Hey guys, welcome back to my channel.
I'm Alexandra and you are watching Studio Fix,
the series where I tackle teeny tiny apartments
under 500 square feet and show you
how to make them beautiful, stylish, and organized.
He's clapping, he's clapping, he's clapping.
It's a little crooked.
Whoa!
I just think it's so funny that I'm doing this in my skirt.
I look so proud.
Stunning.
You got a makeover to do, so.
Wait, what?
I don't recognize it.
Oh my God.
Let's get started.
You guys, today's studio is the smallest studio apartment
we have ever made over, coming in at 96 square feet.
I'm so excited.
Get ready.
Before we get started though,
make sure you hit that subscribe button.
It is a goal of mine to reach one million subscribers
by the end of 2025.
I know we can do it.
I just want to go with Team AG and celebrate one million.
Have a huge party.
Can you imagine?
Maybe invite some of you.
So please help us get there.
Hit that subscribe button and let's get into it.
This 96 square foot studio apartment belongs to Jodi.
I can't wait to meet her.
Let's hop on a call and get to know her
and her space and what's working and what's not.
Hi Jodi, congrats on winning a makeover with us.
It's so exciting.
You live in the tiniest studio we've ever taken on.
People need to see this.
A lot of people live in really small spaces.
Are you a student?
I am doing my bachelor's of interior design.
Oh, cool.
What are the priorities for you?
The main priority for me is probably
make it more multifunctional.
It would be nice to have something more modular
or have some more seating space to make it feel like
when you come home, it's not just either,
like you sit at the bed or you sit at the desk.
The storage solutions are pretty good for how tiny it is,
but I'm also very minimal.
I'm pretty okay with just the one closet for everything.
And then the kitchen has no counter space.
So it is pretty hard to cook.
So when you say modular,
what I'm hearing is you want to be able to transition
from like a bed area, maybe like a living area.
When you think about a living space,
what do you envision?
It is important for me when I have like a friend,
two friends come over for them
to be able to like sit somewhere.
That makes a lot of sense.
You're a student.
So, and I know you have a desk.
I work a lot at my house.
So workspace is super, super important to me.
It doesn't really have really any storage.
All my art supplies is just kind of like in boxes
around the apartment.
So storage for your art supplies.
Let's chat about your inspo.
It's very cool.
I guess I'd love to hear from you what your style is
and like what your dream space would look like.
I love an area that feels really calming and relaxing,
but I also love pops of color.
You love character,
but you also love minimalism and minimalist spaces.
You get it.
What colors are you really drawn to?
I do like blue, yellow, green.
I like sort of a bit of like a grunginess to the color.
I always refer to them as like dusty colors,
like a dusty blue or like a dusty yellow.
You also pinned a lot of floor cushions.
I love like low to the ground.
It just feels very humbling, like grounding,
especially if you're sitting around with a friend
and you're having snacks.
I think it also works really well
for a small space like yours
because you want to be able to move stuff easily.
Amazing.
Okay, I think I have all the info I need.
Very excited, like I said,
smallest space we've ever tackled.
Yeah, I'm so excited.
Amazing.
Thank you.
Bye.
It's clear by looking at Jodi's inspo that she loves color.
We've got lots of warm tones,
like this golden yellow on the walls.
There's this really fun, bright blue,
and there's so much texture.
To me, it's giving like old world, cozy,
just like cool and very different
from any inspo we've worked within before.
Jodi also mentioned to me that she likes
sitting on the floor,
she likes being low to the ground,
and that's reflected in a lot of her inspo images
where there's like Japandi influences.
That kind of inspo is also bringing in
various wood tones as well.
So here's what I'm thinking.
First, I want to paint all the walls in this space
with a golden lime wash.
I want to give the walls like an old worldy feel
and bring in that texture,
and lime wash is perfect to do that.
If there was ever a time to use a Murphy bed,
this makeover is it.
I feel like that's going to solve
a lot of Jodi's functional issues
that she's having in this space.
I also want to take Jodi's existing bookshelf
and turn it into some kind of fold-down desk situation
so she can have it up when she is not working
and down when she is.
