A new nightmare begins in Resident Evil (2026) — a fresh survival horror reboot inspired by Capcom’s legendary video game franchise.

Directed by Zach Cregger, the film follows Bryan, a medical courier who is pulled into a terrifying outbreak while trying to complete an important delivery. As infected creatures overrun the night, Bryan must fight to survive while uncovering the horror spreading around him.

Unlike previous Resident Evil films, this reboot tells an original story set within the game universe rather than retelling the arcs of established characters like Leon, Jill, or Claire. Reports note that the movie is designed to honor the tone of the games while introducing new characters and a new survival-driven storyline.
