What's up everybody, welcome back to another drawing tutorial.
Animal today, a horse with a bridle.
I haven't drawn a horse in ages.
They're such cool animals, aren't they?
Majestic.
Now let's try this.
Landscape page, pencil eraser, hit pause.
If I go too fast, I'm going to start with our horsey's eye.
Big curve up and over.
I'm going to give some spiky sort of eyelashes kind of there.
And then this bottom of the eye comes down.
Move into here.
So horses sometimes have like dark skin around the eyeball.
So say like if we drew a brown sort of iris kind of here.
It's kind of all brown, but see if I did that and then we go black.
You could do the whole thing black of course if you wanted.
As far as I know, horses eyes are horizontal.
Their pupils are.
Go like this.
Kind of like a frog, which is kind of cool.
And then we have sort of like a brow sort of that goes this way.
Right around sort of the back of the head there.
And we could have some eyelid lines like coming up.
Kind of like he's surprised.
And then some coming down here.
So there's like the snout, right?
So this long part.
So it can be sort of textured and sort of fuzzy as well.
If you wanted like little dots and stuff.
So like this coming down from the eye.
And then so the other side of this looks like here.
And the bridle sort of comes across the snout here.
But we'll just do the long face.
Why the long face?
And then bump this around his nostril.
And the sort of big lip that horses have, you know.
It's like the mouth area.
And he's got the bit between his teeth, right?
So it's kind of like a bar in there.
And his bottom lip and chin sort of here.
So the nostril, so big sort of round nostril here.
Black inside.
And there is sort of like skin around it.
And sort of a bit of the other nostril.
But you can like, you can only see like a line of it sort of there.
Nothing major.
There's like the bones of his nose and stuff.
To draw that up his head.
So the other eye is slightly, well you could see his sort of eyebrow.
Sort of shaped like a bump.
Sort of sticking out here.
And it goes underneath his hair there.
Like a little bit of the eyelashes.
In the eyeball.
Jutting out here a little bit.
Because it's just black I'd say really.
Because sometimes a horse's eyes can appear like pure black.
But it's just really dark brown, black around it, I think.
So I'll keep going, right?
So the jaw and the bridle.
So I'll do the, just the face shape first.
So the face kind of goes this way, right?
And he's got this big sweeping jaw that like starts up at his eye.
So it's like above the eye even.
Very big.
Looks like a big round jaw.
So I want to do a bridle on this one.
You could leave it just a horse head.
But I'm going to do the bridle that comes across and the bit in the mouth.
So it's like going into the corner of his mouth here, right?
So you just have a bit of a bar sticking out here.
And then there's a ring.
These come in lots of different shapes now and stuff.
But this generally is the shape for this one.
And it seems to go into a strap.
It comes over the snout like that, right?
And I'll just, I'll let it like bump off a bit.
This just looks more realistic.
I'll just do some edge lines to this leather.
So then it kind of goes up this way.
So it goes like up and then there's a bit that goes down.
But we'll just do this first.
I'll give it an edge.
And there's a bit that comes down across the cheek, right?
So it goes under the chin.
So it kind of all connects in here.
It's not entirely clear how it all connects.
But if I was a strap, so I would be up here.
And then maybe like a buckle.
Like a piece of metal.
Like that maybe.
And then it has what looks like a flower.
Like a decorative brooch.
It's kind of like a royal looking horse, right?
And then it comes across the forehead.
So there's like a little bit of eye bone or something there.
And then this comes across, right?
And another strap going behind his ear.
Across the forehead.
And then this has some sort of edges to it.
And then it's like this star-like brooch, right?
It's like a sundial or something like that, anyway.
Coming out from the head.
And then there's hair, right?
So there's like long, long strands of hair here.
Starting here, right?
But I'll finish this brooch because it has like some circles inside.
Just like a bullseye sort of thing going on.
Circles inside circles inside circles.
Okay, so...
So like the ears come out from there.
So this is like another piece of strapping or something there.
And then the ear.
So big, pointy ear.
Like that sort of a thing.
And then this is all hair.
And then like a bit of the ear sticking up on this side.
Which of it can we see?
Oh, we can see the other side as well, I think.
Well, you could have it turned that way.
You don't... that doesn't look too bad.
But I think I want to see like a bit of the inside of this.
So it's kind of up to you.
So I'm just going to do another line kind of like that.
All right, and then there's like lots of hair coming out from behind.
You know, it's like the mane is being blown this way.
So just lots of like flowing hair spikes all out there.
And I like it's blowing that way and sort of down this way.
So moving like two directions.
So say the bit that goes, say, this way.
So it's like it's all flat sort of to the horse's head, right?
Coming down the neck.
So just to come in now.
So a lot of these like just sort of hair spikes and stuff.
Trying to get it as naturally sort of flowing down as I can now.
It's like some neck muscles there.
Like texture lines and all the hair and stuff.
It's a very long, thin mane.
Kind of like that.
And there's some I think that comes down on the back as well.
We'll just get like the neck sort of comes down here just from this part of the bridle, right?
So just coming down here like another sort of neckline that way.
And then so I think there's some more hair sort of following the shoulder that way.
And then the back I think it's just the end of the body is there.
So it's like a belly.
And maybe it just goes like down here.
It's like some more sort of necklines and stuff.
That way.
And then some neck here most likely.
So say if I was a horse neck I would go that way.
I think.
Okay.
Then of course if you want to add like longer sort of hair going that way maybe.
So the body.
Body going that way.
All right.
So that's like the back.
That's the belly.
That's like a shoulder.
It's under this.
Just add some more texture to this hair maybe.
Okay that's how to draw a horse with a bridle.
Hope it's helpful.
Thanks for watching.
See you in the next one.
Bye.
