April Homemaking in the English Countyside | Slow Living Vlog

Tired October, the month of artists and singers.
The English landscape is turning redder every day.
And the colors and songs of birds return to the earth.
We leave the heavy cats and shoes behind us,
And life feels easier and easier again.
The perfect time to practice a life of freedom
And friendship with the simple pleasures of everyday life.
Life has returned to the forest.
Weary garlic, lead, the earth
And the first fresh leaves begin to appear on the trees and shores.
This is also your mark, to leave behind the weight of winter
and to search for new energy and hope.
On a sunny day, Andrzej and I stopped at a winter sports shop,
to see what they have, and we found the perfect addition to our home.
If you're new here, we bought our house last November,
But I'm not moving a single step.
Sometimes I collect shops and decorations that are meaningful to me.
and make our home feel like a home.
At the end of November, as shown on the right-hand side,
The second piece of winter clothing we bought.
I am very satisfied with this.
I loved the dark clouds, green goggles
And disabilities that tell me this complex has its own history.
Our little old house was very small.
Even though our new house isn't big,
We have so much more space,
For the first time in my life, I have more space than things.
I will most likely fill this book complex with books.
Maybe I'll make it thematic
And I'll use it only for books related to nature.
Oh my God, I'm so happy with how it looks.
I wanted a lamp in this period of centuries.
I loved how my maid
It's moving slowly together,
Because it was the last room in the house where I had started decorating.
I would like to think that Mrs. Marpole
She would feel at home in my room
She would greatly love this complex.
Maybe I should dedicate it to Agatha Christie's books.
The first cold days of September
They fulfill the obligations of what is soon to come.
Heat and light have returned
And they will stay with us until the cold begins again.
Now I feel much more like a genuine beginning,
than in November.
I have so many things I can look forward to
for the rest of the year.
The conclusion of my book on free living,
our series of expectations for a cold September,
starting in late November
And another project that awakens in my mind,
which can only develop during the sales period.
I never do shopping,
I have a lot to show you today
I promise you, it's all terrible.
Starting from this shaping of the ideal,
Made by my cousin Ola from Poland.
It's just beautiful, so well done.
Ola certainly has a talent for such delicate work.
Then come the crystals from the Heritage family.
from my mother in Romania.
Andrzej's mother interested me
with crystals from her shops
and it's surprising to think about,
they were made in Czechoslovakia,
a country that has not existed since 1993
The crystals were a major part of the decoration in the house.
when I was growing up.
Probably every boy from Eastern Europe
Remember them.
I loved adding it to my home.
This brings back so many memories.
I don't know if this is some kind of sign from the universe,
But it seems to me that I see crystals everywhere,
And now my lovely mother from home
She sent it to me too.
The quick search told me,
that crystals symbolize transformation,
rise and the journey of the soul
moving from one stage of life to another.
Maybe it's a good sign
for my emerging career as an author.
Andrzej's mother also sent a family photo album.
full of pictures of Andrzej
and his younger brother playing around
plus some black and white wedding photographs.
Looking through it brought us so much joy.
I love that we are becoming keepers of family history.
The last thing I wanted to show you in this video
is a set of vintage plates.
I bought them at a charity shop.
Just £5 for 10 plates.
I probably use a couple for decorating the home,
but the rest will be for everyday use.
I remember some advice I was jokingly given.
to buy beautiful everyday items
so that even if my home is messy,
It would still look good.
And there really is something to it.
On the blog, we are discussing the most common reasons
holding you back from slow living.
I based it on the thousands of comments.
and the emails I have received over the years,
sometimes reading between the lines
One thing I want to say here
Is that the simplest slow living practices?
like spending time outdoors
or cooking from scratch
are often dismissed as too simple to be effective
while in fact the most dangerously easy thing
is getting lost in the online world.
Compared to social media,
offline hobbies and wellness
require much more effort
but what we are truly choosing
ourselves and real life over fantasy.
Against mobile phones,
I use them myself.
but it's about remembering
that the technology is meant to serve us,
Not the other way around.
I welcome you to read more on the blog
and if you do,
Please leave your thoughts in the comments.
Thank you for watching
And I hope to see you on the blog.