I feel like a lot of the items in this space
are going to have to be Murphied.
When the Murphy bed is up,
I want to get her some sort of coffee table
that can sit low to the ground,
maybe a couple of poofs that she can lounge on.
There's definitely no room for a sofa in this space,
so I feel like those low-to-the-ground cushions
that we saw in her inspo are a great solve.
Color and pattern and texture are going to be key here
to making this small space feel really cozy and homey.
All right, let's get this makeover started.
We're heading into day one, paint day.
Good morning.
I'm usually not here on paint day, on like day one,
but I'm here today because Nolan has the flu
and Alana broke her arm,
so we're down to three people, me, Amanda, and Graham,
but no worries, they're okay,
and I dressed for the occasion.
I think they look great on her.
I just feel like I'm like your child.
Like I'm like, okay, I'm ready.
So I was like, hey, Graham,
do you have an extra painting shirt?
He brings the whole outfit.
So I'm ready to work.
This is like the biggest,
smallest studio fix we've ever done,
and there's so much that we have to do
to transform this space,
and there's only currently three of us.
We have a lot to do.
Yes.
You, yes.
High five.
Oh.
Okay, we have to do some serious prep work
before we start painting.
The landlord actually painted latex over oil paint,
which is a big no-no,
so everything is peeling up.
Graham and I have to patch, we have to sand,
and just get the space ready for paint.
Graham is having some trouble
sanding the paint off this shelf unit,
so he's actually going in and scraping off all the paint.
Graham took a lot of paint off,
which is great because we were really nervous
that the paint we were adding just wasn't gonna stick.
Now that he's done that,
he can go in and sand,
and it's actually working pretty well now.
I am sanding down the windowsill.
There's a lot of cracks in it.
Again, the paint is peeling up,
so we wanted to give this a fresh coat of white as well.
I'm filling in the cracks on the windowsill
with some spackle.
Okay, we're done prepping.
That took a while.
So now, Graham and I are going to start priming.
We're using a shellac-based primer on the doors,
the windowsill, this cabinet.
We're doing that because basically any kind of paint
sticks to a shellac-based primer.
Let's do it.
Ow!
You know when you wake up from a dream
and you're kind of paralyzed?
Um, no.
Okay.
Well, I was.
But I was breathing through my mouth.
I was like.
Oh, you're not breathing.
No.
I actually heard you snore on an airplane.
What?
What airplane?
Wow, even over the engine noise?
That's crazy.
I was snoring?
Yeah, you snore when you fall asleep.
Well, why are you just telling me this now?
Okay, the trim of the doors
and the shelf have been primed.
Jodi loves like muted, dusty paint colors,
so I thought a lime wash would be really great on the walls.
We are going to prime the walls first.
We're using the Pure and Original line,
and they sent their Wall Prim Pro,
so we have to dilute this.
The reason we're using Wall Prim
is so that the lime wash goes on nice and even.
Got our water, so I'm gonna pour it directly into the can.
Now we're gonna shake it.
Shake it, shake it.
Once you begin applying a layer of Fresco,
work without a break.
No, it does not say that.
Yeah, it says it's a note for Alexandra.
You guys, I wanna note that this is going on solid
because we're doing the primer stage of this application.
The next coat we do will be those lime wash brush strokes
that you're used to seeing.
There's gonna be way more texture coming.
Wall Prim is the color we are actually painting
the wall.
They're the same color.
It's called Provincial Gold by Pure and Original.
We are switching gears and actually starting to paint
the trim and the doors white.
We're doing this because we realized
it would be way easier to go white on white
than paint the trim when the wall is primed yellow.
So we're just switching it up,
and we'll be back to finish the Wall Prim later.
We're painting the trim and the doors
cloud white by Benjamin Moore.
It's a nice, warm, creamy white.
Oh, my God.
Do you know?
The Farmer photo.
Yes, I just love that you got this.
You're the old bald guy with the pitchfork.
Also, you're short in the photo, I think.
Am I the woman?
Yeah, oh, no, you're the man.
It's okay.
It's unclear who's holding the pitchfork,
but it's more in the center.
