For Those Learning to Let Go

As the cold fades in Northern Finland, a new season brings profound personal change and a need to embrace the unknown. Through the quiet rhythm of daily life and reflection, a shift in perspective emerges, highlighting the beauty of letting go to make space for what comes next.
It's April here in the north of Finland.
It means winter is slowly stepping aside to make room for spring.
It is a change that has been long awaited, yet somehow every year it still feels a little
difficult. Letting go of winter with all its stillness, its silence, its strange kind of beauty
brings up a quiet resistance inside, as if part of us wants to hold on just a little longer.
But nothing stays. And as always, life moves on. Not in a rush, not with urgency, but with a
patient unfolding. And we too, learn again how to move with it. Softly, slowly, one step at a time.
As here in the north, where the seasons gently shape our lives through the year,
we change with them, whether we're ready or not. Change has never come easily to me.
It always takes time to truly take it in, to accept that something familiar is becoming
something new. And now, as I move into a new season, I also feel myself stepping into a new
rhythm of life. One that I don't fully understand yet, but I'm slowly learning to trust. Because
everything is always shifting, and we are always quietly becoming.
To move forward means we also have to let go. To gently clear the space inside us,
so something new can begin. Not because what was before wasn't meaningful, but because it has
already had its time. And nature does this every spring. It starts again, as if from nothing,
without hesitation and without resistance. And maybe we are meant to do the same.
To trust that letting go is not loss, but the quiet beginning of something new.
I've noticed that letting go, whether it's seasons, old routines or just old versions
of ourselves, isn't always simple. And I truly believe we're not meant to do it alone.
I've struggled with that feeling of carrying things quietly for too long,
thinking I just need to manage on my own. But over time,
I've realized how much it can help to actually talk to someone.
That's why I'm really glad to have a paid partnership with BetterHelp, a service that
I've actually used over the years myself. Even as someone whose first language isn't English,
I've found it surprisingly easy to use. And I've gotten so much help from it during different
seasons of my life. BetterHelp makes starting therapy feel easy and less overwhelming. You
can take a short quiz and get matched with a credentialed therapist in a way that feels
really simple and quick. And what I personally like is that you can choose how you communicate,
whether that's through phone, video or text. Whatever feels most comfortable for you.
And if the therapist doesn't feel like the right fit, you can switch anytime at no extra cost.
If you feel like you could use a little support right now or someone to talk to
about small or big things on your mind, I really encourage you to consider it.
You can click the link in the description or go to betterhelp.com
and get 10% off your first month of therapy.
We are not only moving into a new season in nature, but into a completely new phase of life.
We are becoming parents to our first child next month. Everyone keeps saying it's a huge change,
and I believe them. I can understand it in my mind, see it in all the preparations,
in the things we've learned, the small skills we've practiced,
the space we've slowly made for something new. But still, I don't fully feel it yet.
Maybe because there is so little that is concrete in it so far. Nothing I can truly hold in my hands
and say, this is it. So it remains, for now, a kind of quiet idea. Something close but not
fully here. And in that space I sometimes find myself questioning my own way of being in it,
wondering if I should already feel more, if there's a certain way I'm supposed to be
experiencing all of this. But maybe there isn't. Maybe it's also okay that understanding arrives
slowly, that meaning builds over time, that not everything has to be felt all at once in order
to be real. Like the seasons outside, some changes don't announce themselves loudly.
They simply arrive, step by step, until one day you realize you are already inside something
entirely new. On the other hand, I've come to appreciate this way of being.
If I'm about to go on a journey, I don't really want to study every detail beforehand.
I don't want to see every photo, every video, to mentally walk through a place before I've even
arrived. There's something in me that wants to meet things as they are, when they are real,
and when I'm actually there. To experience life in its presence, not in its anticipation.
In the same way I find myself trusting that what comes, comes. And when it does, I will meet it
then. Not too early, not in my imagination, not in worry. Just when it is here.
Maybe I don't even know how to fully live things in advance like others sometimes seem to do.
I don't easily travel ahead in my mind to rehearse what might happen.
And while that has its challenges, it also has a certain honesty to it.
Right now I am still in a threshold space. A place where the old winter is not fully gone
but already melting. The last parts of one life chapter softening into water,
making way for what is clearly becoming a new season. It feels like standing between winter
and spring, watching the snow give away, knowing that soon enough everything will
turn green again. A new summer waiting just beyond the thaw. I'm eagerly waiting for the
summer this year. The winter, it kind of cut short because we don't have much snow yet,
and it's just the middle of April. But I have a summer feeling already. I'm part of it because
we're having our baby girl next month. And that is something that I wanted to talk to you about
because I'm planning to take some time off from making these videos and being here on YouTube
because I want to fully concentrate on our huge life change and the fact that we are going to be
a family. I will try to post something, pictures and texts on our membership program here on
YouTube so you can anytime join us in our Nordic family. I will tell little greetings when our baby
girl comes and what we will do during summer but I will at least take the summer off from here.
Anyways, I just wanted to be clear with you and know that I don't want to disappear or anything
but I will now want to really concentrate on this life on this side of the camera and I hope that
you will stay there because I really love this. I really really love to do this and I couldn't do
this without you. So I hope to see you very soon and I hope all the best to all of you and a life
full of beautiful light and gentleness and warmth. Thank you for being here. See you. Bye bye.
This is so odd because I can literally say that nothing ever happens in our village but now
someone has a party in some of the cabins. There are a few cabins here and then travelers and
tourists sometimes rent them and someone is definitely having a party and they have some kind
of boom box or something and I can hear the bass in the background and at the same time I can hear
two swans by the lake. This is like a swan song with some bass drum. Very weird soundtrack here.
