Hello friends, welcome back. Today I'm going to be doing
a full face of essence makeup. Some of these products are new essence
things and some of them are just kind of like new to me essence things and I'm
going to be doing a eight hour wear test. I do have the
essence stick foundation. This is not my preferred foundation. It is
very lightweight. It doesn't last very long on
me with my skin being a little bit more on the oily side.
So I'm not going to use that today especially doing an eight hour wear
test like that just would not hold up. So I am going to be using the Maybelline
Superstay Lumi Matte Foundation. I'm just going to go
ahead and apply that real quick off camera and then we'll jump into
these essence products. The next product that I'm going to use is this new
Essence Silky Blur Hydrating Longwear Concealer
and I was so excited to get this. Essence actually reached out to me
and asked if I would like to get on their PR list and they sent me this
concealer. This concealer is $5.99 and it's sold at
Ulta and EssenceMakeup.com and TikTok Shop. It comes in 20
different shades and they sent me all 20 shades and it's a lot and they
have a really good range of shades. I thought it was also
super cool but with this they also included
to give back we have partnered once again with I Support the Girls
a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness.
Any of the shades that I don't use I can
that are unopened I can ship them to I Support the Girls and they also
included like a shipping label. So I thought that that was super cool.
I mean granted I'm not on a lot of PR list
but this is the first company that I've seen do something like this
and I think that that is really really nice and I hope that like more
companies start doing things like that. So I'm just going to stamp this on and I
did like I opened several to try to like
figure out like in what I thought was going to be like
my shade range for this concealer. So I will put some swatches up on the
screen of some of the different shades so you guys can see
the differences in those. I didn't want to open up every single shade just
because I wanted to be able to give back on some of those ones that I knew would
not work for me. But the shade that seems to be like the
best match for me is this one in 150. It's just a good
neutral shade. It's not too light or too dark.
It's really it's a really nice shade and I find that this concealer has a good
medium to full coverage which is what I prefer in a concealer.
I don't really care for those really light coverage concealers.
I just don't like a lot of really light coverage products but I have
used this concealer a few different times
and I've really enjoyed it. So we will see how it wears throughout the
day. Like I haven't had issues with this
settling into fine lines or clinging to any like dry areas on my
under eyes. So another product that I picked up and
this isn't necessarily super new. This is more of a new to me
product but this is the Essence Flawless Skin Trio Loose Setting
Powder. And this is one of those ones that's
like a colored powder. It's got like several different shades.
So yeah some of these products today are going to be like first impressions
like this powder. I have not used this actually most of these things I have not
used. The only thing that I actually have used
from these products is the concealer. Which I'm like do I mix all of them?
Let's just do that. I kind of want to see what it would be like if I mix all these
powders together. But it has this thing where you can
like move it around if you just want specific shades
of powder. I'm gonna dab off some of the excess here
and then I'm gonna use this to set the under eyes. Okay yeah like that pink
powder is pretty pink. I feel like it's really
showing up. It looks like it's set things well.
I mean just from looking at this I don't like this
better than my L'Oreal Infallible Blurfection.
And maybe it's just because this has more of a tint to it. I'm actually going
to go in with a little bit of the L'Oreal.
I don't know I feel like I need to lighten this a little bit. Like it was
just a little too colored. Like see I don't know if you
can see the difference. So I'm not really for sure if that
powder is going to be the powder for me. So I'm just going to be using this
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This was also another product that
whenever I was looking on Ulta I didn't really feel like
Essence had a lot of options for setting powders.
So I just didn't order anything. Like the only thing that
seemed somewhat appealing to me was that the Flawless Skin Trio.
I'm going to go in with this BK Beauty 109.
I just want to see how this works with this product.
And I'm using the Soft Touch Butter Bronzer.
The shade that I picked up in this is in the shade Golden
Buttercream. And I think this was like a step up from
the lightest if I remember right. Or this may have been the lightest.
Which I just realized I haven't done my brows yet. And I always feel like it's
weird if I do other face steps before doing
my eyebrows. So probably after I apply this bronzer I'm gonna
fill in my brows real quick. But yeah this looks to be like a really warm
toned bronzer. Like it looks more warm on my skin than it does
in the pan. It's got some good color to it.
