Blue Origin declared BE-3U engine Brutally Destroyed New Glenn Flight 3...Elon Musk Laughs!
The serious failure of New Glenn’s second stage has turned the entire NG-3 mission into a complete disaster. Blue Origin has taken a customer satellite worth $22 million and turned it into nothing but a pile of burning space junk. The situation is so serious that NASA may now seriously consider removing New Glenn from future Artemis missions if the next flight repeats the same failure. So what exactly went wrong with the rocket this time? And how did Elon Musk cleverly mock his rival? Let’s dive right in.
You know what? On the morning of April 19, 2026, the atmosphere at Launch Complex 36 in Cape Canaveral was tense from the very first moments.
Picture this. After months of delays, all eyes were locked on a 98-meter giant, New Glenn, standing tall on the pad. Even skeptics were watching, wondering if it could truly compete with Starship.
Well… not quite.

Because the morning didn’t go smoothly at all. The planned 6:45 a.m. launch was scrubbed with just 3 minutes and 57 seconds left on the clock. No details. Just a technical issue that forced a 40-minute scramble. Only at 7:25 AM. did they finally give the green light.
And then, ignition.
Seven BE-4 engines roared to life, pushing out 3.8 million pounds of thrust. The ground shook under the force of methalox combustion. But here’s the twist. This wasn’t a brand-new booster. The first stage, “Never Tell Me The Odds,” had already flown once on NG-2 back in November.
At liftoff, it climbed slowly, almost cautiously. Then it accelerated, tearing through the Florida sky. About 90 seconds in, it passed Max Q, the point of peak aerodynamic stress.
Up to this point, everything felt flawless.

At T+3 minutes 30 seconds, the first stage shut down and separated cleanly. The second stage ignited its twin BE-3U engines, continuing toward orbit, while the booster flipped and began its return to Earth.
And this was the moment that turned heads.
The massive first stage executed its reentry burns and landed precisely on the droneship Jacqueline in the Atlantic, about 375 miles offshore. Just 9 and a half minutes after liftoff, Blue Origin achieved its first successful reuse of a heavy-lift booster.
Even Elon Musk responded with a simple “Congrats.” Short. Polite. But a bit sharp.
Because hours later, he reposted Kiko Dontchev, highlighting a different number from his Falcon 9 rocket. 600 Falcon 9 landings. 496 at sea. 104 on land.
Suddenly, New Glenn’s two landings didn’t feel so significant. And the timing didn’t look accidental.
