Suspect shot by police after shooting woman in Chester: Sources

11 o'clock. Rick is off. I'm sorry, Williams. The big story on action news tonight is breaking news. A police officer fired their weapon, striking at least one person. Chopper six was over that scene in Delaware County, where all of this unfolded. The officer is with the Chester Police Department and was responding to a domestic violence call when the situation escalated. Let's go live now to action news reporter Brianna Smith, who's live at the scene involving this officer who shot a man. Bri, what else can you tell us? Well, sorry, we have very limited information at this time. But as you mentioned, it started with a domestic incident. Sources tell us two people were shot and taken to the hospital. One of them was shot by a police officer. Now, right now we are on Morton Avenue and Ninth Street. As you can see, it is very much an active scene. A block away is Walnut Street and next to the Walnut Street deli. There are items scattered on the ground as well as seven several evidence markers. We counted at least 24 of them, and there are even more when you go around the corner. Now, across the street, we also see a dark SUV with its doors open. Police have been inspecting that vehicle throughout the night. Now go ahead and take a look at video of the scene from earlier. Chester Police say officers responded to ninth and Walnut Streets for a domestic incident between a man and a woman. Just after 8 30 p.m. Sources tell us again that the man shot the woman, but we don't know her condition at this time. Now, when officers arrived on scene, police say at least one of them fired their weapon and shot the man. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say no officers were injured during this incident. Now we're working to learn what led up to this shooting.
