Hiking at Yakushima Island

A cinematic compilation of getting from sea level all the way up to 2km heights on Yakushima island in Kyushu, Japan. Truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Shooting conditions were incredibly hard as most hikes were undertaken during a strong Typhoon. It was wet and really dark even during mid day under the thick forest canopy, as can be seen from the film. All in all though, the rough weather only made the ancient forest more charismatic and alive.
