Hello you guys, James Charles here
and welcome back to my YouTube channel.
Prom season is upon us and never fear.
I am here to make sure that you don't look ugly
for your 2026 prom.
If there's anybody that has the credentials
to walk you through the perfect prom makeup,
it's going to be me.
Unfortunately, this is what I looked like at my prom.
My prom photos have haunted me
for the last 10 plus years of my life.
So by the end of today's YouTube video,
my goal is to make sure that you
don't make the same makeup mistakes that I did.
Now, if you'll remember,
we actually uploaded a natural prom makeup tutorial last year
because all of you guys requested it,
but I had no idea it was going to end up going so viral.
Thousands of you followed that prom makeup tutorial,
uploaded your videos to TikTok
showing me your beautiful makeup looks
for your special night,
which made me so, so, so happy.
And all of you guys have requested
that we do it again in 2026.
Now you'll see we have the painted backdrop behind me.
Usually we pop this baby up
whenever we have a new product launch.
Our lip balms literally just launched last week.
Thank you guys so much for all of your love and support.
Officially our biggest launch ever.
I do not have a new product for you in today's video,
but I do have a brand new bundle
to help you out during prom season.
Last year, I provided the tutorial,
but this year I want to provide the product.
So I talked to my Painted team
and I'm so excited to announce
that we have added a Painted prom bundle
to our site and TikTok shop
where you can get some of our best-selling products
for a massive, massive discount.
We have combined our basic canvas,
24-shade neutral eyeshadow palette,
all the masks that you could ever need for a prom look
and shimmers that will literally have your eyeballs
twinkling and shimmering
in all of your little Canon G7X photos
or underneath the disco ball,
along with any shade of our Painted blush duos.
And yes, I made sure every single shade
was back in stock for this bundle,
including Snuggle and Ginger Snap.
So you get to select whatever color
you think is best gonna match your glam or your dress.
And this bundle also includes
our best-selling Painted accessories,
our dual-ended J15 blush brush,
so you can apply your Painted blush
or cream contours, foundations,
whatever you need in your base routine,
and our oversized Painted sponge,
perfect for foundation, concealer,
cream contour, bronzer,
and making sure your entire base looks flawless.
And all four of these viral best-selling products
are only gonna cost you 100 bucks.
So if you want to show up to prom fully Painted,
head on over to painted.co or on our TikTok shop
to shop now while supplies last.
So grab your Painted prom bundle
because the four products will definitely work
no matter what look you create.
But if you're looking for a more natural prom glam,
check out last year's video.
But if you want a full coverage,
full glam Painted prom look, keep on watching.
If you guys are excited for our 2026 prom makeup tutorial,
you guys already know the drill,
thumbs up, subscribe down below if you haven't already,
click that notification bell
so you get notified just like this
every time I upload a brand new video.
I'm not gonna waste your time,
I know I've already yapped long enough.
Let's get right into this,
starting off with skincare and skin prep.
The first thing that I want you guys to grab
in your makeup routine today is going to be a toner.
We are gonna start with skincare.
Usually I just go right into primer or eyeshadow
or just starting on the base routine
because I'm usually pretty chill about skincare.
But if we're going full glam today,
I wanna make sure that your beautiful faces
are prepped, primed, and hydrated
underneath all the makeup
so your glam is gonna last all night long.
Now, I do wanna do a disclaimer,
aside from the painted products, of course,
I'm not being sponsored or paid
to include anything in today's video.
I'm gonna give you guys a lot of recommendations
and if anything sounds fun,
feel free to try it out for yourself.
But what I don't want you to do
is go out and buy every single thing
that I recommend in today's video,
especially not skincare, okay?
Do you hear me?
Everyone's skin is super, super sensitive,
especially when you're in your teenage years.
So I don't want you guys to go out
and buy a full new skincare routine
because God forbid one of the products breaks you out,
God forbid you're allergic to something,
or God forbid it just doesn't sit well
underneath your makeup.
I want you to use products that you know work for you,
that way there's no surprises
that you're not stressed out
when everything goes super, super smoothly
on your special day.
If you do wanna try out anything new,
what I would always recommend
is get all your products a week early,
put on your little dress over the weekend,
and try out your makeup look
that you're gonna do in advance.
That way you can see what you like,
what you don't like,
you can make any changes,
or if you love it,
you can just replicate the same exact process
on your prom day
so that there's no stress
and everything goes super, super smoothly.
Doing a toner first
just to get the skin nice and hydrated,
making sure any dirt or excess makeup
is completely wiped off.
And this is gonna do a little bit of exfoliating
in the process
to make sure that your base is super smooth.
I'm gonna let my skin dry.
Then I want you guys to go in
with some sort of milky, glazy toner.
Okay, I know everybody in their makeup collection
has the RODE Glazing Milk.
I frickin' love this.
I use this almost every single day
in my skincare routine.
POV has their Drench It,
so whatever you wanna use,
just add a little bit of hydration
into your skin.
We're gonna put that right on top.
Just gonna do a couple little drops
right in my hand.
Then I'm just gonna go ahead and apply.
Make sure your hands are nice and washed, too.
Ya nasties.
Wow, honestly, I'm gonna be real with you guys.
I don't do toner before my makeup routine
nearly enough,
but my skin already feels as soft as butter.
Slam!
Oh, gorgeous, all right.
Bring it down the neck as well.
I know if you're watching this tutorial
and you're going to prom,
you're probably a teenager,
but it's never too early
to start preventing wrinkles, okay?
Next, we're gonna do a little bit of moisturizer.
I'm gonna use the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream.
If you do have a couple of different moisturizers
in your collection,
what I would definitely recommend
is finding one that has a little bit of a thicker base.
I know a lot of you guys
have kind of a lightweight water cream moisturizer.
That is fine, too,
but something that is a little bit thicker in body
is gonna really sit nicely underneath your makeup
and provide all day long hydration.
See how my skin is already looking like glass?
Like, bitch, you can literally see your reflection
in my cheek.
Okay, that's what we want,
especially because later on
we're definitely gonna be doing
some more full coverage glam.
We wanna make sure that they kind of are balanced out.
And then last but not least,
I'm gonna grab some under eye patches.
These are from COSRX,
but any under eye patch will work.
When you put on a full coverage base routine,
especially concealer,
there's gonna be a lot of product under your eyes.
So you wanna make sure that it goes on super smooth
and doesn't get dry or creasy throughout the day.
So I'm just gonna grab my little under eye patches,
just like this.
And then we are going to apply.
Right underneath the eyes, just like so.
There we go.
Okay, now I'm gonna go ahead and zoom you guys in.
We're gonna do the eyeshadow
while these patches kind of sit on the face
and let that skincare really seep into the skin.
That way by the time we get to the base routine
later on in the video,
the hydration has penetrated the skin barrier
and we are ready to turn into vanilla cake.
Come closer.
We're gonna get started on eyeshadow first.
I'm just gonna grab any concealer
that you might have in your makeup collection.
I'm gonna grab my Tarte Shape Tape
just because it is my tried and true.
She's literally never done me wrong.
