Kaitlin Quevedo vs Venus Williams 2026 Madrid Round 1 WTA Match Highlights

She had to grind it out there. Quevedo to serve. Superb from Venus Williams. Perfectly placed there. And she does. In the Battle of the Wild Cards. It's the 20-year-old making her main draw debut in Madrid. And has taken the first set. That's magnificent from Venus Williams. Williams has upped the aggression. Quevedo to serve. She's made it. Lovely touch from Quevedo. Haven't seen her do that too often. Brilliant from Quevedo. Maybe her best moment of the match so far. A victory on her main draw debut in Madrid. For Caitlin Quevedo. Against one of the sport's true legends. Venus Williams making her first appearance here in five years. She certainly made it competitive, particularly in that second set. But Caitlin Quevedo getting the win. What a big moment for her. Made her first ever WTA Tour level main draw event here a year ago. And lost in qualifying. Now she gets a main draw win in straight sets ever Venus Williams.