Do you have to look off camera?
No, he's looking at the camera.
I'm the man.
Well, we'll be back at the crack of dawn
because that's what farmers do.
Except we'll be painting, not collecting eggs.
We'll see you right.
Farmers do so many other things besides collecting eggs.
Okay, hoeing the fields.
Like, I don't know.
Thank you guys so much for watching.
I'll see you tomorrow.
Hi, guys.
That was such a great day.
We got so much done.
I am at home in my PJs, winding down,
and I'm really excited because I can finally tell you
about this product that I have been loving
for months and months and months.
This is Dream.
Dream is an all-natural sleep beverage
with natural ingredients like reishi,
l-theanine, magnesium.
And when I tell you that this stuff has changed my life,
I really mean it.
I don't say that lightly.
It has changed my sleep game.
My job is very physical.
I also am running a business,
and I have a million things running
through my mind at all times.
So a good quality sleep is everything to me.
It means that my body has time to restore, rejuvenate,
and be ready to tackle anything
that is thrown at me when I wake up.
I will start my wind-down routine
by drinking a cup of Dream,
and within 15 minutes, I kid you not,
I cannot keep my eyes open.
Not only that, I sleep so soundly throughout the night.
I feel like my sleep is deeper.
I do not wake up during the night,
and I wake up feeling refreshed and not groggy.
I have an Oura ring, and I track my sleep religiously.
The first time I ever drank Dream,
my sleep score was so high.
It was like, wow, don't know what you've done,
but you've had the best sleep ever.
And that's what Dream does.
It just knocks me out in the best way,
and I just feel so restored when I wake up.

Sweet dreams, guys.
I will see you tomorrow.
It's day two.
Wait, it's still just the three of us.
I feel like we're in the trenches together.
Like, I feel like this is, we're making history.
I'm having fun.
I am too.
I do miss Elena.
I do miss Nolan.
Yeah.
I do have to entertain her more
because we're missing some key figures here.
Okay.
We're just gonna keep going with paint.
We're gonna start the lime wash process.
I'm gonna walk you through how I usually do this.
This paint is a little bit different though
because we're not diluting it.
This comes diluted.
Let's go.
Let's do it.
When you're lime washing,
you always wanna use this style of brush.
You don't wanna use a regular paintbrush.
This is because you wanna do big strokes.
You wanna do just Xs like that,
and you wanna go wet on wet.
The fun thing with lime wash
is you can't really do this wrong.
So you're just gonna go in
and then like move the paint around
in these big X motions.
Oh.
What?
The unsanded spackle.
It's okay.
It adds character.
It's like leaving your signature on a masterpiece.
Anything else you wanna share today?
Okay.
I'm loving how the first coat of lime wash is drying.
We're definitely gonna have to do a second coat.
And now it's time to paint this shelf
that was here before.
I'm gonna paint this a beautiful blue color
by Farrow & Ball called Lulworth Blue.
Look at that.
Blue is really hard to get right,
but this is the right color we want in here.
And against the yellow,
it can look so good.
Look at this color.
Do you guys remember my entry debacle?
I'm feeling a bit scared.
Does this look like a 13-year-old girl's room?
This is the color I should've gone with.
Okay, wow.
These two colors look amazing together.
This is only the first coat of the blue,
but it's looking good.
So while we wait for this to dry,
Graham and I are going to do a second coat
on the doors and the trim.
More painting.
Let's just go.
I'm doing a second coat of this beautiful blue color.
Much, much, much later.
You guys, I really hope you like painting content
because guess what we're doing next?
Some more painting.
We gotta get the second coat of lime washed up.
Graham, you ready?
Yeah, I guess so.
Just a note, it is recommended
that you wait eight hours between coats
so that the paint has time to fully dry.
Okay, so as I mentioned,
I thought to turn this bookshelf into a desk.
So Graham came in with an awesome solution.
Let's roll Graham cam to see what he made.
Okay, so the material for this project was very much free.
Graham picked it up from an old neighbor.
It is a huge solid cedar four by eight foot dining table.
We love free material.