And what I'm gonna do is place a couple of little dots
of this concealer right on my eyelid.
Now, if you do have an eyeshadow primer
that you absolutely love, you can use that instead.
But concealer is gonna work just as well
and you probably already have it in your makeup bag.
So we're gonna do that instead, okay?
Then I'm just gonna take a dense little concealer brush
and use this to start patting it in to my eyelids.
Bringing it out to my temple as well
because there will be some eyeshadow out here
and I wanna make sure that everything
has a super smooth base.
Obviously the brows are not done yet,
but we're gonna get to those later on.
And see how we now have a super even base
for the eyeshadow to be applied on top of?
That is what we are looking for.
Now, of course, I'm gonna grab our basic canvas palette.
As I talked about,
this is in our brand new Painted Prom Bundle.
This comes with 24 beautiful neutral shades
that you guys can really use for any prom makeup look.
Now, I know that you guys have requested full glam for today
and I'm gonna give that to you,
but we will try to keep it somewhat universal.
Obviously you can switch up a little pops of color
or little shimmers depending on the jewelry
that you're wearing or your dress,
but I'm not gonna sit here and teach you guys
how to do a blue smokey eye for prom, okay?
We need to be serious for a second.
So we're still gonna keep it neutral inside of this palette,
but we'll definitely make sure it's elevated
from last year's look.
Let's get right into it.
Starting off with a big fluffy brush.
This is our Painted J14.
I'm gonna dip into a little bit of Cookie Dough.
It is this cool tone light brown shade
right in the top row of the palette.
And I'm gonna use this as a really, really,
really light wash of color in the crease.
Now, Cookie Dough is pretty close
to my natural skin tone,
so it's not gonna look like I'm doing a lot
during this step.
You'll see a little bit of dimension
added to my lid right here,
but that is on purpose.
I wanna start getting this concealer set
with a little bit of shadow.
That way everything blends really beautifully on top of it.
See how it just kind of looks like a natural shadow?
That's what we want.
Then I'm gonna use a smaller crease brush.
This is our Painted J11,
and I'm gonna dip into Oak.
Now, Oak, similar to Cookie Dough,
is a cool tone brown,
but it's a little bit darker.
And we're gonna use this and pop it right into the crease
in little windshield and circular motions
just to add a little bit more dimension.
And I'm just keeping the tip of that brush
focused right underneath my actual crease and brow bone.
Now, if you don't know where your natural crease is,
what I want you guys to do
is just look right in your mirror
and then just move your head back and forth.
Wherever that natural fold forms
is right where your crease is.
See how you can see?
Right there.
There's your crease.
There it is.
Where'd it go?
There it is.
Okay, so you're just gonna shove your brush
right in there,
and you're just gonna wiggle it back and forth
so the most pigment and darkest part of that shadow
is right in that natural fold.
But then the wispier brush here
is blended out with that lighter shade just like that.
Then I'm gonna grab a small little rounded fluffy brush
and dip into Treehouse.
Now, like Cookie Dough and Oak,
it's also a cool tone brown,
but you'll notice we're getting progressively darker
as we continue to layer up shadows.
Everyone has their own personal preferences
on how they like to layer eyeshadow.
Some people always start off
with their darkest shade first,
which, weirdly enough,
is what I do with colorful makeup looks.
But if I'm using neutral colors,
I always do light first and work my way down.
It's a lot easier to add darker tones
than it is to take them away.
With the darker shade on this brush,
what I'm going to do is start wiggling this
right in my outer corner of my crease.
So again, that natural crease line
where your eyelid naturally folds,
but also bringing it into the outer corner.
Just wiggling this back and forth right in my outer corner.
Then once majority of that pigment
that was on that brush tip is already placed on the eyelid,
I'm gonna tap off any remaining excess.
Then with a really, really light pressure,
I'm gonna use that same brush,
but not pick up any more shadow.
And I'm going to really, really, really lightly
just do light circular motions on the outer corner.
Using super light pressure,
I'm like barely even touching the brush to my actual skin.
And I'm just gonna start lightly pulling
any excess shadow left over on the brush
outwards towards my temple.
If you need kind of a guide of where to put the shape,
I want you guys to kind of imagine a triangle, right?
See how like the bottom of my lid
kind of starts a line here?
So you wanna imagine that line follows the same angle
towards the outer edge of your face.
And then the eyebrow is gonna go the opposite direction.
So you wanna blend any eyeshadow up
within that triangular region.
Now, just like we blended that excess eyeshadow outwards,
I'm also gonna take any left that's in the crease
and bring that inwards.
At this point, there should barely be any pigment
that's being added,
but just a little bit of that darker shade
will still help add a dimension to the eyelid.
This is how you get really beautiful,
seamlessly blended eyeshadow looks
without them ever being harsh, patchy, or blotchy.
Just like that.
See how gorgeous that looks?
Now I'm gonna grab that same fluffy brush from before,
but I'm gonna dip into a little bit of UV Index.
Now UV Index is still a transition brown shade,
but it has a little bit more warmth to it.
I'm gonna tap off any excess.
Then I'm just gonna go right in,
in that same exact place where I put that oak shadow.
Oh, see how smooth that is?
If anything ever gets too harsh,
feel free to just grab a fluffy brush as well
and go right over those edges
to make sure that it's all fully seamless and smooth.
There we go.
See how smooth that is?
Exactly what we're looking for.
Now that we have the shadow kind of mapped out,
what we're gonna do now
is choose what color goes on our eyelid.
Now obviously for the sake of today's YouTube tutorial,
I can only pick one color,
but for you guys,
I want you to select based on one,
whatever you feel most drawn to,
but two, you're gonna make that decision
based on the color of your jewelry
or the color of your dress.
There's a couple of really great options in this palette,
and I'm gonna walk you guys through all of them
so you can make your best decision.
Here's a rough guide.
If you are pale,
if you have cool undertones in your skin,
or if your dress is a cool color,
so think black,
think cool tone brown,
think navy blue,
a deep purple,
a light lavender,
a light sky blue,
we have two really great options for you.
If you want shimmer,
you're going to use Finnegan,
this shade in the upper left-hand corner.
It is a beautiful cool tone champagne shade
that is going to twinkle and sparkle
on your lids.
It's a very light shadow,
kind of similar to ring light
in the OG James Charles palette
if you have that in your collection,
and this is gonna really flatter cool tone.
If you want a more matte look,
maybe you're not into glitter,
maybe you're not into sparkle,
again, just like we use on the brow bone,
you can also put sugar on your eyelid.
This is gonna give you a more 90s sort of look,
but it's gonna be really, really beautiful.
Now, if you have medium skin with warm undertones,
if you're wearing gold jewelry,
or if your dress is a warm color,
so think red,
think maroon,
think orange,
think yellow,
think emerald green,
you're gonna wanna use any of the shimmers
in the second row.
Obviously, we have Gold Coast,
this beautiful, vibrant gold.
This is gonna look so frickin' stunning on your eyelid.
You could also use Movie Night
if you want a little bit more of a bronzy look.
