Why This Scattered Home Design Might Be the Future of Living | El Grove Family Home
El Grove Family Home by Olson Kundig is a 270-square-meter residence in Valle de Guadalupe, designed as a collection of small, pavilion-like volumes rather than a single unified structure. Arranged across a triangular site, the house integrates with its landscape through an entry sequence lined with olive trees, referencing the region’s agricultural heritage. Each volume serves a distinct function—separating private and communal spaces—while outdoor pathways and courtyards connect them, encouraging movement through open air. With a restrained material palette of brick and steel, the design emphasizes durability, simplicity, and a close relationship between architecture and its natural surroundings.
