've chosen for Dr. Erin are to help with blood circulation, decreasing itching and also some emotional balance as well.
So tune in next month because we'll have a surprise hopefully.
And we will meet the baby and see how Dr. Erin is doing as well as how the birth went.