Graham is starting by cutting down the table
to size using his track saw
so that it's the exact dimension
as the width of the bookcase.
He's sanding everything down using 50 grit sandpaper
and a belt sander to 120 grit sandpaper
using a random orbital sander
until the wood is nice and smooth.
Now he's ramming all of the edges
using a router with a round over bit.
Because this tabletop needs to be hinged,
Graham is creating a bracket
that the tabletop will connect to.
Graham is cutting the bracket
by cutting a little sliver off from the tabletop
using his table saw.
To connect the tabletop to the mounting bracket,
Graham is using a continuous piano hinge
and cutting it down to size using a metal cutoff saw.
Now Graham is priming the tabletop with two coats of primer.
Nolan is taking over and painting three coats
of Lulworth Blue by Farrow & Ball.
Because this is going to be a high-traffic desktop,
Nolan is sealing the paint
with three coats of a clear lacquer and a satin finish
just to give it that extra level of protection
from spilled coffee or scratches.
We are starting this install by screwing in a bracket
that the desk piece will be mounted to.
We don't wanna put too many holes
in the actual existing shelving unit,
so this bracket is gonna help with that.
Next, we are mounting the piano hinge to this bracket.
Notice that we're putting all of the holes in the bracket
instead of the bookshelf.
Clever, I know.
Now it's time to add the desk.
Wow.
Oh my goodness.
Wow.
Whoa.
That's exactly what I pictured.
Flush.
Okay, and then we have these little caps
that I'm just gonna tap in
and we're gonna paint these the same color as the blue.
So Graham and I are going to install a latch neck
so it stays closed.
It's not demurred.
It's secure.
Nice.
This is all looking so good.
Graham, great job today.
We painted hard.
Looks fantastic.
I'll see you guys tomorrow.
See you tomorrow.
Okay.
Okay, I'm here with a very exciting announcement.

Hi guys.
It's Murphy bed install day.
It's a big, big day.
We have a big day ahead of us,
but I wanted to show you how the paint dried.
It looks so good.
Graham and I were saying it almost looks like suede.
Yeah, it's a very soft texture.
There's dark and light spots.
Yeah.
Also, this blue on the bookshelf slash desk looks so good,
and I'm really excited to finish that today as well.
So we gotta hustle.
We're gonna start with this Murphy bed install.
Can I ask you what your experience was like
last time you built a Murphy bed?
Great question.
It took all day.
Oh my God.
And then we're gonna put it on.
Graham didn't exist in my mind.
When I was installing that Murphy bed,
I didn't even know who you were.
It wasn't even a twinkle in your eye.
That's so weird.
I can't even imagine.
I wanna hug you.
I'm not going to.
When I built the Murphy bed,
I remember there was a million parts and pieces.
And you were like,
I wish there was someone here to entertain me.
I just don't know who.
No, I said, I wish there was someone
who would read the instructions properly.
Is it gonna be you?
Let's do this.
Okay, so the really, really good news
is that there's only 18 steps.
Okay.
The booklet's not thick.
Okay, love.
18 steps and 1800 pounds worth of material.
Okay, so as you guys know,
Nolan is still out sick.
Alana's not here to help us.
So we have Graham's friend, Andrew, here
to support this Murphy bed build today.
We are starting by laying all the pieces on the floor
and then we're gonna be building from there.
This gorgeous Murphy bed is from Expand Furniture.
I feel like people often think that Murphy beds
are not the most beautiful pieces of furniture,
but this one really, really is.
I've seen Expand Furniture's products
all over social media for a really long time.
So I'm so excited to be finally using
some of their pieces in this makeover.
Look, there are cam locks here.
How can you access it when the bed frame is in place?
Did we miss a step?
We missed a step.
There's a backing on here now.
Where'd the backing come from?
We missed on the very first step, a whole piece.
Oh my God, guys.
I need to take a nap.
Okay, so we're back to step one.
Before we put 45 screws down.
No, you're amazing.
Because I have no idea what's going on.
I'm really just here for the vibes.
You're the brains behind, well actually no,
I'm the brains, but in a different way.
Amanda's the brains, are you guys kidding?
