Liza Ferschtman joins the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège under the direction of Gergely Madaras for a compelling concert centered on the great Romantic violin repertoire. As soloist, Ferschtman brings both technical precision and expressive depth to Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77 — one of the most demanding and symphonically conceived works in the violin literature.
The program is complemented by Ernő Dohnányi’s Ruralia Hungarica, Op. 32, a richly colored and rhythmically vibrant work inspired by Hungarian folk traditions. Under Madaras’ clear and energetic leadership, the orchestra highlights both the structural grandeur of Brahms and the folkloric character and orchestral brilliance of Dohnányi, resulting in a program that combines intensity, elegance, and national color.
