In The Loop 4/16/26
Hello everyone, welcome back to In The Loop this week. I'm Lindsay.
My name is Emma and today we have a special treat for you guys, I would say. One of our reporters,
Dick Antonakis, went to the unveiling of the new Quantum Accelerator coaster at Six Flags New
England and he rode it live on television. Yes, live on television, which we have both
never experienced this before being here at 22 News. I never thought this was like a possible
thing. So we're going to now, if you missed it this morning, we're going to take a look
and see how it all went. All right, we're going to play the video. Hopefully you can hear it
and take a look. And have our reactions at the end. Yes. Oh my god. What? Only 45?
I feel like that could be fast. It starts off 30 and it goes to 45. Hopefully you can hear this
video. We have a photographer, Juan, in the background. Just enjoying his life. He's also
riding the ride. All right. Absolutely. Kudos to Nick and the woman on the ride.
She obviously works at Six Flags. Yes. I don't know how they kept it together.
And mind you, this was at 6.17am that this happened. They were riding a roller coaster at
6am, literally. That thrill definitely kept him awake for the day. Yes. Because that would
certainly keep me awake at six in the morning. I know. I just I hope I get to go. It seems so
much fun. So I'm just nervous. Like, I don't know. I'm still baffled, honestly. Are you a roller
coaster person? Yes and no, depending on the day, honestly. Like at Disney, I didn't really.
I kind of did ride them a lot. And I think it's just depending on time and my anxiety. Yeah,
I I really want to ride this ride. I do love Six Flags rides. I, you know, kind of ventured
recently into doing upside down rides and those kind of things. And this is not one of those.
I decided the line for a long time will probably be long. Oh, 100 percent. So I'll give it a little
bit and go this summer and ride it then. But, you know, I think it's where Goliath used to be.
OK, that makes sense, because I remember in like eighth grade going on like Bizarro.
Is that what it was or like Superman? Yeah, that's it. Like changed a lot. Yeah. And I
went on in eighth grade with my science teacher and we I was scared. I was scared and I was
behaving my best because I was sitting next to my teacher. I'm proud of you. So that's
a that's always just imprinted in my memory forever. Yeah. So the roller coaster opens
tomorrow. Well, opens on Friday. Yes. What's the date? April. April 17th. April 17th. I don't
know what today's date is. So it opens April 17th. So if you want to go ride the quantum accelerator
like Nick, then, you know, go for it. Yeah, definitely get there earlier, the better,
because I'm I'm betting money now that these lines are going to be like two hours. Oh, yeah.
For 40 seconds of the roller coaster. But speaking of roller coasters, there has been a latest
development in the previous rocket roller coaster Aerosmith ride at Disney. We talked about it
before how the Muppets are taking over like the theme of the ride. Yes. And they released a song
that they're going to be covering. Yes. So the song is Song 2 by Blur. And Emma and I were just
taking a listen to it. And like, I'm happy it's like a faster pace, like more high energy. Like
I was it's still like kid friendly, too. So, right. Again, I feel like the same thing with
the quantum accelerator. They're trying to expand of like intensity of rides, but also like
family friendly. Right. Because, you know, Aerosmith was, you know, as you know, it's rock
and roll. Yeah, rock and roll. It's different. Wasn't the ride known for being like 90 miles
per hour? Well, it goes to zero to 60 and point something. Yeah. So the quantum accelerator goes
like zero to 30. This ride was zero to 60. And it takes you back. Like you have to go like this.
They give you a warning to keep your head back. And it just just goes. So I've only been on it
once. I was too chicken. And I was I'm going to go on it. But the last trip I went to Disney,
like five years ago, I went on it and it took my breath away. But like my thing is, though,
I get scared of Bizarro at Disney, but I want on rock and roll roller coaster multiple times as a
child and in like my teens and my early adult years with the dance team from Westfield. And
like we loved it. I was like, I so I don't know, it depends. Maybe heights my thing where it's
like you're on rock and roll roller coaster. You're just like in the dark, seeing lights.