Yes, she is.
No, I'm the brun.
I think you're not.
The muscle, Brana's muscle.
I know, so who am I?
The beauty?
So you're just saying I'm here because I'm pretty?
Yeah.
Yeah, now we're on a step two.
Oh.
That does it.
Yeah.
We've already built the bed,
now we have to build the Murphy.
Yeah, nice.
We are screwing this bed into the stud.
So that's gonna mean it's extra, extra secure on the wall.
Make sure you read the instructions
because a Murphy bed is no joke.
You need to install it correctly for safety.
We are now putting the two pieces together.
No, we're gonna put them together.
Yeah.
Yeah, nice job, guys.
Fingers and toes.
Nice.
Oh my God.
It tripped.
Oh my God.
Okay.
You can't lock it without locking the top.
Yeah.
Okay, we finally reached the point in the process
where I got to put the handle on.
Graham called me over, he was like,
now's your time to shine.
So here I am, shining.
Okay, the Murphy bed has been built.
So exciting, it's so beautiful.
Now it's time to add a mattress.
This very comfy mattress is from Casper.
I've been sleeping on a Casper mattress
for just about a decade.
I've had various models and I just love their mattresses.
They're so comfy.
I wanna be in my bed basically all the time.
So I'm excited that Jodi now has a really comfy mattress
to sleep on.
Are you ready to watch the magic happen?
It's gonna be fun.
Oh my, this is so comfy.
Okay, so my Casper mattress is really comfy,
but this one is even pumpier.
Wow.
Let's flip the bed up, make sure everything works,
and then we're gonna be decorating tomorrow,
which is really exciting.
Wow, this is so awesome.
Okay, this bed is gorgeous.
Now we have all of this space to decorate,
which is what I'm tackling tomorrow.
I'll see you then.
Hi guys, welcome to a fresh new day.
We're gonna really pull this space together.
Yesterday, as you guys know, was Murphy bed heavy.
I'm gonna start off by adding
some functional entryway storage for Jodi.
If you've been here a while,
you're probably waiting for me
to place a Hemnes unit in this entryway.
Fun fact, the Hemnes has been discontinued at Ikea,
but they've replaced it with the Gulliberg cabinet,
and it basically looks the same.
It's like new and improved.
Oh, sorry.
Graham, let's talk about the Gulliberg cabinet.
New and improved knobs.
Hooks on the side.
Yeah, hooks for bags and...
Umbrellas on the side.
And we think that it's taller.
I think that it's taller
so you can slip more stuff underneath.
Let's place it.
The reason why I use this cabinet over and over again
is just because it fits in small spaces
and is so functional for so many shoes, accessories.
You can put hats, mitts, whatever in here.
Let's get this screwed into the wall.
Oh, you're just going straight on the wall, I see.
Okay.
Oh, I thought that was the cabinet.
You wanna...
Just drawing all over the fresh...
Sorry, I'm not at capacity today.
Okay, so I was finding the studs.
There are holes here, but they don't go into studs.
So we are gonna drill right in the center here.
Can I just say, you know,
me using a stud finder and doing this,
I did draw on the wall at first,
but if I can do it, you can do it.
More, yeah, more, yeah.
Nice.
Okay, this is...
Solid.
Wow, that is solid.
Jump on it.
No, because...
Okay, drawers.
Okay, so I'm gonna add a bumper to the door
because it does open all the way,
but it hits the corner of the unit.
No problem.
I'm just gonna put one of these clear bumpers on.
Usually use these for cabinets.
I'm just gonna put it right there.
Yeah.
Look at that.
So good.
So we're moving on to finishing this desk install,
the Murphy desk.
So Graham made this little bracket,
and this is what's gonna hold the desk
when Jody folds it down.
I'm going right into the stud
to make sure that this is very secure.
Nice.
Okay, so we have these little caps,
same as these caps,
and I'm just gonna pop them in.
Graham, I like these wooden ones.
Yeah, fun fact, you can get different types of wood caps,
and you can stain it so it's all the same color
that is the wood that you're using.
Okay, moment of truth.
Let's open it.
