Quinnipiac vs North Dakota | NCAA College Hockey Highlights | March 28, 2026

World for sure face off went clean and a blast from the line came in that time as Lorela played for Fargo in the USHL one of their freshmen on the back end and now it's Verhoeven to the corner tried to center it out in front feel it around battle along the wall brewing we'll see who can win those today spun off the wall Wittenbach a chance first big one opportunity of the game for Quinnipiac and a save made by Spoonar those pucks along the and as long as they're engaged physically as they are here that's a two-man kind of press on the boards and leaves an wide open puck for Wittenbach and he gets all of this but really good stop by Spoonar their little stinger as he heads over to the bench now peek over the shoulder for Blase got into the line but Zellers threw it right back in opportunity off the wall open ice to work with score what a keep what a goal Jack Kernan's 10th of the season gets his rolling we mentioned a big part of North Dakota is their forecheck playing the physical pro style game and they have the forecheck initially then the keep at the blue line and just a great recognition here by Jack Kernan he takes this one and fades away and snaps this right through the arm and body created a lot of open ice to work with for Kernan as that twists down offside and when you have a team that presses and forechecks and is physical like North Dakota you've got to move the puck quickly and that's why I talk about 2023 over Minnesota in Tampa their first national championship this amazing program that Rand Technol has built and he's got it back after your birthday buddy we're gonna put it towards the net looking for the tip score back to back Kroll makes it two goals in two games here in Sioux Falls this is power hockey personified on the walls on the boards in the trenches blue collar and big-time support along the wall here and watch Kroll keep it moving keep the puck extended and then get net front in and around that net front area and I'm sure that North Dakota brings back his 25 goals on the season they change up some of the personnel here though in the slot a shot comes in and it springs off the corner board Borgula trying to keep it in did so Marcellus leads it over there maybe looking for the give and go there with Sir Bowen now Schwartz one-timer got through cleaned up and cleared we go two nothing North Dakota leads it a couple of quick goals the latest of which came from Kroll coming into this game as well so three goals in two games here big-time stuff by him when he's on the ice good things are happening they'll turn over and back to the net North Dakota winning these battles along the wall with their visiting back back to cover for him they'll sling it up to battle ensuing there Marcellus took a dive right out in front now Gilson plays it across and Gilson looked to clear he kept it in Schwartz trying to back it up good another turnover here's Kernan again he fires scores two for Kernan two off turnovers North Dakota up three nothing what a start for North Dakota incredible start and this all starts with this little turnover here at the blue line and I mentioned you got to manage pucks and it's the Colonel Colonel Kernan with the wrister twisted wrist fade away bar down what a shot to put North Dakota the ECAC champs but on the ropes now here I'll tell you what the one redeeming thing is there's a lot of time buck banks off the wall again not put out by Quinnipiac and that's been a problem leads to a chance out in front this is not the line that you want to mess around to get into your own zone again he's right back out here he's trying to feed it over to Young who played against his former team the other day in Merrimack now hopping into the zone and chance off the side of that good rush that's signed by Sirbone who's got nine goals in the year long shot from the five goals in his defensive position this year Brunar who likes to play the puck had a little trouble settling that one down yeah that one was caught up in escape but did a good job of staying calm not panicking their forecheck has been a key factor in the problems they've given Quinnipiac on those turnovers for the bobcats in their own end there's Marinov loose and available turned over here Marcellus fires wide great shift for Mason Marcellus get around here by Tyler Young six one forward from Massachusetts up to the line and sent right back in scrolling is more Chernesky and they're going to take this draw here against Kernan the face-up win for Kernan against one of the better face-up guys in the nation Levinavich will play it down into the corner it's an opportunity for Zellers who snaps it wide now Emory with a follow-up shot brings back up to the point and letting Marinov get tested here Zellers waltzing in the top line James Rickwood leaves it back wrister from James off with a clutch and he scores top line goes right back to work for nothing this all starts from the zone entry under control by North Dakota and they go from low to mid a really good job just up and above the coverage and it's still in St. James the Detroit Red Wing prospect Calgary Alberta native maybe he's got some family watching up at Earls in Chinook in Calgary but a nice shot by head of my bag Zellers looking for Zembrowski out in front he's looking as relaxed as you will the restorative uh healing table you had earlier today plays here's a clean out zone entry right on two for North Dakota as Rushdie fires wide so that has been clear and consistent which team has had to clean the wall by Marcellus who has been good in this tier the bright spot he's in look at that for Marcellus waits fires oh what a save from Spoonard Stymie to Marcellus and now on the 12-0 eight to go center and pass looking for Trineski in back over the line here comes Tyler Young he'll stop up fire off the skate Gilson skate now Wittenbach looks trying to get him a thing Corral's fourth line out there Letty fires up and out of play Mayerhoff has been fantastic he certainly has we'll be back momentarily nothing up here comes Rick Wood again oh what a move what a move going all the way to that Zellers will play it back out Levonavich fires it towards the net eye around the body but a really good poke check an alert poke check to deny this here by Marinov nice dangles good mitts as the kids say silky mitts he played just there to get it out that play doesn't necessarily show up in the stat sheet weak see but he gets them rolling and possibly set up in the ozone again here for sure helps advance Stranden center and pass Tucked home score right on cue take that all the way back to that play from Swanson get him into the ozone center it put it home five nothing it's domination station and look at that little stop up play and that allows the nice little cross ice cross rink play there by Emery good puck recovery again along the wall well done there by Swanson and it's the flames first Sir Bowen over the line as Gilson to his left that play broken it's a hard crunch staple them to the wall here it is here's Verhoeven 18 so Blaise comes in on him and just staples him and you can see his leg his right leg underneath him I'll be surprised if if he didn't know to be young if he's able to escape an injury here because the way his leg kind of buckled underneath him at the times as well as we pumps it back out Littler will drop it back into the North Dakota zone and then Klee in the fourth line can drop it on in deep and implement their forward checking effort Letty feeling the full force of that forward check a turnover National Hockey League Viet Barkov you can go around the horn Connor McDavid Leon Dreisaitl that's key Sidney Crosby it's key face off in the country trying to put the clamps down they've been doing that all year long along the half wall Schultz whose dad played for UConn his mom played soccer to do it through center quickly this time is Wittenbach Vitek the drop pass tic-tac-toe they go Wittenbach tried to put it back out in front maybe had an opportunity there to just try to go for it himself because now Swanson will slide it back in that's a missed opportunity yeah I don't know we do have a let's see I think we're gonna have a call coming up Lorello will play it across the rink and he's loving it right now illustrious programs in college hockey history is about to add another Frozen 4 appearance to their long resume to Vegas North Dakota goes
