It’s officially that magical time of year again ✨ In today’s vlog, we’re decorating the Christmas tree, fireplace & living area! Light a candle, grab a hot chocolate, and let’s get into the Christmas spirit together 🤍🌟
Hello my loves, I hope you're all really well. It's one of my favourite days of the entire
year today. We are starting to decorate for Christmas. Me and Noah actually popped the
tree up yesterday and I gave him full reign with the decorations which are currently all
at the bottom of the tree. So today we're going to be slightly moving them further up the tree.
This year's theme, we are going back to basics. We are going to be doing like a little bit more
of a traditional theme. I'm still going to be adding lots of my neutral baubles to the tree
purely because I think they really suit our home. As you know, I'm a neutral girly so I feel like
our home is already full of lots of neutral colours. So having the neutral baubles on the
tree I think just really goes with the living room. But I'm going to be adding lots of deep red,
lots of deep green, velvet and just trying to add a little bit of traditionalness.
So I'm excited to see it all come together. I think it's going to feel, well, I already have
some of the baubles on the tree because obviously Noah decorated it yesterday. I'll show you, look.
They're all at the bottom of the tree. Even just seeing like the little pops of the velvet
burgundy makes it feel so much more festive. It's also the last time we're going to be decorating
this house for Christmas which feels very bittersweet but I'm so ready to start our new
chapter and share our new house with you all. I feel like the inside of our new house is giving
home alone so next year's theme is going to be like full-on home alone Christmas so I'm already
very excited for that. Yeah, if you are new here and your favourite time of year is also Christmas,
I'd probably assume so seeing as we are literally at the very beginning of November and you are
watching a Decorate My Christmas Tree video. If you also love this season, please don't forget
to hit subscribe. I have the sweetest community over here on YouTube and I would absolutely love
you to be a part of it. Anyway my loves, let's make ourselves a cosy Christmassy coffee in true
fashion. This is our annual Decorating The Christmas Tree vid. We know how it goes and it's time for you
to pause this video, get yourself a nice hot drink, get under the blanket, light the Christmas candles
and Merry Christmas guys. It is the season. Oh my goodness, I just heard this like almost
crunching noise coming from the tree and then I just saw Teddy the other side.
Um, what are you doing? I would prefer it if you didn't eat my Christmas tree, sir.
I've made a little Christmassy coffee in my new Santa mug. I've been so excited to use this mug.
This kind of reminds me of, I don't know why every time I like look at this, I have the Grinch in my
mind where they're like, oh, a Santa plate and the baby Grinch is like, tell me you've watched
the Grinch too many times without telling me that you can recite it word for word. Anyway,
very excited about my Santa mug. I got this from HomeSense in last week's video and I bought this
like Christmassy, um, ground coffee to go in our coffee machine and this is the first time trying
it. I've also got some whipped cream and they've kind of sunk now, but they're really mini, um,
gingerbread sprinkles. Oh, that's so nice. It's like, it's kind of chocolatey. It's like really
rich, a little bit spicy, chocolatey. That is a really, really nice coffee. I shall be drinking
this through to January. I have my basket of baubles. I have gone for a mix of past year's
Christmas themes. So we have my kind of like champagne neutral baubles, which I think I've
used every single year. Like the range is a really nice place for expensive looking baubles that are
like £1.50 each. Um, so I've got these kind of oversized ones, these gold ones. Again, I've used
these every single year from the range. And then I also have these matte cream ones also from the
range. These velvety chocolate brown ones with the lovely velvet ribbon. These from Amazon. I got
these last year and then we have some velvet burgundy baubles and then these more like glittery
burgundy ones. But I think these colours together are going to look really, really nice. And then
I've also got like a couple of medium sized, um, just like champagne baubles. And then last year,
you remember I basically added bows everywhere. I just feel like it's such an easy way to make
everyone look really festive. This year, I have this gorgeous burgundy red ribbon, which I'm
planning on just putting everywhere in the house to be honest. I feel like 2025, tis the year of
the red bow. So we're going to be adding this to the Christmas tree. I chose this kind of like
chiffon, um, rough ruffled edge kind of ribbon purely because it's really, really easy to tie
bows. And you can almost like see the twinkling lights through the ribbon, which looks really
pretty. Um, I do like the idea of using velvet and I do have some velvet ribbons, which I picked
up from Home Bargain. I'm going to save them for the fireplace. Um, but we'll see what these look
like. I used this similar material last year in cream and they just looked really, really pretty.