This one is gonna look so gorgeous,
especially if you have a deeper color dress,
or if you wanna really get smoky with it.
This shade Soul right here in the right-hand column,
for a really beautiful brown, deep, smoky eye,
this would look super, super beautiful,
especially if you have a light eye color,
like light blue, hazel, or green.
Last but not least,
if your dress is pink,
please, I beg of you,
use the pink shades in this third row.
They are going to look absolutely stunning.
If you have a cool tone pink,
or a baby pink dress,
use Cloud Nine.
If you have a more peachy pink dress,
you should absolutely use Champs,
this beautiful color right here,
or if you have a deeper skin tone,
or have a more kind of red-toned pink dress,
you can use Redstone,
and it's gonna look absolutely beautiful.
Now, obviously, this is your prom day, not mine.
If there's a shade in this palette
that you feel super, super drawn to,
feel free to shove it all over your eyelid,
put it on your lips, put it on your cheek,
put it wherever you want,
it's none of my business, okay?
For the sake of today's video,
I think I'm going to use a little pink on the lid.
It's fun, it's a little pop of color,
and if you guys wanted full glam in today's video,
that is what I'm going to give you.
So, what I'm gonna do is grab my little finger,
and I'm gonna dip right into Cloud Nine.
This is super beautiful, pale, baby pink shade.
Oh my God, it's literally so icy and beautiful,
even on the fingertip.
And instead of using a brush,
I'm just literally gonna go right in
and pop this onto my eyelid.
God, see how stunning and reflective that is?
It literally looks like molten, sparkly metal
on my eyeball.
Like, are you kidding me?
You guys, look at that.
You can leave it just like this,
but one pro tip that I would love to give you guys, right?
Obviously, light baby pink and a dark, cool-toned brown
are nowhere near each other on the color spectrum.
So, what I love to do is apply another little shade
right in between these to help them blend together.
So, I'm gonna grab a little bit of Shamp's,
the darker medium-toned pink in that palette,
and I'm just gonna place this with my finger
right over the edge where those two shadows meet.
Now, I don't wanna overlap the entire lid
because I really want that super bright baby pink
in that inner corner,
but using this medium-toned pink
is gonna help blend them together
and create a more seamless transition,
just like that.
Gorgeous.
Then, last but not least,
I'm gonna grab that small little fluffy brush
that we used in our crease
and dip into a little bit more of that medium-toned brown.
Oh, and I'm just gonna wiggle this right in between
that super dark brown in the outer corner
and that pink shimmer to blend them together
and make sure there's a perfect transition
between these two, just like that.
Then, with a little pencil brush,
I'm gonna dip into the same shade that we put on the lid.
So, in my case, it'd be Cloud 9,
and I'm just gonna dip into a tiny little bit of that,
and I'm gonna put that right into my inner corner
for a beautiful highlighter pop
that's gonna bring a lot of attention to your eyes,
just like that.
And then, I'm gonna take a square flat liner brush.
This is our Painted J3,
and I am going to lick it, okay?
Sorry if it's nasty.
I just need this to be wet,
and I need the bristles to be as stuck together
as humanly possible.
Then, what I'm gonna do is dip into a little bit of Treehouse
and a little bit of Lava Cake,
our super cool-tone darkest brown.
And then, what I'm going to do
is just start wiggling the very tip of this brush
right along my lash line.
Now, I don't wanna do a super, super, super thick
winged liner because I don't wanna cover up
all the beautiful eyeshadow work that we just did,
but I do wanna add just a little bit of darkness
directly to that lash line
because, of course, we are gonna glue on some false lashes,
and I wanna make sure that there's a little bit
of darkness here for those lashes to be grounded.
You need it all to blend together,
and the easiest way to do that
is by adding a little bit of darkness
right along that lash line.
Then, with whatever's left on the brush,
I'm just gonna use that J3
to drag out a really subtle and skinny wing.
Just like that.
Again, we don't want anything too crazy.
Just gonna pull out that line.
Then, using that same brush,
I'm just gonna drag it right back in,
connecting it to the eyelid for a little bit of dimension.
Super easy, right?
Now, obviously, our shimmer shades are crazy and glittery,
so what I want to do is grab any thin black brush tip liner
and use that to just go over the very, very base.
Again, we are not drawing on a super thick, full wing.
I do just wanna tuck this right up against that lash line
just to blend the lashes together
and add a little bit of dimension into that eyeliner.
There we go.
Ooh, look at how gorgeous that looks.
Look at that, you guys.
Look at that.
All right, now we're going to peel off our eye masks.
Our under eyes are beautiful and hydrated,
and they should be pretty dry at this point.
Oh, well, I guess I can keep on this one.
I haven't gotten to that eye yet.
And what I'm gonna do is just grab any old makeup wipe,
and I'm gonna clean up any fallout
from those shimmer shades,
and I'm gonna just stick my nail
right up against that liner,
pull my skin on my temple just like this,
and I'm gonna trace the bottom of that liner
with the tip of my nail inside that makeup wipe
to make it nice and sharp.
Nice and sharp.
Ooh, look at that, perfect.
Now, at this point, this eye is pretty much done,
so I'm gonna go ahead and do the one off-camera quickly,
and I'll come right back when we glue on the lashes.
We're back.
Both eyes are done.
Now it's time for lashes.
Now, what I'm going to do first and foremost
before I actually put this on my eyeball
is take a little makeup wipe.
This is the same one that I used to clean up the shadow,
and I'm going to go in,
and I'm going to clean my eyelash curler.
I feel like some of you nasty hoes
that never clean your makeup sponges
probably never do this either,
but if you want your eyelashes to stay gorgeous,
healthy, long-growing,
and make sure that you don't mess up your eyeshadow look
that you just spent 30 minutes on,
clean your frickin' lash curler.
Just gonna go in.
I'm gonna let this dry for a few seconds,
and then we go in and we give them a nice little curl.
You wanna make sure you have
all of your eyelashes in there,
especially those pesky ones in the outer corners.
Make sure that they are too lifted and gorgeously curled.
There we go.
Same thing on the other eye.
Now, we're going to use mascara.
Now, you guys know that I love to tease the painted mascara.
It's coming, hopefully, later on this year,
but I lost it.
Ooh, fuckin' lost it, you guys.
I was just on a trip to Lake Tahoe
for a fun little family ski trip,
and I left it at the cabin,
so I can no longer tease my painted mascara
until my lab sends me a new sample,
and I don't know when that's gonna be.
So, you can use whatever mascara is your personal favorite.
I like to use the MAC Extended Play.
It is a really, really great small wand
because we are definitely doing some false lashes
in today's makeup look, okay?
If you're looking for natural, soft glam,
no lashes, just mascara,
bitch, you're on the wrong video.
Go watch the cute little natural one from last year, okay?
That's for you.
This is for the full glam girlies,
so we already know we're gluing on a fake lash,
and we need to make sure
that we have at least a little bit of mascara
on our natural lashes first
so that everything is nice and blended together,
and this is a great, great, great mascara
that'll make sure your lashes are black, coated, lifted,
but not super crazy voluminous or spidery.
