In November of 2018, I visited India for the second time that year to explore more of the countryâs delicious food and fascinating culture, and meet more amazing people along the way. I love India so much and I hope my travels there inspire you to experience this mind blowing country for yourself!
On the morning of our second day in Pune, my friend Sam and I set out to explore a different type of Indian food: Indian fast food! So we headed to the McDonaldâs on JM Road for a breakfast that was very different from what weâre used to in North America! Join us as we explore the different breakfast foods McDonaldâs has to offer in India!
Here are all the foods I tried at this amazing McDonaldâs in Pune!
-Veg Brioche
This breakfast sandwich consists of a corn and spinach patty and a slice of American cheese on a brioche bun, a type of French bread that has a high egg and butter content. The bun was light and fluffy, and the patty was a perfect blend of corn and spinach and was full of delicious Indian flavors. I loved this veg breakfast sandwich!
-Dosa Masala Brioche
The Dosa Malasa Brioche contains two incredibly tasty patties that are packed with masala flavor on another fluffy brioche bun and topped with American cheese. It was very mild, not spicy at all, and the texture was nice and soft. The flavors all worked really well together and made for a truly amazing sandwich that I went back to after I tried everything else!
-Masala Chai
I actually liked this chai better than the ones you get out on the streets! It wasnât as hot and was the perfect temperature. The flavors are so unique to India; itâs milky, frothy, peppery, and full of local spices, and the combination makes for an exceptional local specialty you canât get anywhere else.
-Belgian Waffle
Like the brioche buns, the Belgian waffle was very light, fluffy, and buttery. I topped it with dollops of hot fudge, caramel, and whipped cream. The hot fudge was thick and rich, while the caramel was super sweet. I loved trying all three toppings on the waffle, which is outstanding. I highly recommend it!
-Scrambled Eggs
Next up was the scrambled eggs. They came with a bun, which I didnât eat, as well as ketchup and chili sauce. The eggs by themselves are spicy and bursting with masala flavor. I tried a bit of the chili sauce with the eggs for an added kick of heat, but I prefer them without the sauce. Theyâre perfect on their own! Some of the best scrambled eggs Iâve ever had in my life!
-Hash Brown
The next food I tried was the hash brown, which had a soft texture and wasnât too crunchy like some hash browns are. It was crispy and perfectly cooked and exactly the same as the ones in America!
-Hot Cakes
The last item I tried on the Indian McDonaldâsâ breakfast menu was the hot cakes, which is one of my favorite things to order at McDonaldâs back at home in Miami. I drowned them in maple syrup, and like the hash brown, they were identical to the ones in America. They were heavenly; very light and fluffy, sweet, buttery. Everything you could possibly want in a pancake.
McDonaldâs in India is on another level, and I see why people travel all the way to this country just for it! The portions arenât very large, but the food is so delicious and of such a high quality that I have to recommend it to anyone traveling to India. Be sure to give my favorites, the Dosa Masala Brioche and the masala scrambled eggs, a try!