Graham, this is so cool.
Amazing.
She has so much workspace,
and the beauty is that she can put everything away
in the shelves,
pop it up.
And lock it.
Pop and lock it.
Who remembers?
Pop and lock it.
What's the dance?
Country, fat and hip hop it.
Pop and lock it.
Polka dot it.
Country, fat and hip hop it.
No, no.
No, no, no.
Triple and diagonal.
No.
We're just talking about
if we want to add some chain on this side,
because it's very secure,
but that side with the bracket
is obviously more stable than this side.
Like, this isn't a stud,
so it's like, this side cannot,
this is like.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
You can't do that on that side.
Yeah.
I think we should add the chain
on this side,
just to make it nice and taut,
like you said.
Two chains.
Okay, so the chain
is making it secure on both sides.
Stunning.
Graham, you think you can sit on this?
I for sure could.
Should I?
The mischievous eyes.
This is awesome.
Graham, thank you for your DIY service.
Just like to point out that
while we painted this,
it's also sealed with lacquer.
So it's like, very durable.
So she can like, put her like,
she can clean it.
She can.
And it's not gonna like,
wipe the paint away.
She can.
Okay, wanted to bring in
as much clothes storage as possible
for Jodi in the studio.
I love this alternative to a filing cabinet.
It's from Article.
There's a hole at the back for cords.
So we're gonna put her modem
and just like, everything in here.
And look, I think it's gonna fit perfectly.
Woo!
Look at that.
I know Jodi is a minimalist,
but I'm thinking because this needs
to be up a lot of the time,
when her bed is down,
I just wanted her to have a place
to put her computer when she's not using it,
pens, notebooks.
And,
she also has all of this storage in here.
This is such an awesome solution.
Thank you, Graham.
I've been blessed by the DIY gods.
I love to hear it.
That everything worked out here.
I love to hear it.
Okay, so next we're gonna organize these cords
and hide them.
There's a big power bar behind the cabinet.
Graham tip, he loves to organize cords with zip ties.
I love when we organize people's cords
because look how neat and tidy it is.
No cords down here.
And as if that wasn't enough,
we're adding one of these to the desk
so she can plug her computer or her phone
right into this.
Let me show you.
Graham is cutting a hole on the top of this desk.
I'm feeding it through
and then securing it with two screws on either side.
Don't worry you guys,
we're gonna do a paint touch-up after.
Okay, so finishing off this desk nook
with this beautiful article desk chair.
Look at this color.
Look at these.
Look at these colors.
So good.
Okay, so it'll just be tucked like this
when the desk is up.
And then let's put the desk down.
Look at that.
So you might notice that the desk chair
is looking a bit short.
We knew going in that we wanted to turn this into a desk
but that it was a little bit higher
than your average desk size.
Because there's the rad here,
we couldn't pack it.
So fun fact,
you can actually get replacement pistons
for your desk chairs to make them taller.
So we've ordered one.
It's on the way.
We wanted to wait till we were in the space
to see how much more height we need for the chair.
Great solve, great hack for you guys at home.
Okay, so Jodi mentioned
she's in need of more kitchen prep space
and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity
to bring in some sort of dining table for her as well.
So to solve this,
of course I asked the one and only handyman Graham
to come up with a really cool DIY.
He actually walks you through step-by-step
on his channel, How To Make This.
It's a Murphy table for a very small space.
It's approachable.
He shows you step-by-step.
So go watch that now.
He's gonna install it
and then reveal it to me in one moment.
A few moments later.
Okay, I was hiding in the bathroom
so I wouldn't see the rest of the install.
I did see a couple of the first steps
and I was gasping behind the scenes
and then they sent me to the bathroom.
They banished me.
So I'm so excited to see this.
Okay, Graham, let's see what you got.
Can I open my eyes?
Yes.
Three, two, one.
What?
Look at this baby.
Sorry, I'm a little bit speechless
because I'm like, how is this gonna turn into a table?
Yeah.
Okay, wait, first of all, did you attach this to the stove?
No, this is attached 100% to the wall.
We couldn't attach it to the stove because...
Fire safety?