But also to now with the Muppets, are they going to keep it zero to 60?
I don't I don't know. I haven't heard that they were like changing the ride. I just said they
were changing the theme of it. Yeah. I'm so curious what they're going to put out front
because, you know, out front had the giant Fender guitar. So I'm like, what are you going to make
it seem like? What's like the Kermit and Miss Peggy? Yeah. Like are they late? Like what's
the plot? Like why? Because, yeah, the plot for the other ride was you were late to their
concert. Like you were going. Oh, yes. So I'm just curious what if it does remain zero to 60,
what's like the reasoning or like what's like the story? Like what's the storyline? No, I honestly,
I didn't even like think about it like that when we just listened to the song earlier. So just in
case if anyone missed it, it's song two by Blur. Yeah. We were just listening to it. I was like,
why is this song like really familiar to me? Like I've heard it a million times.
It's the Westfield State girls lacrosse team's like goal song. So it's like when they scored a
goal, like that's the song that would play. So fun. And I was just like, I hear this song in
my dreams already. And now it's about to be on a roller coaster. Like this song follows me
everywhere. It literally follows me everywhere. I think you have to write it. I have to like I
have to. We do it in the loop trip to Disney flags and Disney. Hey, I'm down. I'm absolutely
down. I'm down. Especially for six flags. I don't know how realistic I've been trying to go for
years. But, you know, money says flags. We'll save up. We'll save up. We'll have in the fun
for Disney. But yeah, that's the latest that we've heard about the Muppets, about the Muppets
and the rock and roll roller coaster. Yeah. We take a break now and then go into all of our
we have a lot. We have a lot today. So the structure we're trying to figure out because
we had to pick and choose what we're going to talk about today. Usually it's like we find
things we talk about every single one. A hundred percent. We had to go and specifically pick out
things because there was so much to talk about today. A lot of music and a lot of a lot of TV
shows, a lot of TV shows and movies. So and so now coming up after this, we're going to talk about
a couple of movies and how historic movies are kind of yeah. Come back. I would definitely say
I would say historic. So we'll take a break and we'll be right back. Hello. Welcome back,
everyone. And so now we're going to have the movie showdown and the movie saga.
Yes, probably our biggest movie segment we've had on us. Well, in terms of what we
had and what we chose to talk about. Yeah, no, exactly. And also keep that in mind. Movies,
surprises are on the way. Yes. Do you want to start? So I feel like you know more about this
than me. So the new Little House on the Prairie is coming out on Netflix in July. Is it going to be a
movie or a TV series? That's the part that I misunderstood with the commercial. Let me let
me fact check. But yeah, it comes out July 9th. It's, you know, not the same cast because it's
all re-invented. It's a series. Oh, it's a series. OK. Yes. And I do know my Little House on the
Prairie. I was telling Lindsay during the break my family watches it from now and then. So I am
familiar with the show and I am just so curious about how they're going to. Is it going to be the
same lot? Like, obviously, it's different cast because it was the Little House on the original
was old. Yeah, because the original came out, I think, in 1996. Right. Or earlier. I'm not sure
off the top of my head, but it's about the time period of being out wet like. Yeah, it's it's
yeah, I would say. Let me try to get like a. Yeah. Oh, I was so wrong. 1974. I don't know why I
thought. Yeah. The 19th century American West. Yes. OK. Yeah. So it looks like from the commercial
that it kind of takes place in the same time. It, you know, kind of takes you to the where they go
to. What's it called? Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Yes. Minnesota. They move there and, you know,
how they build their own house and things like that. I am curious, though, because in the
original series, they had three kids, but in the commercial, I thought, too. Oh, OK. There's Mary,
Laura and Carrie. I only saw Mary and Laura. Oh, I don't. OK. I could be wrong. So that's
a mystery right there. I could be wrong. Oh, I think I don't know. I could be wrong,
but I am very curious to see what they're going to do with this. Yeah, I don't know
what the plot could be. I have no idea because it's going to guess. Yeah, because is this is
a storyline that this going to mold with the new generation, like the new, like Gen Z, Gen Alpha
and stuff like that? Or is this supposed to be like a nostalgia alert like we've talked about
with older adults? I hope it's not like our generation. I hope it's based on. Yeah. Like,
you know, the 1930s. Well, like it's going to appeal. Oh, that's probably like a better term
to say. I don't know. I don't we don't know. So I'll be watching it for sure. A hundred percent
because like I love dipping into like historic, like accurate like shows. So which obviously I
know Bridgerton isn't like but like period pieces, that's probably a better term. So it's like now
is this going to be historically accurate? True. I don't know. That's one of the new series that's
coming out. Yes. There's another one that I think it already one episode already aired.
