FREE campsite at Silver City, ID. Tour 1880s ghost town & history. Recommend you GO or NOT?!
RECORDED October 2020 PUBLISHED 23-Oct-20 My mom told me not to go, because of the punishing dirt road 40 years ago. I went anyway. Silver City, Idaho was a thriving mining town… in the 1880s. Today, it is ghost town filled history and mystery. It even has many part-time residents during the summer months, and even more tourists. I has a sweet, creekside BLM campsite a simple 3 min walk from center town that was free of charge. One can camp there for up 14 days. You will walk with me in the ghost town at midnight on dirt streets, without street lights, and very few residential lights… while awash in full moon light so bright it makes shadows Would I recommend… Silver City, Idaho for you? Yes and no. Stay to the end to find out my final answer.