Yes, exactly.
Okay.
And the height of it has to be like
below the cooktop surface
and the width of it has to be before the oven door.
So like, it doesn't extend over top of the oven door.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, but this is really cute
because I feel like she could put oil
and like salt and pepper and stuff.
Show me how this opens.
Okay, so there's a little latch here
and that's just like, if she walks by,
so it doesn't like open,
doesn't like, it's not a tripping hazard.
Sorry, the way you reenacted that.
It's not a tripping hazard.
Sorry, there's a latch?
There's a little latch.
Cute, okay, love it.
So that it stays closed when it's closed.
I call this the Murphception.
It folds like three different ways.
Okay, whoa.
So first, it folds open and then the legs come down.
What?
And then the feet have to open.
Oh my goodness me.
I'm like, okay, sorry, I say this every DIY
but I am constantly blown away by you.
Like, you constantly just surprise me.
You take like the craziest problem
that I present you with and you find a solution.
And my thought process is that Jodi
can roll over the office chair
and that's why I wanted to get her,
that's why I wanted to get her an office chair
that looked more elevated.
It's like multi-purpose.
So she can sit at the office chair
and have her dinner, lunch, breakfast, all the meals.
She can also prep.
She can prep.
She can hike and prep.
Amazing.
Okay, let's fold it up.
I wanna see how it folds up.
It's really easy.
You just let the feet kind of hit the back.
Yep.
Of the board.
Oh my gosh, Ram.
This folds down and then you just lock it.
I hope you know how incredible this is.
Thank you.
This is amazing.
I love the way it looks when it's folded down.
Okay.
Well, I'm sure your mind is also blown.
Let's move on.
We're gonna put a rug down.
Okay, I picked this rug
because I wanted to play off the blue tones of the desk.
It is so beautiful.
This is from Article, you guys.
I love it.
It's so cozy and very much in Jodi's style.
Okay, of course I had to bring in a Two Pages Roman shade.
You guys know I use Two Pages a lot in makeovers
because they have standard sizes for windows,
but you can also get custom sizes made as well.
I went for stripes to play off the pattern
and color of the rug.
Of course, it ties in so nicely with the desk area.
We got blackout fabric added to the back of these,
so it's nice and dark for her at night.
I'm wheeling the coffee table in.
This is from Expand Furniture,
the same company that made the bed.
So I'll be setting this up as a coffee table,
but I wanted to show you guys what it can do first.
So I'm pushing this lever,
literally folds up,
and then watch this.
You can literally turn this,
and it opens to be a full-size dining table.
Now, Graham already made her
an awesome prep station dining table,
but I thought that this would just be cool for her to have
if she ever needs more table space.
But I wanna fold this up.
Let's twist it back.
So as you guys know,
Jodi mentioned that she likes to sit low to the ground.
So I thought we could just have this as the coffee table.
So I have these cute poofs.
I feel like this is such a cute little setup for Jodi.
I'm also chuckling to myself
because we have added so much table space in this apartment.
Let's keep going.
I need to open the bed because I need to make it.
So I thought that would be a good opportunity
to show you how this collapses
and where she'll need to put it when she has her bed down.
Now I'm putting the poofs over here.
Okay, and I'm gonna pull down the bed.
Nice.
I'm gonna hang this picture that Jodi had.
I think it works so perfectly with the vibe.
Need to call in Amanda.
It's not usually her role, but here we are.
This looks so good.
It matches the wall perfectly.
I think Jodi thrifted this.
Also, the thing I love about this bed
is that it gives so much clearance.
So the mattress isn't against the wall,
which means that we could have an art print here,
which is great.
Okay, let's make the bed.
This is to hold the mattress in place
so that when the bed is being put up,
the mattress doesn't shift downwards.
This beautiful linen bedding is from Article.
I love how it's a cream.
It plays off the wall color so nicely.
The space is really coming together.
I'm, of course, steaming the bedding
so it looks fresh and crisp.
Okay, I'm placing a side table on this side.
There is a plug so she can charge her phone.
I'm just gonna place it right here.
Why was that so funny?
I thought it was way shorter.
