Eden is now but a fading memory.
Life outside those golden gates is not easy.
The earth no longer gives its fruit freely.
This is a story about the life of mankind after being cast out of the Garden of Eden.
Once, everything they desired was within reach.
They had only to pluck the fruit and eat.
But now, they must toil and struggle to put food upon the table.
Man must sweat, struggle and dream.
Adam and Eve no longer walk upon gold,
but upon dust.
Let's have lunch together.
Yet in this harsh land, they built something new.
A family.
But in the midst of dust and thorns, love was born.
Cain, the eldest, a hard worker who conquered the earth.
And Abel, the younger, the gentle soul who watched over the flocks.
Why won't you grow? I've given you the best of everything I have.
Look at him.
Well, I have to risk my life against these cursed thorns.
Brother, rest for a moment.
Mother has prepared food for us.
Look at the sky. The colours are so beautiful today.
Beauty doesn't fill your stomach, Abel. Hard work does.
Go back to your sheep. I still have work to finish.
My sons, remember what I told you. Everything we have belongs to him.
Tomorrow, we shall bring our offerings of thanks.
Give your very best, for he is the giver of life.
Abel chose the firstborn of his flock, the most perfect of all,
without a single blemish, to offer unto the Lord.
Meanwhile, Cain took some of the fruit of the soil as an offering to God.
The depiction of Cain mixing his harvest with spoiled produce in this animation
is not explicitly stated in the Bible.
This portrayal is an artistic interpretation based on perspectives and teachings held by some
and is used to convey the moral message of the story of Cain and Abel.

and visual interpretation presented in this animation.
Now the time had come.
The altar of sacrifice was prepared.
It was not about the amount.
It was not about the kind.
It was about the heart that brought it.
A glorious, divine light beamed down from the heavens, filling Abel's altar.
The Lord chose Abel's offering.
Cain, why is your heart so angry?
Why do you look so dejected?
You will be accepted if you do what is right.
But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out.
Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you.
But you must subdue it and be its master.
Cain's heart was consumed by jealousy and disappointment.
He could not accept the fact that his offering had not been chosen by God.
Abel, come with me to the field.
I want to show you something.
Something special.
Of course, brother.
I'm glad we can talk.
Oh, yeah.
I'm also glad we can talk.
Wow, this is so beautiful.
Brother, come look at this.
I've never been here before.
Why did you take me here earlier?
God's love for us is truly so great.
I don't know.
Am I supposed to watch my brother all the time?
Am I my brother's guardian?
What have you done?
Listen.
Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground.
Now you are cursed and banished from the ground,
which has swallowed your brother's blood.
No longer will the ground yield good crops for you,
no matter how hard you work.
From now on, you will be a homeless wanderer on the earth.
My punishment is too great.
Anyone who meets me will kill me.
For I will give a sevenfold punishment to anyone who kills you.
The Lord set a mark upon his forehead as a sign of protection
so that no one would slay him.
Even after all that Cain had done,
God still cared for him.
And there lay Abel's cold, lifeless body,
amidst his parents' tears as they fell upon the earth.
Death had arrived.
Sin had taken its victim.
But the Creator never truly left.
The world may be full of shadows,
but the light will always find a way back.
