Hi everyone, David Hoffmann here from Davidsbeenhere.com. In this video I give you my best tips for packing light with a carry-on. First thing you should do is invest in good quality luggage. I highly recommend the carry-on suitcase by Away Travel.

Here are some reasons why I love it:
-You can lock it: TSA-approved combination lock into the top of your bags the zippers slot right in, so no one's getting into your stuff but you (and the TSA)
-It's super lightweight - the entire bag weighs in at only 7.2 lbs!
-Charge multiple devices: A removable interior 10,000 mAh battery and two USB ports let multiple devices charge at once. Wall adapter and luggage-charging cable are included.
-Durable material: The hardshell exterior is made of 100% Bayer Makrolon polycarbonate, a material unrivaled in strength and impact resistance.

Tip 1: Maximize space on a carry-on by rolling up all your clothing. You should also put your socks inside your shoes to save even more space!

Tip 2: Pack your shoes in a shoe bag. If you don't have a shoe bag use a plastic super market bag or disposable shower caps (the kind that you get from hotel bathrooms).

Tip 3: To keep your clothes smelling good buy dryer sheets and put a couple in between your clothes.

Tip 4: To keep dirty clothes separate from clean clothes get a laundry bag. The Away carry-on conveniently comes with one.

Tip 5: For washing clothes on the go, I recommend buying a travel size laundry detergent. You can wash your clothes in the hotel sink and hang it to dry overnight.

Tip 6: If you decide not to take a camera with you, I suggest buying a lens for your phone. I have an iPhone 6+, and I highly recommend the 4-in-1 lens by Olloclip. It's a great way to get incredible photos with your phone without bulk!

Tip 7: Instead of taking books or magazines get yourself a kindle or iPad to save space. You can download your travel guides and reading materials there AND you can charge it on your Away carry-on.