Welcome in the Middle. Yes. OK. I was shocked about this because the last time I watched it,
I was probably 10. I see clips on social media here and there, like just a random moment from
the show, but it's called Welcome in the Middle. Life's still life's still unfair. Life's still
unfair, which that made me laugh in the middle. It's just about a family that
always has some problems going like literally. And guess what? The middle child always just
looked over. Oh, yeah. Looked over. Oh, for sure. For sure. And it starts Brian Cranston,
which I'm so excited to see him. Yeah. Well, like it's just so funny to see him going like
breaking bad to like this kind of dad role. Like, I mean, he was a dad making that. Yeah.
Completely different situation. Like the different push of like the comedic like sides
to things. Right. Because I feel like I'm breaking like I haven't really seen Breaking
Bad personally. But I feel like it's just so different than like Malcolm in the Middle,
where it's like at that point, like it was like a Nickelodeon TV show. Yeah. And now it's just
evolving once again to things. Yeah. So I'm just like it's just kind of crazy, like watching all
of these things from like a different perspective and our frontal lobes developed. I'm not really
sure. I know. And like I watched the trailer for it. Mm hmm. And it's basically about Malcolm and
how he had a rough childhood and doesn't tell his new family that has about anybody's family at all.
Like I from the commercial, I heard that like he said they were all like dead.
And then I forget how it happens, but they meet up with the family. And that's how like the reunion
kind of happens. So I the first episode already came out, but I do want to watch it.
So now does Malcolm older, though? I need to. Yeah, they're all adults. They're all adults now.
Oh, me. Oh, my. They're all adults. And the actual actor, I forget his name,
that plays Malcolm is like a professional, like NASCAR driver.
Yes. I remember seeing that online. That's honestly that's absolutely hilarious. Hey,
took away from acting, but now he's back. Now he's back. Like the first line that he says in
the trailer is like, hey, I look a little bit different because he's older, you know?
No, I absolutely love that. So now I need I need to get going. Is that shows on?
Is that on a streaming service? Give me one second. Because my friend texted me about it
and she just didn't. Blue Disney plus. So so. Wow. Because it was a Nickelodeon show.
Yeah. I'm sure Disney must have just gotten like the credits to it or something.
Oh, OK. So the plot, you can look this up for yourself. This is should not be any spoilers.
No spoilers. Malcolm was pulled back into his family's orbit for his parents 40th anniversary,
exploring his new life with a daughter and girlfriend while dealing with his eccentric
family. It's giving like the iCarly like new show that got canceled. That's like that's what it's
giving. I didn't like it. I'm sorry. I pulled on my heartstrings. You can't.
It was, you know, Freddie got his dream of being with Carly. That's the only thing I care about,
to be honest. I did. I did approve of that. But anyway, the first episode came out April 10th.
I did notice that on Hulu Disney Plus. So check that out if you're interested.
I had Disney Plus. If you want to go and watch it, you can watch it together.
But there is a historic movie in the works. OK, I love me a sweet treat. So now the history.
So now the history of a sweet treat. I'm ready and locked in because you sent me the commercial,
actually. And I like well, like the one like camera thing I really noticed. It's like the
time period of it. And then it's like you could tell it was like dark and like mysterious. But
it's like it's about chocolate. Like that's how you're getting me like sucked into. Yeah.