We are gonna do bottom mascara and bottom lash shadow,
but that'll be later on after the base routine,
so ignore that for right now.
Same thing on the other eye.
Again, we're just doing a really light coat here.
Then for lashes,
I'm gonna use anything that's shaped like this.
We just did this gorgeous shadow
with the darker outer corner and the wing,
so I wanna make sure the pair of lashes
that I'm gonna use match that shape.
I love a lash with a tiny, short little inner corner,
but then longer wispies
that are kind of winged out on the outer edge.
It's gonna be super, super flattering
on anybody's eye shape to really snatch and pull your face.
Just gonna grab a little bit of lash glue.
My personal favorite is the Duo Brush-On Adhesive,
and I'm just gonna paint it right on that lash band.
That glue goes on neon blue,
but you're gonna let it dry for a couple of seconds
before you actually put it onto your eyelid.
That way, it's a little bit stickier
and you don't have to do so much adjusting.
Now, if you wear lashes all the time,
no worries, just pop them on.
If you are new to lashes
or if this is your first time wearing lashes, no problem.
Prom is a perfect first occasion to wear lashes,
but it is not the time to try them out for the first time.
If you are going to be wearing lashes,
if you are going to be gluing them on yourself, do not!
Under any circumstances,
wait until your actual prom day to try them out, okay?
Buy two pairs if you need to.
Buy or glue a week in advance and practice,
because I'm gonna keep it real, this ---- is not easy.
Even as a beauty guru who has been doing this for 10 years,
sometimes I still struggle with gluing on my lashes.
Practice makes perfect.
The more you do it, the easier it does get.
But please do not leave your actual prom day
to be the first time that you try this out.
Grab a tweezer or a lash holder just like this
and grab a small compact with a mirror, okay?
If you buy the Painted Prom Bundle, use your painted blush.
I'm going to hold this blush component below my face, right?
So I'm looking downward, but my eyes are still open.
That way, you still have access to your whole eyelid
and you can see what you're doing.
So I'm holding the mirror below my eye
and I have the lash pinch with my tweezer
and I'm gonna start up and I'm going to drop them down
onto my lash line.
That way, my curled eyelashes don't get in the way
and you can easily access and get those lashes
as close to your lash line as humanly possible.
It should go on nice and easy
and then you can just use those tweezers
to make sure that the lash band
is fully connected to your lash line.
And because we let that glue sit for a couple of seconds,
it should stick right away
instead of having to adjust it over and over and over again.
See how easy that just glued right on there?
So you're gonna take your makeup wipe
and clean off your tweezer or your lash holder.
Sometimes there'll be excess mascara
that is sticky or lash glue
and the worst thing you can do
is go in to pinch your eyelashes together
and then all of a sudden,
you accidentally glue your ******* tweezers to your eyeball.
I've done it before, not fun
because it's gonna rip the eyelash right back off.
So once that is fully clean,
you're gonna go in and very, very, very carefully,
again, holding this mirror below,
you are going to pinch together
the newly glued on false lash with your natural lashes.
Once they are pinched together
and because of that black liner that we put on earlier,
it's going to look like these lashes
are actually growing out of your lash line.
Then I love to just take my little finger
and press the outer corners upward
to make sure that they're nice and lifted
and then last but very much not least,
you don't have to do this,
I personally like to take a little bit more of that mascara,
the tiniest bit.
I'm gonna really wipe off any excess
on the top of that mascara tube.
Then I'm just going to literally go in
and tickle the outer couple of spiky lashes
with the tip of that mascara wand
just to get them coated in that black
and to blend together any of those natural lashes
on the outer corner.
This is going to not only emphasize
those little spikes on the end,
but it's also gonna make your eyes look super, super lifted
and pulled.
Ooh, like I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, look at that.
And once that's all glued on there,
the very last step that I like to do
is grab that black ink liner one last and final time.
Gonna take the cap off
and again, looking down into my mirror,
I'm just gonna use the very, very, very tip of this liner
to paint over that lash band.
That way, if this is your second or third time
using the eyelash and there's any excess eyeshadow on it,
maybe some of the eyeshadow from the twinkle shades
might have fallen onto the lash band
or if any of the glue isn't fully dry,
this will fully help blend it all together
and make it look like these false lashes
are literally growing directly out of your lash line.
Ah, it's so beautiful.
That is one glued on.
Let's do the other one quickly.
And look at those beautiful prom eyes.
I feel like this is the perfect level of full-on glam
without it looking like you're going to prom in drag.
If you want to, be my guest.
But I feel like this is a great balance.
At this point, it's time to zoom ourselves out
and let's get started on this base routine.
Time for our face and our perfect smooth base.
I got a lot of questions from you guys asking,
how do we make my skin look literally perfect?
Again, last year's tutorial was all about
keeping it a little bit natural.
Today, we are going full-on glam, okay?
So what we are going to start off with
is a pore-filling primer.
This is from Milani.
It is Conceal and Perfect Blur Out Smoothing Primer.
Use whatever primer works for you.
For me personally, I have pretty big pores
on my cheeks and in my nose.
I'm just gonna grab a good chunk of this primer
on my finger and I'm gonna really start pushing it in
to any places that have a little bit more pores
and texture than the rest of my skin.
This is kind of like a putty consistency
and the goal is to really fill in any of those excess pores
so we get a super smooth base
with anything that goes over top.
Once that primer has all sat in place
and dried a little bit,
it is time to either spot conceal or color correct.
Now, I don't know what has happened,
but by some miracle, knock on wood,
my skin is looking really clear right now,
which is great for me.
I have a cute little photo shoot tomorrow.
Let's say a prayer and I will cross my fingers for you
that your skin is equally as clear
on your special occasion or prom day.
But in the event of a pimple or a breakout or a blemish,
it happens, right?
I'm on camera all the time.
My skin is never looking perfect.
There are a couple of things that you can do to correct it.
If you have any darkness underneath your eyes,
you're gonna use a little bit of a peach color corrector.
My favorite ones are definitely from Huda Beauty.
They have a ton of different shades you can choose from
depending on how deep your skin tone is.
I personally use Pink Pomelo
and you can just use a little bit of this color corrector
in any areas that have a little bit of darkness.
So if you have dark circles underneath your eyes
or any sort of discoloration on your eyelids
or around your mouth,
this is gonna be the step where you put on
just a little bit of product.
I'll put a little bit on my mustache area.
I just had a laser appointment last week,
but it's growing back.
I hate that, so I wanna make sure
that I am fully color corrected, just like that.
Then with a small little concealer brush,
I'm just gonna lightly tap over this color corrector.
I do not wanna blend it all the way out.
Obviously, the whole point of color corrector
is to target color correct specific areas.
So don't go in and start blending this all over your face.
Okay, you don't want it.
You wanna keep it concentrated
where you need the most coverage.
See how just tapping over this
literally erases any of that darkness?
Now my under eye just looks perfectly flat.
Exactly what we want.
Once you are color corrected,
if you have any blemishes that you wanna cover up,
like a red pimple that just will not go away,
okay, don't fear.
