A former senior advisor at the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
has been indicted. He's accused of engaging in a scheme to hide information about COVID
and suppress the narrative that the virus originated from the Wuhan lab.
David Warren served as a senior advisor from 2006 through 2022 under Dr. Anthony Fauci.
The Justice Department accuses Warrens of hiding information and falsifying records to suppress
alternative theories about the origins of COVID-19. This includes the narrative that
the virus leaked from a Wuhan lab. Warrens is also accused of receiving gifts in exchange
for promoting the theory that COVID-19 had a natural origin. According to the indictment,
Warrens and some co-conspirators concealed communications about research grants and
funding by using private email accounts. One co-conspirator is not identified by name
but matches Peter Daszak. He helped direct U.S. government funding to a high-level laboratory
in Wuhan where COVID-19 first emerged. Warrens faces several charges including conspiracy against
the U.S. as well as destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who served under Trump's first administration, posted on
In March of 2020, I made clear the virus almost certainly came from the Wuhan lab.
A massive campaign to undermine what we knew was undertaken. To call this an abuse of public trust
is an understatement. Senator Tom Cotton also commented, pointing out that COVID
leaked from a lab in communist China was never a conspiracy. It was common sense.