They looked kind of like rustic. Things first, before we start decorating the tree, I am actually
going to pop on some nostalgic, classic Christmas music. I would always usually watch a film when I
was decorating, but last year I had Christmas music on and there's just nothing beats it.
Nothing beats a bit of Bing Crosby, Michael Buble and Wham. Do you know what I mean? Just nothing beats it.
If you want to decorate along with me, I'm listening to the Christmas
Hits playlist on Spotify and it's got a big picture of Mariah Carey at the top. So I'm
going to press shuffle and let's start decorating this year's Christmas tree.
I've just switched over the Samsung frame art. I've gone for this really classic picture of Santa,
which I just absolutely love. Teddy has got front seat in the house and also this year's
Christmas tree is the same as last year. I actually invested in a white company Christmas tree last
year and it is just so, so gorgeous. I will link as many decorations and stuff as I can down below
along with the tree. Um, but it's just, it's just such a lovely tree. Like the shape of it, the
color of it, the light color, just everything about it is so nice. It's pre-lit and you simply
just like plug each section into each other. So easy. Um, and I just absolutely love it.
Next year we are having multiple trees and Jamie reminded me that we actually have really high
ceilings in our new house. So I can finally get my like eight, nine foot tree of dreams.
I'm feeling like this one will always be in the living room, but I would, I always dreamt of
having like a tree in the hallway, like a really tall one. When you come in the front door, it's
like, bam, it's Christmas. And yeah, I just, I'm so excited for next year's Christmas decor already.
Okay. The baubles are on the tree. It is feeling pretty magical in here already.
This is what they're looking like. I actually love just the simplicity of a tree with literally
just baubles. It looks so pretty. I'm really, really loving these ones. I think they look
nice. I've kind of put them on the edges. I feel like they kind of look like diamonds.
I actually, now I'm looking at it. I feel like it needs another one, maybe like there,
maybe there. I'll have a play around with it. I usually move the baubles about at least
a million times before I'm actually happy with it. So this is almost like the base.
Now I'm going to do my bows. So we're going to do the bows next. I've got a couple of different
shades of red. I'm thinking I'm maybe going to mix two, thinking this one, because this one's
like very burgundy and then maybe more of a red one. But then I'm also thinking cream ones that
I had last year too. So like a mix of the burgundy and cream. But I'm going to do the
burgundy first, see what they look like, and then we can always change it up.
I am so happy with the bows. They look absolutely perfect. I did add some of the
lighter colour as well. Jane, we did have to go back into the loft for them,
you may have noticed my jumper's changed. We're still in the burgundy theme, but
I had to take that off shoulder jumper on. It was giving me all the sensory overload.
When I was trying to decorate, it kept slipping down my arm. I kept having to
like pull it up. It was just, yeah, not, not great decorating attire. So I've got this nice
cosy burgundy one on now from H&M. I absolutely love it. Okay. Finishing touch to this year's
tree. We've got some dried baby's breath. That was weird. Why is all my Christmas decorations
smell weird this year? If you saw my last vlog, you would have seen the fish reef box. Well aside,
they look absolutely beautiful on the tree. I did this last year and I just loved how it looked. So
I break these up into little clusters. So probably pieces about, probably like this big.
And I simply just pop them, scatter them across the tree. It looks like snow. Like they look like
little balls of snow. Also a great way to hide any gaps, um, where you don't want to add baubles.
Cause I think sometimes too many baubles can look a little bit busy. So I'm just going to go around
add my baby's breath to, I love the name baby's breath. So cute. I just think of like Jonah's
little milky breath. That might sound gross to some of you, but unless you've experienced that,
like that milky smell of your baby's breath, then it is just one of the best things on planet earth.