I promise we're gonna take care of it.
It happens to everybody.
My favorite concealer on planet Earth to use
is the NARS Soft Matte Concealer.
Okay, this is like 30 bucks.
I know it's a lot of money for this tiny little jar.
It sounds like a scam, but I promise you,
this is worth every goddamn penny, okay?
I've had this for like a year now.
I'm not even close to going through all of it.
This is literally the best concealer in the world
because it is so, so self-full coverage,
but it never looks cakey or nasty on your skin.
I have a little bit of redness down here.
I'm just gonna go in and tap right over top of it.
Literally, God.
This is literally the perfect product
to cover up any sort of redness,
any pimples, any blemishes underneath your foundation
so it'll truly be undetectable.
And it is kind of like self-setting as well,
so you don't need to do a whole routine.
You literally just put it on,
let it dry for a couple minutes,
and you are good to go.
I know that was a lot of steps to prep the face,
but I promise you, it's going to be worth it
when you see how beautiful this foundation looks
when it's all together.
Now it is finally time to cover all this ---- up.
For foundation today,
I would like to use the House Labs Triclone,
whatever the ****, Skin Tech Foundation.
This is such a beautiful, gorgeous product.
It is definitely medium to full coverage,
but still looks like your skin.
Okay, obviously this is full glam today,
but I will not let you guys walk into prom
looking like nasty textured vanilla cake mess,
no matter how much I love vanilla cake.
And I promise with all the color correction
and the prep work that we've done,
this is gonna be the perfect amount of coverage.
Now obviously, if you have a perfect foundation
that you use every single day,
it is your absolute favorite, use it.
Be my guest.
Just giving you guys the best recommendations, okay?
I'm gonna squirt a little bit out
onto my little mixing palette here.
I do fear that this color
is a little bit more tan than me,
but I know a lot of you guys
love getting a cute little spray tan
or a self-tanner on your skin before prom day.
So we're just gonna pretend
like the rest of my body matches, okay?
I'm gonna go in with my Painted Oversized Sponge.
This is included in your Painted Prom bundle.
What you're gonna do is take this out of the box
and you're gonna bring it to the sink.
Get it nice and soaking wet,
but then you wanna wring it out as hard as you possibly can.
You do not want any water left in the sponge.
See if I squeeze like this, nothing comes out.
It feels almost dry,
but when you add water to this, it doubles in size.
That way you get the softest and fastest application.
I'm gonna go in with the butt end of the Painted Sponge
and dip right into the foundation on my mixing palette.
And I'm gonna kind of bounce it around as well.
I want the foundation fully distributed
into the butt end of the sponge, just like that.
Not concentrated in one area
because I wanna make sure that when I'm applying this,
it's giving even coverage all throughout.
Then what I'm just gonna do is start lightly tapping.
Oh my God, this is way too ******* dark for me.
James!
Again, we're pretending like I have a spray tan, okay?
You know what?
Actually, we're just gonna do my neck first.
So it looks like it's a perfect match, okay?
I don't wanna hear any of you bitches
leaving me a nasty comment.
Now we go in with the butt end of the sponge
and we tap, tap, tap in.
Make sure it's nice and distributed
and we start going right in on the skin.
Oh my God, perfect match.
I'm so talented, look at that.
We're just gonna go in.
We're gonna tap lightly over top
of those color crafted areas, that concealer,
and see how this foundation is so beautiful,
but it's still a little bit radiant.
It looks like your skin, but perfect.
Like full on airbrushed.
We'll do this cheek as well.
Right over the chin, right over those pores,
and I'm not gonna go all the way up to that inner corner
or the corners of my eyes,
but I am gonna do a little bit on my nose.
With any excess,
I'm just gonna put it right onto my forehead.
I always like to save my forehead for last
because it is always the place on me personally
that sweats first whenever I'm hot.
Obviously, depending on where you are located,
if you guys have prom in Florida or California,
it has literally been 94 degrees here in LA
the last couple of weeks where I personally live,
and obviously it's just gonna keep getting even hotter
as the summer progresses,
so I don't want you guys to sweat off your makeup.
Even if you're in a slightly colder climate,
sometimes, I don't know where your prom is being held,
if it's at your high school gymnasium,
I don't know how good the AC is in there.
It might get hot with everyone dancing around
and having a great time,
so regardless, you wanna make sure your makeup
is gonna last all night long,
and the more face makeup you have on,
the greater chance you have of cracking,
creasing, or melting,
so I like to keep the forehead a little bit lighter
in coverage to prevent that.
Now, when you're blending your foundation,
don't forget your ears, okay?
Ears also get really red when it gets hot,
so you wanna make sure that those are fully covered,
and you also wanna make sure you get right behind your ears
at your jawline because this is also an area
that some people miss when they're doing their foundation,
and it is super, super obvious
if you don't have a perfect color match,
so just blend some foundation back there,
and nobody's going to ever know.
Now, you might think the next step would be concealer,
but instead, I'm going to do a little bit of contour first.
The reason I like to do contour
is sometimes you can get a little bit too crazy
with chiseling out your face,
so I like to kind of go too far first
and then fix it with a little bit of concealer afterwards.
It'll all make sense, just trust the process, okay?
Now, for contour today,
I want you to grab a cream contour stick.
Any contour stick will work.
I'm sure a lot of you guys have one
in your makeup collection.
I'm gonna use the Lunar Beauty
Bronzing and Sculpting Stick in the shade Medium Sky.
There's the Fenty Beauty contour sticks.
House Labs has some really great contour sticks as well.
Anything that can add a little bit of dimension
into your skin, and then what we're going to do
for our cheekbones, okay?
We're gonna draw a small line
from the upper corner of our ear, right over here,
down our cheekbone, just like that.
Okay, now, if you don't know where your cheekbone is,
feel it.
I want you to literally take your finger
and feel the side of your face, okay?
It's not called a cheekbone.
For funsies, there is an actual bone there,
so you will feel where the bone is,
and you're gonna place that contour line right above it,
so just right above that cheekbone, just like that.
Same thing on the other side,
corner of the ear, right above that cheekbone.
Then I'm going to take the butt end of my sponge
that has a little bit of that foundation on it.
I'm gonna give it a little squeeze.
Then I'm gonna start blending this contour upwards, okay?
You just put that at the base of your cheekbones,
so the last thing you wanna do
is start blending it downwards.
That's gonna create a nasty-looking,
like Lord Voldemort, weird shadow on your face.
It's gonna look like a beard, okay?
So we're gonna blend this upwards,
and that's basically going to give the illusion
of lifted, higher cheekbones,
and see how this paint and sponge
literally blends it out in like seconds?
Oh, so good, okay?
You wanna make sure you blend it out
in your hairline as well, just like that,
and then same thing on the other side.
Blend, blend, blend, lifting it upwards as you go.
Oh, look at that cheekbone, do you see that?
Oh, so good, okay?
Now, we put a little bit on our jawline.
Right there, right there, back there, and back there.
Gonna blend that right out,
and it's gonna create the illusion
of a super snatched jaw.
Now, we're gonna do a little bit on the forehead as well.
