A creative day in the gallery turned into a unique minimalist aquascape build.
The goal was to create a shallow-style layout using Red Moor wood, striking stones, and island patches of dwarf hairgrass—all built around a clean, open composition. This time, the fish choice came first: Sumatra tiger barbs (Sumi), adding movement and contrast to the minimal design.
From key layout decisions and flow considerations to detailed hardscape work and planting, this build explores a different approach to aquascaping. After a few weeks, we revisit the tank to see how it evolved—what worked, what didn’t, and what could be improved.