And this seems like it's blending out really well. I might go in with like a
more fluffy type of brush to kind of like blend
out some of that because it seems a little concentrated there
on my hairline using this brush. It's just that like most of my bronzer
brushes need to be cleaned. Okay so I'm going in with this Sassy
and Chic brush from the Dollar Tree. Okay yeah this is a very like warm toned
bronzer. It definitely has good pigmentation.
I feel like maybe I could have used the lightest one in this line.
But it blended out well. It looks nice on the skin.
So that's really pretty and I really like that. I might have to pick up the
lighter shade. Okay for brows I don't think I really saw
like a brow pencil or anything from Essence.
So I'm just going to use this NYX Blade and Shade
to fill in my eyebrows. And this product that I got from Essence
is new and this is their Brow Lift and Freeze
Glue Ultimate Hode. And this is in transparent.
I mean like honestly on this wand it kind of looks like glue.
I don't know if you can really see on camera like it kind of has like a little
bit of a yellowish tint on the wand.
It doesn't feel super like thick or like goopy going on the brow so that's
good. I can do a second pass and it doesn't
seem like it's affecting it. So we'll see how that
hodes throughout the day. I mean it feels like it's drying. It
feels like it's holding. Like it kind of feels a little bit like hairspray
as it's drying. Definitely gives your brows like that
laminated brow look. Okay so with the blushes I did pick up
the Soft Touch Bouncy Blush and I got the shade Roses and Berry.
And then I also picked up their Soft Baked Blush
in the shade Cocoa Glaze. So they're kind of
along the lines of the same sort of colors. This one's just a little deeper.
And I don't really know but I'm thinking that
Essence is not making these baked blushes anymore.
Like I didn't see these on Essence's website and I didn't see them on Ulta
anymore. So I don't know I guess they're
replacing them with these which they look so much smaller than the other ones.
I mean like granted these big ones I don't know that I'd
ever get through one of those. So not really like a huge deal breaker
for me but I could see like where some people would be
upset with the smaller size. I think I'm going to go in with this brush that I
got from Amazon and I'm going to go in with the Soft
Touch Bouncy Blush in Roses and Berry. So I'm going to
make sure and tap this off really well so I don't apply
this too heavily. Okay yeah that transferred really easy.
Definitely seems pretty pigmented so tapping
some of the excess off on the back of my hand was definitely a good idea.
So that looks really pretty but yeah like also too I know when these blushes
first came out people were curious like are these like the Maybelline like
bouncy blushes and they don't really feel like those.
They do feel like a cream in the pan and then when you blend it out on the
skin it has more of like a powder feel like it's like the cream to powder.
But it looks really beautiful on the skin like it does kind of create more of
like a soft matte or like semi-matte like look.
Like it's not completely matte like it does have a
little bit of like a satin kind of glow to it but I wouldn't say
that it has like shimmers in it or anything like I don't really
notice any. Like now the baked blush does look like it's got some really fine like
shimmers in it. Not like glitters but it just looks
like shimmer like a shimmery eye shadow or something like that
or like a satin eye shadow I should say. And then I'm just gonna apply a little
bit of this to the cheeks. I'll have to use this soft baked blush
again on its own but we're gonna look super blushy today.
Okay that blended really nicely over top of
the soft touch blush. I'm just gonna go back with my makeup sponge to kind of
blend around the edge. I mean always with those um tinted
like setting powders they look so much better once you get your blush on.
I felt like before I had my blush on at least to me looking in the mirror it
just kind of gave me an effect where I felt like I looked
tired like I don't know. I think that's why I'm just
not super into those tinted like super tinted um under eye like powder
correctors. So I'm gonna use the soft touch bouncy
glow highlights. I'm debating on like what brush I
should use with this. Like I'm like do I use just like a regular brush or should
I use like one of those kind of brushes like this you know to
apply it. But I'm just gonna use my setting brush
from Real Techniques. See how that looks first. Okay yeah that
creates like a really soft glow. You can see that on the skin. Let's use
this other brush and just kind of tap it on.