Obviously, if you have a larger forehead like me,
you can apply a little bit more.
I'm not being mean, we're just being honest, okay?
Us five heads have to stick together.
I need a little bit more help
than some of the other girlies
that have a gorgeous, tiny little rounded forehead,
so I'm just gonna do a little bit
in the outer corners, just like this,
and then once again, I will blend it in
using the butt end of my painted sponge,
just to add a little bit of dimension
and make sure everything is fully evened out,
just like so.
Last but not least, we will do the nose contour.
Now, I'm gonna go ahead and zoom you guys in a little bit
so we can really get into the details of the nose contour.
I'm gonna grab a small, angled, fluffy brush,
just like this, and I'm gonna dip
into that same contour sculpting stick,
and what I'm going to do is paint on some lines
on my nose, okay?
Now, when it comes to nose contouring,
see how when I look straight at the camera,
you can see the natural shadows of my nose.
It's here, and it's right here.
That is the anatomy that I was born with.
I do not have a rhinoplasty,
I'm just very good at faking one using nose contour.
What you don't wanna do is draw on those nose contour lines
on your actual nose anatomy.
That's just gonna make your nose look wider.
What we wanna do is fake it
so it looks like you have a super tiny nose bridge.
So instead of putting this brush all the way out here,
what I'm going to do is basically hold this
on the top of my nose, just like this,
and draw it directly downwards.
See how I completely ignored my actual nose anatomy,
which is out here, and it's on the top of my nose instead?
I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side,
on the top of my nose.
And see how I left this really thin negative space
right in the middle of my natural skin color?
That is what we are basically tricking the eye
into thinking is our real nose bridge.
You can pay a plastic surgeon a lot of money for this ----,
or you could just follow the James Charles tutorial, okay?
Then, with whatever's left on the brush,
you are not gonna leave it here.
Flip the brush upside down,
and we're gonna drag a little bit more of that contour
up and rounded into the front of our eyebrow like that.
It looks a little crazy, but this looks crazier, right?
This is all our nose, including this area up here,
so you wanna make sure that contour is seamless
and is actually connected to your real bone anatomy,
just like that.
See?
Perfect, okay?
There's nothing left on this brush, right?
So what we're just gonna do is use this
and really lightly tap over that lower edge
of the line that we drew to make sure it's nice and soft
and blended out.
We don't want it to look harsh,
but we do wanna keep that pigment there,
otherwise we lose the contouring work we just did, right?
So just tap, tap, tapping right over that edge
to softly blend it out.
And see, all of a sudden,
my fat nose is looking so tiny!
So frickin' tiny, okay?
Now, it's concealer time.
I'm gonna grab the Charlotte Tilbury
Flawless Airbrush Concealer.
I've been really, really enjoying this recently.
I am in the shade Too Fair,
for anybody who is a shade twin to me.
I'm gonna grab a little bit out of the tube.
I'm gonna wipe off any excess,
because we don't need a ton.
And what I'm going to do is place this
right in my inner corner.
Just gonna do a little triangle, just like so.
And then I'm gonna put a little bit
in this outer corner, too,
right up against the bottom of that liner.
With the pointy end of my painted sponge,
I'm gonna start going in,
and I'm going to tap, tap, tap this concealer.
Now, I'm gonna focus on the outer edges
of that kind of little blob that we put on there first,
because I wanna keep the most coverage
in this inner corner, right?
So I'm gonna tap, tap, tap,
and I'm gonna bring up any excess concealer
right up to my lash line.
Now, keep in mind,
we didn't put any actual foundation up here,
so it's gonna keep it nice and smooth
when there's only one layer of product.
Then, when I get to this outer corner,
I'm gonna keep the pigment up against that line,
and I'm just gonna blend out
this lower edge of that concealer.
That way, it's gonna trick the eye
into thinking that your face
is super, super lifted and snatched.
Like, oh, oh!
You guys asked for full glam,
you're getting full glam.
Then, with any excess left on the tip of that sponge,
I'm gonna go in,
and I'm gonna put this concealer
onto the edge of my nose,
going right up against that contour line
that we put on earlier.
This is gonna, again, trick the eye
into thinking that you have a really, really,
really tiny nose bridge.
I mean, come on.
Look at the difference!
Look at the difference, Diva.
Ooh, so good, okay?
Now, we're gonna do the same thing on the other side,
right up against that nose contour line
into the inner corner.
Then, any excess concealer
is gonna be brought right underneath the eye.
Ooh.
Ah!
I mean, hello?
Like, I can barely ******* breathe.
I'm so pretty, and you will be, too,
if you follow this prom tutorial.
Now, with a little bit more of that concealer,
we're just gonna do a tiny little dot
right on the center of the chin
and right in the center of the forehead,
just to bring a little bit of brightness
back to the face.
Nothing too crazy.
Blending that in.
And then, any excess concealer,
I'm just gonna put right underneath that contour,
just like that.
Look at how *******, ooh, so good.
Same thing on this side.
Now, our base is looking perfect.
It's time for blush,
which is, again, part of our Painted Prom bundle.
When you do the bundle,
obviously, the J15, the sponge, and the palette,
you get what you get.
But part of this bundle means you get to select
your favorite shade of painted blush.
I'm gonna use Pink Drink and a little bit of Snuggle,
which is finally back in stock,
our super light baby pink shade
that you guys have all been obsessed with.
But obviously, again, depending on your jewelry,
the color of your dress,
or your skin tone and undertone,
buy whatever blush shade you think
is gonna look most flattering on you.
I'm gonna grab my J15 dual-ended blush brush.
There are two ends to this for a reason.
This fat end up here is for the cream formula,
and the fluffy end down here is for the powder.
I'm gonna dip, dip, dip
right into this cream formula first.
Warning, if this is your first time
with a painted blush, welcome to the family.
These are extremely pigmented.
So before you go right into your cheek
and turn your entire face pink,
do a couple little taps of that formula
off onto your hand.
That way, it doesn't overload.
You can always add more.
It's a lot harder to take it away.
Just gonna do a cute little smile,
and you're gonna focus this blush
right on the apple of your cheek,
right in between that bronzer and that concealer.
You gotta kind of think of your blush
as like a transition shade.
And I'm just gonna lightly tap all around,
and this brush, as you can see,
literally does the work for you
of blending out that blush.
Oh, look at that.
So beautiful, okay?
Same thing again.
Tap, tap, tap.
And then right in, just right in between
that contour and that concealer
for a beautiful transition
and a little pop of pink.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.
And then, if you really wanna take it there,
I frickin' love using Snuggle
as a further transition shade
between my blush and the concealer.
Okay, think of like Neapolitan ice cream, right?
So, I'm gonna grab my Snuggle,
and I'm gonna grab another J14,
a really small, fluffy brush,
and I'm gonna tap into that cream formula once again.
And I'm just gonna put this right underneath my eye,
blending together the pink drink blush
and my under-eye concealer.
This is gonna give you that super lifted baby pink cheek.
Oh my God, like, I'm sorry.
Look at how gorgeous that is.
