Is Food Near HKU Actually Good? 🇭🇰

It's so good. Hi everyone, I'm Sophia and I'm a first year student at the University of Hong Kong. I am half Chinese, half Russian, and I just graduated last year from an international school in Beijing. Sophia Papoulou, from the University of Hong Kong, majoring in Global and Creative Industries. Ever since I moved to Hong Kong, food has been the main challenge. Let me explain. Choosing what to eat, having so many restaurants around everywhere, all the HKU canteens, plus you can even cook for yourself at the dorm. I guess HKU canteens are alright, but to eat them every day can be kind of boring. And let me get this straight, I am no chef. So the question would be, out of so many restaurants, which would be the ones worth going to? So in this video, I'll be trying different restaurants around HKU and rating them. The locations of the restaurants will be mentioned in the description. So let's get into it. Hi everyone, today is Wednesday, March 4th. And I'm here with Hermione. Hello. And Ceci. Hello. We're at a restaurant called Dare. How dare you. And we've ordered three sets, and they gave us free drinks. So we have a burger, some, what is this, fish? This is the chicken. Fried chicken. And then you have ramen. Yes. Rice. It tastes better than it was. Okay, let's try. 7 out of 10. Mine is like 7.5 out of 10. Okay, this one will be 頂級. Okay, overall tasting, 7. 6. 6.7? The portions are pretty big, so I would say it's 性價比挺高的. See you at the next restaurant. Totally. Hi, today is Thursday, March 5th. I am with Lorraine. Hi guys. We are at a restaurant called 周記. It is mostly dim sum and traditional Hong Kong food. So we'll see what it tastes like. Here is our food. We ordered 炒腸粉. 叉燒包. 蝦餃. 排骨. And a 西多士. 來吧,開吃。 This 叉燒包. So we ordered 叉燒包. I think it's a 6 out of 10. Because they are their favorite. Pricing wise, not too bad. We ordered 五個菜,不到200. I think it's a pretty reasonable price. It is worth it. Today is Thursday, March 19th. I am here at 一千米. 一千米. Gonna insert the name here. I'm here with Ann, Brandon, and me. So this is like chicken miso soup. And the noodle is made of yuzu. It's milk chicken. And she got the same. Alright, we have finished the ramen. Now we're gonna rate it. I'm rating the taste a 7 out of 10. The soup is really good. Pricing is okay. Slightly more expensive than our school canteen. But like, you know, normal. If you want to eat somewhere in Hong Kong. There's also like two more ramen shops near this shop. So you can also try that out. But overall, I think it's a 7.5. 燒餅。 Alright, so we just finished lunch. Now we're at a yogurt ice cream shop. Because she wants yogurt. Because it's hot. Taste test. 8.5 out of 10. The shop is at 賽雲鵬. You have to walk for like a longer duration. Yeah. Honeycomb is too sweet. Today is March 24th. It is lunchtime. And I'm here at this restaurant called 太雜貨。 中文名字是太誇張。 太誇張。 Okay. And I'm here with Ann and Brandon. Hi. Hello. Okay. I ordered some sort of curry. A soup. And they also have like free drinks. I got lemon tea. What'd you get? It's like a boat noodle. It's like really savory. So it's got pork and pork balls. And so you have to add your spicy seasoning in it. So I ordered like a pork neck rice. It's really nice. Like really traditional Thai cuisine. And I ordered like a lemongrass tea. No sugar. I give it like a 9 out of 10. It's really good. Like the price is also like really reasonable. Yeah. So. What would you rate your food? 8. 8 out of 10. I would give this a 8 out of 10 as well. Maybe even 8.5. Maybe because I'm really hungry. But this is like really good. The decorations are Thai themed. A lot of Thai cultures. It's definitely like vintage Thai. Vintage Thai. The restaurant is also near the B1, B2 station. Who is this? Hi. The scenery. This place looks kind of fancy. But this restaurant is called E for Egg Cafe. It's a brunch restaurant at Sai Hong. Today is April 1st. And I'm here with Hermione. I ordered a teriyaki. Waiting time. Food is 9 out of 10.
