The Story of "I CARE"

Nita and TJ, a deaf couple from Roanoke, Virginia, spent Saturdays standing outside a grocery store with a simple sign:
“Please sign the petition to save lives.”
They were asking their Congressman to help stop forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience in China, including large number of Falun Gong practitioners.
Since 1999, these meditation practitioners have faced brutal persecution.
A man signed their petition, and came back to gave Nita a new pen and finger spelled:
“I CARE.”
In today’s busy world, these two words still matter.
Their story reached their Congressman—and he co-sponsored the resolution in 2015!
Later, an independent tribunal confirmed these atrocities. Today, new legislation is moving forward.
Nita passed away last year. But her message lives on.
On April 23, a movie screening and panel will be held at the Lyric Theater in Blacksburg.
Free admission. RSVP now. (StateOrgans-Lyric.eventbrite.com)
