2 Michelin stars Disfrutar Barcelona: how it started?

Disfrutar Barcelona, 2 Michelin stars restaurant is number 9 at world's 50 best 2019 list. You don't know this but this success story started in Cadaques. Compartir, in the town of Cadaqués, Spain was the first restaurant opened by Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, Mateu Casañas. After working at elBulli for 15 years, 3 top chefs decided to open their own restaurant.

This is probably the smallest kitchen that you have seen. But magic can happen in a small place.

As the name suggests ("compartir" is the verb "to share" in Spanish), the menu will be made up of 35 to 40 items designed for sharing. According to Casañas, "It won't be creative or traditional cooking... it will be simple, easy to understand, and without pretension. Unlike Disfrutar Barcelona, «el restaurante Compartir» has no 2 Michelin stars. But here you will find a real modern Spanish cuisine that is worth to visit Cadaques: the town where Pablo Picasso spent some time.
