Phillies vs. Braves full game highlights from 4/26/26
For the Philadelphia Phillies, they go after game three against the Atlanta Braves.
They haven't won a series this year since the first week of April.
As Philly ended their 10-game losing streak last night with an 8-5 victory,
the Braves still have the best record in Major League Baseball at 19-9.
And there is Sale going for career win number 150 today.
Swing and a miss, three pitches, down goes Turner.
Well, technically, it's one of the slowest sliders in the game,
but it's also one of the nastiest.
Struck him out!
Beautiful slider and a beautiful start on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
They'll score into the bottom of the first inning,
and the Braves taking their first hacks at Aaron Nola.
Yeah, the ball was hit well, but it's a ball that I think Drake could catch in the air.
He just didn't glove it.
Tried to get recover to throw him out,
but LaTunia turned on the afterburners there at the end.
The Braves had their first knock of the game.
Here's Drake Baldwin, who is one for nine in the series.
And he hammers.
Baldwin saw a fastball he liked, and there are two on with nobody out.
For Nola, just one win.
That was in a game on April 3rd at Colorado.
In fact, the Phillies have lost his last six starts,
and he's posted a 6'46 ERA in that span.
Braves trying to make some noise early.
Matt Olsen now.
Matt Olsen hits it high.
Olsen!
And the Braves jump on Nola with a three-run homer by Matt Olsen, his eighth of the year.
Three batters in.
Three to nothing, Atlanta.
Now we start the second.
Felix Reyes, rookie, just his fifth big league game,
and his first plate appearance last Saturday was against Sale,
and he hit a home run off of him.
It was the only run that Sale gave up, and that started Philadelphia.
Whoa!
He caught that!
Chris Sale on the-
Here's the one-two pitch on the way to Garcia.
Swung on miss for strike three,
and with that strikeout, Chris Sale has now passed Chuck Finley
for 28th all-time on the career strikeout list.
Sale looking for a one-two-three inning and six up and six down to begin the game.
He got him!
Four strikeouts through two innings.
Six up, six down.
Mauricio Dubon, first up for the Braves here in inning number two.
There's a fly ball to deep right center field.
Going back with urgency Moore.
He's to the track.
He's to the wall, and he goes into the wall,
and he can't come up with it.
Dubon off to the races.
Around second.
Phillies at the cutoff, man.
Throw to third.
Head for a slide.
He's in there!
Dylan Moore just rammed into the wall.
Got leather on it, but he couldn't hold on as he was jolted by the right center field wall,
and it's three bags for Dubon.
Eli won for six in the series.
Base hit will give him his fifth RBI of the season.
White drills it deep to left.
Tremendous at bat after getting down 0-2 for Eli White.
Second homer of the season.
And the Braves all over Arenola here early.
Ronald Acuna with a single and a run scored in the first inning.
This will be challenged by Ronald Acuna.
Ronald hasn't been great in these.
Let's see what happens.
It is a ball.
Well, he saw that one well.
That missed by a pretty good margin.
That missed by two and a half inches.
Ronald now four for ten.
And he earns himself a one-out walk here in the second.
Baldwin, sharp single, last inning.
Ronald goes for second.
He's safe.
He stole one last night.
He gets another here on Sunday.
And for Acuna, that is his sixth steal in ten tries this year.
Here's the 1-0 pitch.
And Baldwin punches one in the right field down the line.
Acuna coming around third base.
He's going to score.
The throw comes in.
It's cut off.
And it's an RBI single out of Drake Baldwin, who's two for two.
And it's 6-0 Braves.
They are squaring up Aranola today.
Popped up.
Marshawn.
Uh-oh.
What a catch.
Holy cow.
With the sun and some of the wind, the ball's moving quite a bit, as you said.
A lot of spin to it.
Pretty athletic play by Marshawn.
Albies grabbed it out his first time up.
Fly ball, left field.
Reyes is out there.
Plenty of room out left.
And he makes the catch.
And so Marshawn hit by the pitch.
And it's the first base runner of the game for the Phillies.
Turner struck out against Sale leading off the ballgame.
That one's hit sharply.
Back through the middle.
It's a base hit.
The first one of the game for the Phillies.
And Trey Turner is aboard.
Kyle Schwarber is coming up.
They can put a little dent in this inning right here in the game.
Inside ball four.
That'll load him up.
Great A.B.
Really good A.B.