I'm hanging this beautiful art piece here.
It's from Minted.
Love Minted for all sorts of beautifully framed artwork.
I love making Ikea cabinets like this
feel custom with new knobs.
These knobs are from Vida V.
I'm adding a couple of hooks on the back of Jodi's door
so she can hang her jackets, her bags, whatever she needs.
These are from Vida V, and they match the style perfectly.
I'm adding a full-length mirror here.
Obviously, when the bed is up,
she'll be able to see her outfit in full length,
but I also think that this just brightens the space so much.
Cute, okay, let me put the poofs back.
Okay, that was a super productive day.
I will see you guys tomorrow for finishing touches
and the reveal to Jodi.
It's a new day.
It's a reveal day.
I'm really excited for Jodi to see this space.
After we showed off the camera yesterday,
we realized that the coffee table
actually can stay on the ground underneath the bed.
Jodi doesn't have to move it at all, which is so great.
It's time for finishing touches.
I am styling the bed with a couple of cushions
and a cozy throw blanket.
I'm placing this peacock lamp on her side table.
This fun find is from Homestead.
I'm adding some books, a tray, a candle,
and a dish to the windowsill.
I'm also adding a hint of green.
I'm placing a rechargeable lamp and a key dish
on the shoe cabinet to create a cute little entryway vibe.
Now I'm moving on to styling these shelves.
I'm placing a woven lamp she can use as a desk lamp
and tuck away when the desk is closed.
I'm adding some baskets for storage,
some cute coffee table books, some coasters.
I'm placing some art, a pencil holder, a candle,
and finally, a cute trinket dish.
Lastly, I'm placing a washable entry mat
from Ruggable by the front door.
It is time to bring in Jodi for the reveal.
This is a tiny space,
but I feel like I have so many things to show her.
Let's bring her in.
Are you excited?
Nervous?
I'm so excited!
Okay, I want you to walk me through
what your studio looked like before.
You come in, and it was just kind of like a mattress,
and white walls, and then some DIY furniture.
You're gonna open your eyes,
and this is your sleeping setup, okay?
What?
So this is like part one.
On the count of three, I want you to open your eyes, okay?
Okay.
One, two, three.
Whoa.
What?
That is crazy.
I was, that is so crazy.
Oh my God.
What?
It's like a hotel room.
I'm actually floored.
Wow, this is so beautiful.
Oh my God, and the table top.
I know, it looks so good there.
So good.
Are these limewash?
Yeah.
What?
We made you a little entryway,
so you have so much storage here.
Yeah.
We got you blackout curtains,
so it's gonna be so nice and dark in here when you sleep.
This, we used your existing bookshelf,
and we made this desk panel that comes down,
so everything can fold up.
Are you ready to see the living space?
Yes.
You're like, wait, where?
We're gonna do another reveal.
Okay, stand by.
Okay.
I'm still just like so stunned.
Okay, open.
It's like, where did it go?
It's a Murphy bed, yeah.
Oh my God, and the floor pillows.
Wait, this is so cool.
Yeah, so GrandDIY, this is free for extra prep space,
but you can also have a little dining table.
Yeah, wow.
I can eat somewhere.
This also folds upwards.
It's kind of like an ironing board,
so it goes up and down.
I was gonna say, where did it come from?
Yeah, it was under the bed, yeah.
And then that, I don't know if you noticed before,
but it just goes like flush against the stove.
I love it.
I'm so glad.
It's actually so crazy.
I'm so glad you like it.
Next up on AGTV, guess what?
We're bringing you yet another episode of Studio Fix.
You guys are in for a treat.
This one is moody, vibey.
It's a really cool style.
Make sure you hit that subscribe button
so you don't miss when I upload next.
And as always, I'll see you next time.
Bye.
I'm pretending to be really interested.
Show me again how high I go.
The other one's twice as high.
It's just like, it's very physical.
It is?
Yeah.
Like you're literally painting.
Yes.
I have a great idea.
Can you give me a piggyback ride?
No.
So I don't have a stand, but I can still paint,
but I'm not like standing.
Great idea.
Is that a yes?
