If you were to progress in this competition, and God forbid win,
I think you could single-handedly close down the show.
You nasty man!
My name is Martin Matcham, I'm 35, and I play guitar and sing.
My guitar is a one of a kind.
I've customised it because it's just something that I wanted to do.
It's to stand out from the crowd.
Nobody else is ever going to have anything that's like it.
My family are very supportive.
My wife is extremely supportive.
My mother-in-law put me in for this competition,
so the whole family is 100% backing me, yes.
I'm Martin's number one fan, and I just think he's so good.
And I just want everybody else to see how good he is as well.
Hello.
Hi.
My name is Martin Matcham.
Why are you here today, Martin?
I'm here to hopefully win Britain's Got Talent.
By playing guitar and singing.
Yeah.
And how good are you, Martin?
People seem to think that I'm extremely good,
but we're here to find that out.
Okay, off you go.
Piers.
I want to say one thing, Martin, all right?
You just rocked the Hammersmith Apollo.
Oh, come on, Piers.
You heard it!
No, I didn't.
Absolutely sensational.
Amanda.
I do apologise, Martin, because I think I buzzed you too early,
because it was pure genius.
I got completely into it.
Well, I'm obviously in a slightly different place to these two, Martin.
I thought it was...
...terrible.
When your guitar lit up like something out of a fairground,
with that horrendous solo,
and then, of course, the singing was even worse than the guitar playing.
If you were to progress in this competition and, God forbid, win,
I think you could single-handedly close down the show.
You nasty man.
You don't get the wrong guitar.
It's not a rock guitar.
It is a rock guitar, you just don't get it.
It's just over your head.
Right.
Simon, yes or no?
Absolutely never.
Amanda.
It's a yes from me, Martin.
Yeah.
Martin, I am all for a yes.
You are through to the next round.
Thank you very much.
He's through to the next round.
I know, but he didn't need those comments.
It was nothing.
Hey, well done.
Thank you.
Well done.
Your mother-in-law's got on.
Your mother-in-law's just got on.
Simon, I'm his mother-in-law.
Yeah.
He's got very little confidence anyway.
You have probably just belittled his confidence even more.
I think you were really, really nasty.
Does that feel better?
Have I embarrassed you?
I'm sorry if I've done it again.
Again?
There's a story behind this.
Mr. Comments would destroy anybody's confidence
and I think he was just horrible.
Anyone else?
Any other relatives?
Make me feel any worse?
Playing the guitar, it is my life.
If I didn't have guitar to play,
I really don't know what I would do.
I would like to see Martin go on to win
and prove Simon Cowell wrong.
Both Martin and, of course, the mother-in-law
are in a completely different world to me, basically.
Martin is an average guitar player
with a ridiculous guitar.
My new guitar for tonight has got more lights in it.
It's definitely got even more of the well factor.
Martin Maysham is my kind of actor.
He's born to be in this show.
I'd love to win Simon over.
I'm going to give this everything I've got
and I am going to light up that stage.
Well done, Martin.
How was that?
Fantastic.
You really enjoyed that, didn't you?
Now, can I just check, the mother-in-law,
is she here tonight?
She is tonight.
She's over there in the audience.
Stay in your seat.
We don't want you getting up here.
What would it mean to you to win this competition?
I'll get through to Saturday's final, at least.
To get to Saturday's final, tomorrow's final,
would be fantastic, would be superb.
I'd love that.
You would, wouldn't you?
I'd love that.
This guitar was specially designed for tonight, am I right?
Yes, this is specially designed for this evening.
If you do get to the final,
have we got something special planned?
Keep that to yourself.
Don't give everything away.
I'll take that as a yes.
Don't give everything away.
Piers, what did you think of that?
Well, Martin, look at you.
I mean, this is Robert Palmer reincarnated.
I mean, I loved you at the audition
because I love the fact
there are millions of musicians out there like you
who just dream of this kind of moment, right?
Wasn't it?
This was the biggest moment
you've probably ever had, wasn't it?
And I could tell that from the look of your face,
I loved the backing band,
loved the new guitar, loved the suit.
I loved all of it.
I thought it was a great performance.
Martin, I loved you in the audition.
I think you've actually improved as well.
I think your guitar playing has got much better.
And I think you,
there's a little bit of sex appeal coming in.
I loved the band,
didn't like your voice,
and hated the guitar solo.
I mean, it was completely out of tune,
distorted, ridiculous,
and I wouldn't worry too much
about what you're going to have to play tomorrow night.
Putt, stay where you are.
Stay where you are.
They tied me down.
Anything you'd like to say about there, Martin?
Amanda and Pierce,
both your comments are fantastic.
I love it.
And Simon?
Simon, you're entitled to your own opinion.
Thank you.
Good lad.
It's not up to him,
it's up to everybody at home.
Can't wait to see what she's got in store for us tonight.
Here she is.
Maira de Bois!
Look at you,
all the judges sat there on your little kiosks.
I don't know whether you're judging a competition
or shellacking my nails.
Before we start,
just a little warning.
I do talk quite quickly,
so if at any point you reckon I'm talking too quick,
all you've got to do,
think a little bit faster.
Please tell us your name.
Barbara Nice.
Barbara's in strides at nice as in the biscuit, Dave.
Oh.
They are nice, those biscuits, aren't they?
They are.
My name is Gatis Kandis,
and in case you want to follow me,
this is what I look like from behind.
Thank you.
And how old are you?
Forty.
And are you married?
Is that a proposal?
No, not married.
Not to my knowledge.