Do you really like that highlight? It's almost
I feel like when I'm looking at it in the mirror like I feel like it's almost
giving my skin like that wet look. I don't know if that's really
translating on camera the same but it's actually really pretty. I picked
up this new jelly grip eyeshadow primer and this
just looked really really interesting to me. Like I
haven't seen anything like this for an eyeshadow primer.
So it's like you know we've got like these type of primers
for the face but this is the first time I've seen it
for the eyeshadow. So I'm really curious to see how well this is gonna work.
For the eyeshadow I picked up one of these
new cream eyeshadows and I've got the shade
in rose which is a really pretty like rose gold color.
Like I feel like it kind of shifted in the packaging
on its way to my house because I ordered this off of
Ulta. So I'm just going to get some of that shade
on this brush and I'm going to first stamp it.
Maybe see I'm trying to figure out like what brush would be best to use with
this. I'm going to actually use this Sigma
whoa that was too much. I'm just going to use this Sigma E25
blending. Yeah this cream shadow is actually
pretty creamy. I thought it was going to be kind of
more of like a drier formula but it's actually really creamy.
Like as you can see like my brush going in there
and I don't feel like I was pressing too hard.
So I'm curious to see how that jelly grip primer if it will help this cream
shadow to last on the eyelids without creasing.
Like usually any type of cream shadow or like creamy like shadow
stick has a tendency to crease on me except for things like the Maybelline
color tattoos. Do you guys remember those? Does Maybelline still make those? That's
kind of what this product is reminding me of but hopefully this lasts
really well because the color on this is really pretty. I could see this just
being a really pretty everyday like one and done. Okay so that
was super easy. I might take a little bit more of this
on just like my Sigma pencil E30 brush and just kind of smudge some of that
here on the lower lash line. So that's what the eyeshadows look or
that's what the cream shadow looks like all blended on the lid there
and up in the crease. Like I think that creates such a pretty like one and done
everyday shade. Okay and I picked up two of their
satin blend gel eyeliners and I got the shades
in deep olive and bronzed shimmer. So I want to use like this
deep olive on my lower lash line. Also the garbage truck is right outside my
window if you can hear anything. And then I'm going to take this little
and just kind of smudge this out. Okay yeah I would say that this shade is
more of like a forest kind of green shade
than olive but it's blending out super easy. And I'll put some of this in my
waterline just so we can see how it holds up like if it transfers
into the inner corner or anything like that. The shade I think it's really
pretty like even though this isn't really like an
olive green and more of a forest green I definitely wear this green quite a bit.
I mean I feel like that blends out really well.
So I'm curious to see how that's going to last. Let's use the
bronzed shimmer here on the upper lash line.
And this bronze shimmer has like it's more of like a
shimmery liner like it's not completely like matte looking
which I think is really pretty. That blended super easy. It's like if one
thing is for certain I feel like this is the year for like pencil liner
and like lip liner for me. I just really feel like I've been into
those two products a lot this year. Okay that looks really pretty. I feel
like the green with my red today I'm looking like Christmas.
I didn't really think that through. I might have to change my shirt to a green
shirt today. And speaking of lip liners I did
purchase one of their 8 hour matte comfort lip
liners and I picked up the shade in silky hazelnuts which I'm not for sure
if these are new. I don't think they are but maybe they
just like updated the packaging. But yeah that lip liner glided on really
easily and it's a good warm nude shade. I've
been really into like frosty lips lately and
I purchased some of these L'Oreal curl shimmer lipsticks and this one in
golden splendor is so so pretty. So I'm gonna pair that
with this lip liner today. Like the pearl finish lipsticks like it
kind of gives me vibes of using a gloss but in a type of product that's
going to last on the lips a little bit better
and not be like so oily and make your lip liner like
go everywhere. So that's why I really like these frosty lipsticks.
And I feel like the shade in golden splendor
from L'Oreal it's one of those colors that
just kind of takes on whatever lip liner you use and just kind of lightens it a
little bit. Gives it a bit of a golden shimmer. It's
just such a pretty color. I'm gonna go ahead and mist my face real
quick. And I debated on getting an essence
setting spray. I have used their I think it's fix and
last. Um I do really like that setting spray
but it's also one of those things where I'm like
I don't know if it's like the most cost effective to some of my other setting
sprays that I have in my collection. So I really need to sit down and
figure that out but I'm just going to use the hard candy
look on lock. So for mascara let me go ahead and curl up my lashes real quick.