No, we can't talk about that cause I will start crying. I don't know if you'll be able to see
from over there, but just look how instantly, just how pretty that looks instantly. Can you see that?
I don't think you can. Let me grab you. Look! Oh, it looks so pretty.
Okay. My love's Christmas tree is about finished. I still need to have a big
bath and I'm thinking I probably need another white bow about here, but so far I am really,
really, really happy with it. I love the colours, love the baby's breath, love the ribbons and yeah,
I'm so happy with it. It feels very festive with all the burgundy. After my last vlog,
this is not what I wanted to see. If you know, you know, Teddy sometimes does very naughty things
to my garlands. I don't know what it is. He just takes a real like into them and then I think he
tries to mark them as his. Teddy, you mustn't do any naughty things to my garlands this year.
Teddy, are you listening? Next up, we are going to transform the fireplace. I really love what I did
last year with the fireplace. So we're going to do the same kind of thing, but we're going to be
adding these gorgeous velvet bows, which I picked up from Home Bargains. They were £2.99 for a pack
of three. And I actually feel like these would also be gorgeous on your tree. I'm planning on
kind of like draping the garlands again because that looked really nice last year. And then I
might have like three bows going across. I'm not sure we'll have to like play around with it.
The garlands I'm going to use are these ones. I bought loads of these from Amazon last year,
like I'd say like 20 of them because they are just so multi-purpose. You can literally use
them anywhere and they are so real looking. I think they're called like a seed. I think they're
called a cedar garland. I'm going to find them and link them down below. But they're just perfect
and so affordable as well. And they don't smell. I have another garland, which is really lovely,
but it just stinks of fish. The Christmassy vibes a little bit when your garlands smell like
you're in a fishmongers. So yeah, these ones are great. I've got some cowbells,
so I love to use those also. One is like a garland and then I'll also have some hanging.
Have already put some command strips on here. Did that yesterday because every single year...
He's so naughty. Teddy, Teddy, please. Why must you always attack all my Christmas decorations?
Oh, excuse me. I just did that bow. Oh my goodness. Lemons are not safe. Garlands are
not safe. Oh dear. I feel like Teddy and Tilly are actually like so good with Christmas decorations.
Well, they were good. Well, Tilly is still good, actually. Sorry. Sorry, Tilly, if you can hear me.
But Teddy last year turned into a bit of a menace with Christmas decorations. I've never really had
a problem with the cats and like attacking stuff. But like I said last year, he pissed in all my
garlands. And this year, clearly, he's going to have a love for ribbons. So... Oh my goodness,
he just completely threw himself like backwards to get the ribbon. Stockings. I'm going to use
these ones again, although I am gutted. I don't know why I did this, that I got Gemma and Jamie
written on the stockings instead of Mummy and Daddy. And I don't know, I just feel like it
should be Mummy and Daddy. I have those either side. And then I picked up these wreaths from M&S
this year, and they've got the red bow already on there. And I was thinking these could be quite
nice, maybe under the lights. It might look a little bit too much, but we will play around
with everything and see how it looks. This is how my coffee table looks now. Lovely, Teddy, thank you.
I've caught a fish.
What are you doing? Oh my goodness.
Ho, ho, ho and a merry blooming Christmas. I'm so happy to be surrounded by Christmas
decorations. I'm so happy with how this year's turned out. I don't think I will ever not use
red in my Christmas decorations now. I just think it adds so much warmth and cosiness and
it's just the true colour of Christmas. Gemma loves, we have reached the end of this year's
decorate for Christmas with me. There will be a part two in my next video. I really hope you
enjoyed it. Thank you so much for joining me for one of the best days of the entire year.
I know for a lot of people it seems early, but you know me. And if you don't know me,
then clock strikes midnight on the 1st of November. I go from autumn girly to Christmas
girly. I just feel like if you enjoy a season, why not just embrace it for absolutely as long
as possible? Thank you so much for decorating with me and I will see you all in part two.
Love you so much. Bye bye. Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
