Hi. I'm Jennifer.
I invite you to take a grammar test.
I know some of you don't love grammar,
and maybe you like tests even less,
but this one is going to help you.
Tests should be tools for us to measure our progress.
Mistakes tell us where we need to improve
and what we need to study.
Use these 20 questions to guide your English studies.
Whatever you need to learn,
we can study together.
Tell me your score at the end, okay?
My parents are not home right now.
I...I don't like watching baseball games.
Do you?
That was...that was the smartest decision.
My friend was taking a shower when I called,
so she didn't answer.
I'm going to meet my friends this weekend.
Note in everyday American English
this sounds like gonna.
I'm gonna meet.
I'm gonna meet my friends this weekend.
My friend is very kind.
She...she always helps me when I ask.
Clarice and I have known each other
since childhood.
Before...before you leave,
can you help me carry this box upstairs?
Have you...have you already finished the assignment?
It can be difficult to make some people
change their mind on certain subjects.
There aren't many people who have the right skill set.
Look closely at the punctuation.
I...I should have told you.
I'm sorry I didn't.
I never know...
I never know what I should buy for a birthday present.
That story has been told a thousand times.
Most language learners recognize
that grammar is the foundation.
The test is next week,
and the teacher clearly stated that...
If anyone had any questions,
they could go to her office hours.
Were I a millionaire,
I would have my chauffeur take me everywhere.
That's my dream.
How did you do?
If you'd like, you can share your score in the comments.
It's more important to take note
of the questions you missed.
What do you need to study?
Look in the video description
to understand what grammar topic
each question is about.
Please don't worry if you got half the questions wrong.
It means you're intermediate
and you're moving towards advanced English.
If you did very well on this test,
congratulations!
I invite high-intermediate and advanced students
to join my English with Jennifer community on Patreon
where we practice all skills for confident,
effective communication.