So the movie is about the history of Hershey's. We didn't say that. Oh, but it's about
I forget his first name, but Hershey is named after the actual person. Yes. Which I never
realized that until watching the commercial. No, but it just kind of takes you on the story of how
like Hershey was created. I didn't see any Hershey kisses, but I saw like the bar.
Yeah. So do you like I I think that everybody's 50 50 on if they like Hershey's or not.
I absolutely I love Hershey's. I love them. The little like baggies. And then I have a
controversial take and everyone's about to get mad at me about it. I like white chocolate cookies
and cream. Thank you. Thank you. The cookies and cream on the birthday cake one. Those are
my favorite. I could literally sit and pick at them. They're so good. I will say I you know,
back when I used to watch like different kind of YouTube, I used to watch like, you know,
like people from like one like British people trying in there. Yes. I also have watched that
and everybody hated original Hershey's. They would say that it's rainy. Oh, yeah. But they
loved the hurt. They loved the cookies and cream one. What does that tell you? So what does that
tell you? And I are always right. We will never steal you guys. Let me look up if there's a
release date for that. It was like just announced. It was just yeah. Literally, I think the trailer
dropped two days ago. Hershey movie and his wife, Kitty. That's so cute. Yeah, it is upcoming.
Yeah. Just says upcoming in twenty twenty six. Or is that because the trailer dropped?
I have not. Yeah, they're doing it as Hershey and his wife, Catherine Kitty Hershey. And she
was actually in Jackson. Oh, OK. And Andreas. Oh, yeah. So now they're describing this as a
what was it? Biographical thing. It's like a drama film. So, yeah, it talks about their you know,
it's like the rags to riches kind of story. Yes. And I love those arcs. I do. So honestly,
I'm excited to see that the most out of everything we talked about today. What about you?
Me too. Yeah. There's like more we could talk about, but we might take a quick break before
we do. Yes. We'll continue our conversation on new things, movies, music and food, pretty much.
Exactly. We'll be right back. All right. Welcome back to our last segment of In the Loop.
And to finish it all off, we have kind of a sprinkle of it all. We have like one more movie
update we didn't get to talk about in the other segment. But you'll be excited about this. The
Yes. So confirmed by Variety and someone else, production starts for the movie on April 27th.
We still don't have a release date, but team Conrad or team Jeremiah is back. It's back.
So what's the clock going to be? Do you have any idea? There has been a ton of speculation
that it's going to be like Conrad and Belli's wedding back at Cousins Beach. And if this
wedding is not successful, I will be angry. Yeah, I will be angry.
There's going to be at least one successful marriage in this.
Oh, 100 percent. So it could be that or at the end of the show, there was pictures of Christmas
at Cousins with them together. So I don't know if it's going to go into Christmas and then back
into the summer. There's a lot of fan speculation that it's going to go more in depth about Conrad's
like mental health and his mental health struggles with his mom who died of cancer.
True, true. But then Jeremiah, the actor who plays Jeremiah was like, I want a death scene.
What? This is a child movie? Not like a child, but like a tween movie, I would say.
I don't know who they would. Like who? No one would kill you. Jeremiah, I know.
Literally, he was like, the actor was like, I want a death scene. And we were like,
he wanted a death scene just like in the movie in general. Yeah, he wanted a death scene like
in the movie of him. OK. And it's like, well, I know a lot of people are not Team Jeremiah,
but like, it's not that dramatic. It's not that dramatic. Calm down. It's OK. Like,
you are a great part of the plot. You need to stay, I fear. I'm Team Conrad, sorry. Oh,
Team Conrad, 100 percent. Did he need a little therapy in season one? Yes. But I am just ready
for the blossoming of their relationship. And I'm ready. I'm ready. Whenever she would walk
into a room, his you could like being like a romance girly. I'm like, yes. OK, people were
saying you like that literally, literally girls take notes, take notes because people were saying
that Chris Brinley. Sorry if I mispronounce your name. His he's such a good like just his facial
expressions as an actor and like how he just like cried and like the people like Oscar right now.