Okay and I picked up two essence mascaras. I know a while back I was
telling you guys that I wasn't I haven't found like my
essence mascara like from this lash princess line.
Which I don't really think this one is necessarily from the lash princess line.
Um this is the call me queen dramatic false lash effect.
And then from lash princess I got the curl and volume. So I think what I'm
going to do is use one on one eye one on the other just so I can see how
they work. Um the curl and volume the mascara one
looks like the Too Faced better than sex or like
L'Oreal lash paradise. So I really like
the L'Oreal lash paradise with this brush. So I was hoping to have good luck
with this brush with this mascara. Okay so here's the first coat with that.
I mean overall it looks pretty natural. Um I'm gonna go in with the call me
queen on this side just one coat just so I
can see if one looks a little bit more
volumized on the first coat than the other.
Here's the first coat with the call me queen.
I do think that that one is slightly a little bit more volumizing on the first
coat. Okay so let's go in with a second coat
of the lash princess curl and volume mascara.
I do think the formula on the lash princess one
is a bit it's not quite as wet feeling. Okay going in with like second coat it's
definitely building a bit more volume. Okay so that's what it looks like with
the second coat. I do really like it on the second coat.
So if this mascara doesn't um transfer or flake
this might be my favorite essence lash princess mascara.
So I'm going to go ahead and put some of this here on the lower lash line.
It's really going to help me know if this is going to transfer or not.
But yeah that definitely built up really good.
Okay so I'm going in with the call me queen.
I do feel like this call me queen is a bit more of a wet formula.
So I feel like I'm having issues with it
with it transferring up here while I'm applying it. So I'm not
a fan of that. I do think maybe this call me queen
is a little bit more separating. Okay so there's two coats
of call me queen. I'm trying to decide like which one I like better.
I mean they don't look incredibly different but I do think I prefer the
lash princess one just because it doesn't feel as wet.
And it's like somehow I feel like it was easier to
build. Okay so I mean first initial thoughts on these
I do really like them. This one's a bit more of a wet mascara than this one.
We will see how those hold up throughout the day and if they flake or smudge.
So I think that was it for all the essence products that I bought.
So let me do a quick little spin so we can see what everything is
looking like. The true test is to see how everything holds up.
So let me get my phone here so I can show you guys the time. It is
So I will be back here in four hours which should be around 3 30 I believe.
Yeah so at 3 30 or around 3 30 I'll be back with a four hour check-in
and around 7 30 I'll be back with my final check-in.
But anyway I will see you guys here in a little bit
with the update. I am back and it is 4 41 pm.
Earlier I was saying that it was 11 30 pm but I meant to say 11 30 am.
I cannot imagine doing a whole like makeup look and wear test
overnight like that would not work for me.
But anyway it's been slightly over four hours since I last saw you guys
and this sorry my chair is all squeaky. Let me do like a quick little turn so
you can see how the makeup is holding up. I did end up touching up the lips
once like reapplying the lip liner and then I switched the shade of
lipstick I was wearing to um I think it's bronzed coin
is the shade name from L'Oreal. It's in my purse so
which is in the other room so I'm not gonna go get that. But
this lip liner it did basically wear off after I had lunch
and I just had avocado toast. So it's not like I had anything like super
greasy. I mean I know like avocado is more of a
oil like fat based fruit or vegetable whatever.
So that might have kind of broke down the lip liner a little bit more but
this lip liner definitely isn't as long wearing as some of my others like my
Revlon Colorstay or really any of my other
lip liners wear better than this. I can already tell that this isn't super long
wearing. So I wouldn't say that this is like an
eight hour wear lip liner but it is one of those lip liners that's easy to like
reapply like it glides on super easy. I do really like the shade of this. I
think it's really pretty. It pairs really nicely with like
that cream eyeshadow and I feel like the cream eyeshadow is holding up so
well. I don't know if it just holds up well
regardless if I hadn't said it with this primer.
I should have done one eye with the primer one eye without.
That would have been like more smart but I was just so excited to use this.
But either way like it's holding up well so I'll definitely
use this eyeshadow primer in future videos.
