“HOME” explores belonging as both a place and a journey. The evening’s work expands to reflect Earth’s origins and the circle of life, while addressing current issues such as immigration, global warming, and the search for identity across unfamiliar spaces. Shaped by student-led discussions and culturally relevant research, the show ultimately asks:

The Plessy Treme Dance Department offers a culturally responsive training experience. Students engage in projects connecting movement to history, identity, and community. Through styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, and hip hop, dancers explore cultural traditions, social issues, and personal storytelling. The program emphasizes both technical growth and creative inquiry, encouraging students to collaborate, research, and perform works that reflect their voices, with an emphasis on deepening their understanding of dance as an art form.
