JPN vs CAN Highlights Week 3 Women s VNL 2024

All the work, all the suffering, all the sacrifice is to have these opportunities where you just have to give everything. It folds the eyes of the Canadian block just for that fraction of a second long enough for that Koga to be an attacking front row player. Just good ball into King, but Reich saves set point one. And Alexa Gray serving to stay in the set. Koga tips back of the... Japan being really pushed by Canada. The number of points where they're having to resort to different solutions. It's not just being able to swing strong. Hayashi a couple of times here at the end playing with the open hand. But lots of encouraging times from Canada holding up really well in reception and defense. She stays at home and then makes a small move and then the last little second. Excellent footwork by Ari, never took herself out of the play. Ishikawa, 7-3. Johnston with the first touch. Managed to return it though. There she is, back setting, that's a Koga. The first contact is great, Fukudomi flings it back over herself. Timeout Canada. 12-11. Yamada just in to breathe. Oh, but Reich from backcourt. That's explosive. Launches at this ball. Off two steps and gives it everything. Inouye serving for a 2-0 lead. Received by Gray. Out there to Van Rijk. Fatal defeat with their Olympic ambitions at stake. And that was Hayashi at 1.73m making the block on Kira Van Rijk. One of the deadliest hitters. She nearly took her arm off me that swing. Incredible. And bearing in mind we didn't even think she was going to be on the court. Hayashi. Van Rijk. Oh, she has come to play. Johnston. What a winner on the high ball. Two attacks, one block. And two ace serves. Kira and Gray have ticked all three boxes in the ABS. Oh, just poked that one backcourt as well. Just some awareness of where Hayashi is on the court. Koga into Jost. Three. Great set. Van Rijk. Once too many. Kennedy's made the adjustment. Need the side out. Inouye gets the side out. Yamada. Now Gray takes it off her. Jumps to level. Inouye. Recycled. Jost is going to put this one out to Gray. Big swing. Big touch. What an opportunity though for Canada. And Gray. Into Yamada. Flaps her hand at it. Reaches. Jost. Into three. Gray. Two-one. Two. White with the ace. The clean ace on Kojima. Two-four. Koga down the line. Jost. Good touch to Maglio. Gives him a three-point lead. He featured late against Korea as well. First time we've seen her tonight. Knocked down the floor there. Thanks to a brilliant dig by Van Rijk. Canada scrapping for everything. And Van Rijk. White. Throws that one in. Koga. Not again. Japan do so well. And there is that block to make sure the ball stays off the floor. Can't keep that off the floor though. Oh, Lex and Gray. He decides to leave that. Koga. Blocked. Van Rijk and Maglio. Surely Koga's going straight down the middle at Gray. Yes, she is. Better touch this time by Gray. Van Rijk. Watch. And Gray. Over on the first ball. In Uesaki. The superb dig. Van Rijk outside the sideline. Free ball. Has to be a free ball. Has to go. Finishes the job. Hilary Johnson. 24-20. She's on 22 points. Van Rijk on 23. Still set point. To force us to five. Three-go searching. Gray. The one-foot Yahoo! We have two. Alexa Gray. And to have Van Rijk as your second option. Sure. Pretty handy. Ayashi receives. Back. Just the one ace serve for her. 25-point haul. Koga. Great angle. The turn on the first ball. To the middle. The block. Good ******* doming. There's Kojima. Got the Libros confused. Johnson. Tuck again. This is volleyball and it's very... Arakuda serve. Yeah. And away it goes. Overpassed. Yamada. Composed. So is Jost. Gray. Received by Hayashi. Over to Koga. Oh, she had to have killed the solution. Let me read earlier. I've seen it a couple of times already tonight. That pipe inside. Inoue. Jasmine White. 13-12. Hayashi. Over to Hibasaki. And down. What a moment. Kira Van Rijk serving for the match. Japan need the side out. Bronson serving for the match.