Get it, Oscar, right now. And I was like, no, I 100 percent agree. Yes. But that's in the works.
There's no dates or nothing yet. No trailer, nothing yet. So when that does come out,
we'll keep you guys in the loop on that. But there was other music announcements.
We'll do quick on this. We have another topic. But Somber announced that he's going on tour
with Dove Cameron as his opening act, which I think is crazy. Dove Cameron, give yourself more
credit. You know, I'm baffled, but I guess this is a new trend now because Miley Cyrus's sister,
Noah, is also opening for Alex Warren. Yeah. So I don't know what like statistical tactic this is
that like celebrities who I guess have flopped, quote unquote, are like going back to people who
are like viral on TikTok to try to get their name back. Like all I know Dove Cameron from
is from Disney Channel. That's also true. Like Liv and Maddie. Yes. Yes. So it's just kind of like
I think she's trying to make a bigger name for herself. So it's like, good job. But I feel like,
hey, Sabrina Carpenter, we were all speculating you were going on tour with her. That would be
great. I just don't understand Somber personally. I do like his music. But I mean, I don't like
Sabrina opened up for Taylor Swift. Yes. Like the rebrand makes no sense. Like Zara Larson opened up
for Tate McRae and like Zara Larson was popular in like 2023. And so now her whole rebrand has
definitely helped. But like, I just don't think this rebrand with Somber is not the route to go.
You will have to see. I will not be going. I might try to get tickets. My sister loves him.
I'm just not. And I might be getting concert tickets soon. If I do, I'll let you guys know.
Let's dive right in before we end off to something that's currently happening.
Is it currently happening or is it over? Currently, the Weekend 2 is coming up.
OK. OK. So, yeah, Weekend 1 of Coachella, there has been a lot of tea and a lot of drama.
Especially with the music part of it. And I'm going to make this known now.
Justin Bieber's performance was not for you new people. Justin Bieber's performance was for the
OGs that have been around since early 2000s. I had a cardboard cutout. I love that. No,
my best friend did, but I wanted it. Oh, I would have taken it. I was jealous that she had one.
Don't get me wrong. Sabrina's performance was absolutely amazing. I'm so proud of her. That's
what you get for giving a theater kid a budget. She did amazing. I just don't think either side
of this, Justin Bieber or Sabrina, should ever be penalized for the work that they do because
it's absolutely amazing and they have completely taken over this industry. And I'm so ready to see
what's next. But Justin, Justin, Justin, one part during his performance, he pulled up his
own picture of himself and saying, that should be me. He's saying so many old tits. Harmonized
with himself when he was younger, which healed my, you know. Healed our hearts. Like 13 year old.
Yeah. Like that was, that was the whole thing all the drama was about. Cause people were like,
oh, he's just sitting here like playing karaoke. Keep in mind that was only 20 minutes of his like
hour thing, like calm down. And like he did favorite girl. He did, that should be me. He
did one less lonely girl. He did all of his old stuff crying. So now it's like with all of this,
what's week weekend two going to look like? Yeah. Who do we know who's performing?
It's this, it's the same people, but now Sabrina Carpenter gets an extra 10 minutes of her set.
So is it man's best friend tour going to be announced? We'll see.
Justin Bieber. I haven't seen any set time differences with him, but it's like,
so are you just going to do one of the largest shows and then just be gone again or something
else? That would be something that he would do. I would be so angry. I know. I would see
I would go into chronic credit card debt. I wanted to go so bad and, but we couldn't,
but my dad set up like a projector screen and living room and played the movie and had like
a chair out for me. And I watched like, that is so wholesome. Are you kidding me?
Oh, that's so wholesome. If he does go on tour, you know, I'm buying, you know, again,
I will go into chronic credit card debt. Sorry, discover. It's fine. It's fine. Points. Um,
you know, you get points on your credit card. Exactly. Exactly. But we have to wrap it up
here, unfortunately due to timing, but there's so much more we have to talk about next week.
Yes, definitely. Yeah. So you will see you guys same time next week. All righty. See you guys
later.
