In this second part of the restoration, I turn my attention to the heavily damaged frame, carefully rebuilding lost sections and restoring its original structure and detail.
At the same time, I explore a possible identity for the sitter, comparing the portrait to Lady Carew. Using visual analysis and facial overlays, we test the similarities… and ultimately uncover the truth behind the likeness.
This is where restoration meets investigation — and not every theory holds up.