There's been a couple of them in this inning.
And the bases are loaded.
And here comes Harper.
The hottest of all Philly hitters.
Harper two for 13 against Chris Sale.
You have two titans in the game going head to head here in the top of the third inning.
Bases loaded.
Two down.
Sale versus Harper.
Got him swinging.
Fastball 90-80.
Red line to fastball.
Right on by Harper.
And Chris Sale comes back and wins that showdown.
Six nothing Braves here in the top of the fourth.
He struck him out.
Just corkscrewed him into the ground with that slider.
And that strikeout number six for Chris Sale.
One down here in the fourth inning.
And he fans the Braves.
Slider struck him out.
Three straight strikeouts for Sale.
Going back to the final out of the third inning.
And he has seven for the game.
And the nine-time all-star deals a one-two.
He strikes out the side.
Season high eight K's for Sale.
And this time it's all gas to bone.
So Aaron Nola walks Drake Baldwin.
So now the bases will be loaded for Matt Olsen.
Matt Olsen had the big blow in the first to get things going.
Swing and a miss.
He went with a cutter and he got the strikeout.
Honestly that cutter was pretty much middle middle.
But Olsen just flat out swung underneath it.
Ozzie Albies over two with a ground out and a fly out.
Albies lifts that one to right.
Garcia is back in there.
Makes the catch.
And Aaron works out of the bases loaded jab.
Chris Sale out there for his sixth inning of work.
Schwerver Harper and Reyes in the top of the sixth inning.
Braves have a 6-0 lead on the Phillies.
Sales 3-2 and a ground ball to first.
Taken on the second hop by Olsen.
Feeds to the bag.
Sales there.
Braves do have bullpen action behind Sale.
It's because he's at 96 pitches.
It's going to be Olsen again.
Grounders here to start the sixth.
Schwerver and Harper both retired.
And after two plays covering first.
I think Drake just wants to give him a chance to catch his breath.
He's 37.
Let's give him a little blow out there on the mound.
Give him time to gather himself.
Face a guy who has made some pretty good contact off him.
Sales 0-2.
Sent out to short.
Taken on a series of bounces by Mateo.
Flings it across.
There's out number three.
And a 1-2-3 sixth inning by Sale.
And six scoreless innings today for Chris Sale.
He strikes out nine.
And he leads the way for Atlanta.
One out for Raphael Marchand.
The Braves can hold on and win it.
They would improve to 5-0 in rubber games this year.
Ground ball to third.
Under the glove of Riley.
Kind of nonchalant on that.
And then Mateo is going to go run it down.
And Marchand is going to pull in the second base.
The ball was hit well.
But this is a play that Riley makes it a sleepy.
That's a backhander.
Sort of locked his feet up but didn't stay with it.
Two down for Kyle Schwerver.
Phillies have had just two base runners since that bases loaded strikeout.
To Harper in the third inning.
Fly ball right field.
Acuna is back.
It is gone.
Two run home run for Kyle Schwerver.
And the Phillies are finally on the board here in the eighth inning.
It is a 6-2 game.
It's RBI's 16 and 17 form.
And also pushes them over 800 RBI's for his career.
Harper takes a ball outside.
Drake Baldwin wants to challenge this first pitch.
We're going to get our ninth challenge.
There it is.
Record tying ninth challenge.
And it is a strike called.
The Phillies bench is pretty upset about something.
Complaining about the timing.
Yes.
It is.
I will say this.
It's been a little bit inconsistent among umpires.
Bumper got it.
6-2 Braves.
Bottom of the eighth for Jorge Mateo.
Runner at first one out.
That one's line.
Caught by Alec Baum high in the air.
Baum fires it back across to Harper.
And that will end the frame.
That will send us to the ninth.
And it's not a safe situation.
But Suarez will try to come on here and get the final three outs.
With Suarez he's willing to pitch in any situation.
Has been great so far over his 12 games.
12 strikeouts.
And he struck him out.
Fastball 99.
Express train heater right on by the swinging batter.
And one down in the ninth.
Out towards Ronald Acuna Jr.
Bathed in sunlight.
He makes the catch.
Two down in the ninth.
Meanwhile the Phillies.
One out away from losing 11 of their last 12 games.
Acuna waits out there in right field.
Braves win.
For Chris Sale.
Career win number 150.
The Braves are the first team in the big leagues to 20 wins this year.