Right here, right under the outer corner of my eye.
It just looks so beautiful
and really helps kind of meld everything together
for that stunning pink under-eye.
It is time for powder.
Let's finally set this face in place, okay?
Best powder on planet Earth has to be Huda Beauty.
I don't know what Miss Huda put in this fuckin' formula,
but it really is the best of the best.
Personally, I love, love, love, love, love, love
the Cherry Blossom Cake,
especially if you're going for that super, super glam look.
That very slight pink tint
really just takes the glam to the next level
and helps blend together that pink blush
if that is the color that you happen to choose.
They have plenty of other colors that you can use as well.
If you have a lighter skin tone, they have Sugar Cookie,
which is like the kind of white, translucent one.
They also have plenty of shades for deeper skin tones too.
If there's any product, aside from the Painted Prom bottle
that I think you need to get, it really would be this.
It's that good.
I'm going to grab a powder puff, just like this, okay?
We're going to tap into that powder,
but you are not going to go right into your face.
You are just going to push that powder puff into your skin.
Of course, a little bit of the powder will leave,
but what this is basically doing
is making sure that the powder
is evenly distributed throughout that puff.
So when you go in and apply it to your under eye,
it is a perfect, smooth, even coverage all throughout
that gives you the exact amount of powder
that you actually need to set it in place.
I'm just going to start by tucking this right up
into my lower lash line,
because that is where I need the most amount of powder.
And then any excess that is left on that puff,
I'm just going to start tapping all over my face.
Now, obviously this is our full glam tutorial.
So if you've made it this far,
I'm assuming you're not afraid of makeup, okay?
We both know you need to set your face with powder.
I had to do a whole caveat in last year's video
because I know a lot of girlies out there
don't like to use setting powder.
If you are wearing this much makeup, you need it, okay?
So we're just going to make sure
that everything is super, super locked in place,
just like that.
And already off the bat,
look at how smooth and airbrushed this side of my face looks
in comparison to this one.
That literally looks like I have a *******
face tuned in real life filter.
So good.
Now, before you set your forehead or your under eyes,
if there's any light creases,
you just want to go in with the butt end of that sponge,
tapping over them,
because the last thing you want to do
is lock a crease in place, okay?
So smooth it out,
then go in with your setting powder and set it
while it's smooth for the best amount of coverage.
Then last but not least,
set your neck in place, okay?
If you had to blend your foundation
all the way down your neck,
which I hope that most of you will
to make sure that it really matches your entire body,
you need to lock this in place too.
Especially if you're living in a hot environment,
if it's going to be hot, if you're dancing,
make sure your neck is also locked in with powder, okay?
The worst thing you could do
is your face is fully matte, gorgeous, locked in place,
but then all of a sudden your neck
starts ******* melting all over your dress, okay?
Get a little bit more setting powder, pat it in.
Then with a giant fluffy brush,
we're going to grab just a tiny little bit more powder.
Okay, trust the process.
Then I'm going to tap off any excess.
You don't want anything too crazy.
Then I'm just going to use this
to brush off any excess powder that is left on my face.
We want to make sure this is fully locked in
and fully smooth, but we don't want too much.
Just enough so the foundation and base routine
that we just worked tirelessly on don't move around.
Gorgeous, okay?
We're almost there, we're on the home stretch, okay?
Now that we've set our face in place with powder,
obviously we have lost a little bit of that dimension.
So what I'm going to do is crack open my basic canvas
one more time.
Luckily, there are a lot of really great shades in here
that you could also use as contour, bronzer, and blush.
So I'm going to grab a fluffy brush
and a little bit of cookie dough and UV index
just to briefly go over some of those contour
and bronzing areas to make sure
that they are still fully defined.
Just a little bit at the cheekbones.
Ooh, like that, perfect.
Very subtle, very subtle.
Little bit underneath the jaw.
Of course the forehead as well.
And then last but not least,
a little bit on that nose contour as well
to make sure it is still fully chiseled out
and rhinoplasty-ed.
Then I'm going to grab just a little bit
of my favorite powder foundation.
This one is MAC Studio Fix,
literally the best of the best on the market.
If you don't have this in your makeup collection,
don't go buy it, okay?
I wish that I could recommend this to you.
They have completely changed the formula
and the new one ******* sucks.
They removed the talc,
which is literally why this is such a good,
beautiful airbrush setting powder.
If you do have this, great.
If you don't,
I don't know what to recommend you instead, honestly.
This is literally the best one ever.
Oh, oh, I know a lot of you guys have
the Charlotte Tilbury under eye powder.
That's a really good one.
We're just going to do a couple of little circles
right inside that powder.
Tap off any excess.
And I'm just going to use this right underneath the eyes
in that inner corner to brighten them up
and right up against that nose contour line
to add a little bit more coverage
and a little bit more snatch.
Ooh.
I will also say be careful, okay?
Because this is the one step that's going to take it
from looking like glam makeup to full-on drag.
And I am guilty of doing that.
I'm going to fix that.
I'm sorry.
You asked for full glam.
I'm giving you what you asked for.
A little bit on the center of the forehead as well.
And the chin.
Bitch, I am ******* hated.
Like, hello?
Hello?
Ooh.
Okay.
Now I'm going to grab my blush again.
Okay, the other end of the J15.
So the fluffy, powdery end.
We're going to dip right in.
A couple of little dips.
Tap off the excess.
And we're just going to put this again
right on that same cheekbone area
just to reinforce the colors.
So beautiful.
A little bit on this side as well.
Then a little bit of snuggle
just on the very, very top again
to blend everything together.
Oh my God.
Like, I'm so sorry.
Ugh!
Ooh.
Now we're going to do a little bit of highlighter.
Okay?
You guys know we're working on some painted highlighters.
They're going to be gorgeous.
They're going to be stunning.
Launching, hopefully, later on this year.
Who ******* knows?
What I do know is I want a little bit of glow.
Nothing too crazy.
But I'm just going to grab a little fluffy brush
and I'm going to dip into a pale champagne-y pink shade
just like this.
House Louds makes great highlighters.
Oh, Rare Beauty makes great highlighters.
I'm just going to put this right
on the very top of my cheekbone.
I don't want a ton.
Okay?
Just right here.
Just a little bit.
See how that creates a beautiful glow?
Same thing on the other side.
Just a little glow.
Okay?
Then my favorite hack.
Now I know that you guys don't have this
in your collections yet,
but if you happen to have a highlighter
that is like this color,
it really looks like a blush.
It's like a shimmery blush.
Okay?
I love dipping a big fluffy brush
into a shade like this
and using it as a transition
between that champagne-colored highlighter
and the pink blush.
This is almost like a transition shade
between them to help blend
and meld it all together
because this is going to add
a bit more radiance to your cheek
without it looking like full-on glitter.
It just adds like a little bit
of reflection and radiance.
It looks so healthy.
Then, last but not least,
I'm just going to grab a little bit more
of that same shade,
kind of mixing them together
for a little highlighter cocktail.
Tap off any excess,
and I'll put a little bit
right above my brow bone
for just a little glow
on both sides,
a little bit on the chin,
and then down the nose.