With the liner like it is kind of fading in the waterline but it's still kind of
there. It's migrated maybe slightly to the
inner corner but it doesn't look bad. The brown liner is holding up well and
I mean overall like that green is holding up well on the lower lash line.
I feel like the blush and the bronzer and highlight is holding up good.
There is like a little mascara flake from
this mascara on this side and this one in looking at the footage from
earlier like this really did get up on my
upper lid really bad so I tried to like fix that
off camera like right after I got done filming. I will see you guys
in another four hours with my final check-in.
I am back and it is 7 30 p.m so it's been a total of eight hours since I
applied everything and I was checking everything up close
before I started to record this and I'm honestly
shocked at how well this cream shadow has held up on my eyes all day
and like I said I'll have to use this again
without this jelly grip primer to see if that was making a difference with this
but I mean it has held up so well no creasing. I think that this is such
a gorgeous just one and done shade. I really really like this. I can't
wait to use the jelly grip eyeshadow primer again with
just some regular eyeshadows like just regular powder
eyeshadows to see how it performs with that.
I just think this is a really cool concept and I don't know maybe like milk
makeup has an eyeshadow primer like this like I don't
I don't know like I don't always stay up on all the high-end makeup
but I think this is super cool so I really like this like as you can see
with the concealer like it's held up all day.
I do kind of feel like that powder ended up looking maybe slightly a little
heavy on my under eyes so maybe like I applied
maybe a little too much of it or maybe just like that colored
powder isn't the best suited for me. I do feel like on camera
it doesn't look as bad as in real life. I don't think it's as good as like the
L'Oreal infallible blurfection like that
powder is so so fun. I just really like that.
I'm honestly impressed by the eyeliners. I really like those and the green held
up really well. I really like the blush and the bronzer
and the highlight like I feel like they've held up well throughout the day.
Totally forgot to do like my turn. Yeah I'm
really impressed. I would say like the only thing
in this group of products that I tried from essence that I'm not
super crazy about is the call me queen mascara.
I'll have to use this a little bit more like maybe once it dries out some I will
like it a little bit better. I just feel like the formula is just a
little too wet for my liking so I think I really prefer this curl and
volume mascara better from the lash princess and then
like the lip liner it's not terrible but it's not super long
wearing so if you're looking for a really long wearing lip liner I highly
recommend Revlon Colorstay. That lip liner wears so well or even
some of my Dollar Tree like the the Ioni
lip liners they last better so like especially the one in warm nude would be
really comparable to this shade. It's like a little darker
and a little bit more pink than this but yeah I would recommend those
over that. So overall I think that all of these products are I would give
them five stars just those two I'm not super
crazy about. Have you tried any of these essence
products? Do you feel the same way that I do about them? Are you excited to maybe
try some of these things? Are there some other essence products
that I should pick up and try out? Let me know. I love essence as a brand
and I just love that they have a lot of awesome
affordable products. I told you guys in my March beauty favorites that at the
end of my videos I was going to start reading out of my little devotional book
and it's like when I do these wear tests it's like a
full day of like filming and all of that that when I get to the end
sometimes I just completely forget to do this because
it's like in the morning when I read my devotionals and then it's like by the
end I'm just like not thinking about it
but I'm gonna read from it today but if
you've never seen me read from this before
this is just the blessings for morning and evening
life-giving words of encouragement to begin an injured day
by Susie Larson. So this is just like my little devotional book that I read
um and so I've just decided at the end of my videos I'm gonna include this
little devotional at least whenever I can remember to do so.
Today's devotion is wisdom to guard and guide. May God be
exalted in your life today. May he surround you
with fresh mercies and fiery faith and may his divine
wisdom guard and guide you. May you refuse to
dabble in things that make you vulnerable to the enemy
schemes. May you instead shore up your life, guard
your heart, and walk in faith. You have a great call on your life and
the Lord is mighty in you and through you. And the scripture verse
is Psalms 86 verse 2. Guard my life for I am faithful to you.
Save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God.
But I think this is such a great reminder that if you put your faith and
trust in God, he is gonna guard over your life. I hope
that you guys have a great day and I will see you all in the next one.
Bye-bye.
