THE SIN THE DEATH THE GRACE Rom 5-6 and 1 Cor. 15
THE SIN, THE DEATH, THE GRACE, Rom. 5-6 and 1 Cor. 15 show the relationship between 1 Corinthians 15 and Romans 5:12-6:14. Paul argues that through one "the sin" entered the world and "the death" by "the" sin, so that "the death passed upon all men, because all sinned.
It is this very specific language that is carried through Romans 5, a clear parallel to 1 Corinthians 15 in structure and subject matter.
Since it is "the sin" and "the death" which is introduced through Adam's transgression, that is the power of death that all men were under, not due to inheriting of Adam's sin because Paul clearly says even over those who did not sin according to the "likeness" of Adam's transgression.
It was their own sin that brought them under the power of "the sin" and "the death" introduced by Adam.
Thus, it is covenant death as can be seen by it's remedy which is "the grace" or "covenant" life as expressed in Rom. 5:17.
See how Paul develops this death in Romans 5 and 6, and it's future demise in relationship to baptism for the first century believers.