It's so beautiful.
So freaking stunning.
Okay?
There you go.
Now, we'll dip back into the basic canvas.
I'm just going to grab
a little bit of Finnegan,
and I'm going to use this
to highlight the center
of my nose bridge.
You're going to focus this
right in that negative space
between the two contour lines
to, again, fool the eye
into thinking that you have a rhinoplasty.
Ooh!
So creamy!
Right at the tip of the nose,
just like that.
Now, let's finish up
that lower lash line shadow.
I'm going to grab a little bit
of Cloud 9 and Finnegan,
and I'm just going to wrap this
right around that inner corner
of my eyeball
to make it nice and bright.
I love adding just a little tiny bit
of shimmer right underneath
that inner corner of the eye
because it really does bring
other people's eyes directly to yours.
With the same fluffy brushes
from before,
I'm going to grab a little bit of Oak,
tucking this right up
against that lower lash line.
We're going to keep it very soft,
not going too crazy.
We're going to leave the inner corner
of the eye blank.
You're only going to put the shadow
from like here to here.
Then, with that same liner brush,
I'm going to use a little bit
of Treehouse,
and I'm going to tuck this
right up against that lash line.
And in the process,
I'm going to connect it to the bottom
of that winged liner,
and that's going to really help
everything be super cohesive.
Look at that.
There we go.
See, very, very subtle,
but just kind of ties everything together.
Now, I do want to add a pencil
into my waterline.
Now, here you can choose.
I got a lot of questions from you guys.
How do I make my small eyes look bigger?
Or how do I make my big eyes look smaller?
Two very easy answers.
If you want small eyes to look bigger,
line your waterline using a white
or a nude eyeliner pencil.
If you want big eyes to look smaller
and super sultry and sexy,
you can use a black or brown liner.
Personally, I would recommend a brown,
I think a black liner for prom.
Little overboard.
If that's your vibe, no problem.
I would not recommend.
White, nude, brown.
Pick one of the three.
For my look, I always like my eyes
to look a little bit bigger,
so I went with white.
I just used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk,
and you guys can see,
before, after.
Huge difference.
Literally.
Finally, just a tiny little bit of mascara
right on those lower lashes.
We are so close to being done.
Okay, I'm gonna zoom you guys back in one last time.
We're gonna do the eyebrows.
Now, normally, you guys know,
I always do my eyebrows
kind of right before my eyeshadow,
but I've noticed when I save the eyebrows
for a little bit later on,
it helps put some guardrails around them
so they don't get too big or too thick,
because when you already have the eyeshadow on,
it balances everything out
and makes you realize
that you don't need a really thick, bushy brow.
I'm gonna use the new Anastasia Beverly Hills
Archer Brow Super Slim Pencil.
Gonna gel them in place.
I'm gonna use a little bit of my favorite brow gel.
This one is from Painted,
launching later on this year.
God, it feels so good
to be able to say that about so many products.
This brow gel is like ******* glue.
It's so good.
You guys are gonna be obsessed with it.
Just brushing them through
to lay the hairs exactly where I want them.
I'll let it dry for a couple of seconds.
While those are drying,
I'm gonna take a little makeup wipe,
and I'm just gonna clean off my lips,
just because I'm gonna have to do it eventually,
so might as well do it now to save some time.
And now we get to do the eyebrows, okay?
I'm just gonna start off
by filling in a little bit of the tails,
just extending them out a little bit
to balance the eyeshadow,
and then just tracing the very bottom line of that brow
just to give it a little bit of dimension
and separate it from the eyeshadow look.
But honestly, that's kind of all I really need.
Obviously, you guys can see I have very bushy eyebrows,
so I don't need a lot.
If you do need to fill in your brows,
feel free to continue doing so.
But personally, I think that I'm gonna stop there
because I want the brows, again,
to be a little bit more natural looking
so they're not so big and bulky.
The look is already glam.
We don't need to convince anybody, right?
I mean, gorgeous, right?
Like the brow is, oh, this one needs a little bit of work.
I lied.
We're so close.
Last step.
Thank God.
Lips.
Let's finish this off with a bang.
Starting off, lip liner, okay?
Always need a little lip liner.
I'm gonna grab just a cute little kind of toasty brown shade
and I'm just gonna go ahead and line my lips, okay?
So what we're gonna do,
we're gonna overline a little bit in the center
of the Cupid's bow.
But then I'm gonna connect it down to my actual lip corner.
Okay, like that.
Same thing on the lower lip.
Overlying just in the center,
then connecting it up to the actual real corners of the lip.
You can use your finger to smudge it out.
Beautiful, okay?
Just like that.
Then I'm just going to carefully clean up the edges
of that lip liner with a little bit of concealer
on a flat brush.
Then for the very center of my lip,
ah, I present to you vanilla batter cream.
Ha ha!
Our painted lip balms just launched last week.
Thank you guys again so much
for all of your love and support.
I cannot believe how many of you came onto the site
to shop and have added these to your collection.
Your order should be arriving to your house
within the next couple of days
and I literally cannot wait to see what you guys think
of the painted lip balm formulas.
Please, if you do any sort of unboxing or reviews,
tag us at Painted so we can see, repost, comment,
like, share your beautiful faces
and your gorgeous hydrated lips.
For me today, I'm going to use vanilla batter cream
lip balm because it is the perfect shade
of slight baby pink that I think is going
to flatter this makeup look absolutely stunningly.
The reason I'm choosing a lip balm as well
instead of a traditional bullet lipstick
is because at a lot of proms you might be eating
or of course you'll be yapping and talking all night long
so doing a regular lipstick could get kind of crusty
and nasty whereas a lip balm you could easily touch up
or reapply all throughout the night
and never have to worry about it.
So, perfect product for your prom makeup routine.
Oh, and it tastes absolutely amazing.
I don't know if there's a dessert table at your prom
but with this lip balm on,
it tastes like you're eating vanilla cupcakes
all night long.
Last but certainly not least,
we're going to do two setting sprays today,
both from one size.
Okay, starting off powder melt setting spray.
I love this ----.
It is a really, really, really beautiful setting spray
because we have done full coverage glam today.
A lot of powder, a lot of products, a lot of layers.
This setting spray not only locks your face in place
but it really helps to melt everything together
for a little tiny bit of that natural kind of radiance.
Okay, it's still going to be full coverage obviously
but it'll add just a little bit of shine
back to your skin, which we love.
Going to let it dry.
This looks like I have ******* like a Facetune filter on.
You know what I want to do as well?
I just thought about this.
Sorry, I'm going to take a little bit more pink drink
on a finger.
Yeah, yeah, perfect.
Pinkier, still tastes like vanilla buttercream.
There we go.
Okay, last but not least,
I'm going to use the Until Dawn setting spray.
This really is one of the best setting sprays on the market.
This is going to lock your ---- in place all night long.
If you're dancing, if you're sweating, if you're eating,
if it's hot outside,
this is going to be a great setting spray
to actually keep your prom glam on no matter what happens.
Hold your breath, close your eyes.
