Lukas is lovely horse that resides in China Hills, LA. He is loved by his owners and enjoys his days lounging in the Californian sun and eating carrots...and he is the smartest horse in the World. Lukas performs stunts with his owner Karen. They also demo his record, which is identifying the highest amount of numbers in a minute. How can Oli compete with that?
Good. Good boy.
Welcome to On The Road, the show where I meet some of the most talented people all over the world
that are certified by Guinness World Records.
I'm here today in Chino Hills, California and I'm about to meet a horse.
Not just any horse, the world's smartest horse.
Hello Karen, how are you doing?
Hi Ollie, great. How are you? Thanks for coming.
I'm doing great. It is so lovely today.
So Lucas, your horse, is certified by Guinness World Records for the most numbers correctly identified in one minute,
which is 19.
When did you realize that he was a very smart horse?
Well, it came about over time. It was a gradual realization and unfolding.
And we just kept having fun and it snowballed.
Before I knew it, he was on the cover of magazines and on television and on radio.
Do you think that there could be any other horse that could beat Lucas and be smarter?
That's a great question Ollie.
You know, I hope so. I hope that Lucas is not special,
because that would mean that other horses don't have that capacity or ability.
So I'm hoping that the record is broken, but we do enjoy having the Guinness World Record.
You would like someone else to break it?
Because Ollie, that means that it's becoming accepted that animals are intelligent and understand.
Animals understand a whole lot more than we give them credit for.
And if Lucas understands that a shape is missing, just a little shape on his desk,
I think they also understand when care and comfort and food and other things also aren't there.
Oh, that is wicked. That is so cool.
Well, I'm so, so glad that Lucas is certified by Guinness World Records,
because it does sound that you deserve it and you have done it for a great reason.
But I think it's now time that I meet Lucas.
Alright, very good.
Do you want to lead the way?
Yes.
Okay.
I'll look after you.
You better.
A little closer.
You did it. Yay.
It feels like he's going to bite my hand off though.
He won't.
No?
He won't.
He's got massive teeth.
He does, Ollie.
You're actually cueing him to do that.
Really?
Did you know that? Yes.
How?
So you're making him do that?
How are you making him do that?
Well, that was his greeting to you.
Very nice to meet you as well.
That's not so bad, is it, Ollie?
He's really nice.
Thank you.
He's really, really nice.
You want to go show Ollie your tricks?
Yeah.
Alright.
Alright, let's go.
Let's see some tricks.
What is he doing?
This is unusual for horses to do at Liberty.
He's going around Karen.
He's going around in circles around Karen.
Oh, good boy.
He's kicking his legs.
So is that him happy then?
Yes.
Very happy.
That's how you can tell.
You silly.
Oh, good boy.
Oh, very good.
Oh, good boy.
That was absolutely incredible.
I've seen a dog do some of those tricks, but a horse?
And the funny thing is he does it so happily and so eagerly.
I think it's time we see Lucas identify some numbers.
You bet, Ollie. Are you ready, big boy?
Okay, you see where everything is?
Where's your five go?
Alright, good.
Do your four.
Good.
Now your one.
Good.
That's it.
Touch it in the middle.
Now your two.
Good.
Now your three.
Good.
This just isn't possible.
There's no explanation of how...
Good.
Now your four.
Good.
Do you do it in any order?
Yeah, give me a number, Ollie.
Two.
Five.
Okay.
Five.
Three.
Four.
Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
It's okay.
Go.
Five.
Good.
I seriously can't believe this.
I thought you were doing it in some kind of order.
Yes.
No.
Three.
I couldn't remember the long patterns anyway.
Four.
That is seriously...
Good job.
Wow.
Good job.
That is amazing.
Good boy.
Well done.
Did you want to see his shapes?
Heart.
Good boy.
That's right.
Now the star.
Good.
Now the horse.
Good.
Butterfly.
How is he doing this?
Now the star.
Is that too close?
Or is it hard for you to see in the shade?
Okay, that's better.
Now the horse.
That is seriously incredible.
Good boy.
Yes, you are a good boy.
Well done.
Today I've been on the road and met Karen and the world's smartest horse.
I think this horse is smarter than me.
Well, pretty much anyone is smarter than me.
I should really go back to school.
But if you've liked what you've seen today, then give the video a thumbs up.
Comment below.
But I'll see you guys next time on the road.
Say goodbye to Ollie.
Oh.
Whoa.
Good boy.
Goodbye.
Bye.
Bye, Karen.
Thank you for coming.
Thank you.
That was incredible.
How can a horse...
