Now that I'm back to the program, I'm very focused on making the progress I should have.
So I'm working harder than ever, not just sticking to my diet, but I'm trying to do
everything I can to make more progress and to take my exercising to the next level.
Going out in public and putting myself out there is a big risk for me, and it's especially a risk
me going on my own like I'm doing because I've never been on my own and without help. I don't
drive, neither does my husband, so my chair is my best option to get me to the gym. Okay, see you
in a little bit. A lot of things could go wrong with me being out in public, especially being in
my wheelchair. It's a long ride, kind of scary going by myself, but it's going to be worth it.
I'm willing to do it and risk all that if it means I'm going to do better and make the progress I
need, and I think a gym is going to be something important for me to do my exercises. So I just
decided I'm going to try and do this on my own. Hopefully it turns out to be a good idea and not
something I can't handle. Hey, how you doing? Still nothing. Ready to get to work? Okay, let's go.
Awesome. You get the right, I'll get the rest. Okay, let's go.
So let's get your arms a little bit warmed up. Let's start with some of these. Let's go. Some of
these. Yep, big breaths. Doing all right? All right, getting nice and warm? Yep. Okay, we're
gonna try out these 12s. Oh yeah, there you go. Another shoulder presses. Oh yeah. Yep, two. Good.
Working out with a trainer kind of feels weird because I've never done it before,
but she seemed really nice. I think I'll like working with her.
Nice Shannon, nice. How you feeling? Tired already. Tired? That's okay, you're still working.
You're getting the job done. This is hard, harder than I'm used to, but I want to get better so I'm
not scared of being tough. And out, good, good, good, good. All right, nice. My muscles are sore
and I'm hungry, but I know this is what I need to be doing. Let's go. Oh give me some height,
give me some height. If these sessions lead to me being more mobile, then I'm here for it. That's,
I'm gonna do everything I can. I'm proud of you Shannon. I'm proud of me too. All right, you got
this. That's probably the most activity I've had at once in over the last 10 years, or more really,
but I feel really good about it because I'm pushing myself to do more and do better.
So I'm gonna keep doing this and work out two or three times a week, or maybe even more,
and I'm not compromising on my diet. My focus is 100 percent on getting to my goal,
and showing Dr. Now I'm ready to move ahead and get surgery, no matter what I have to do.
All right, Shannon. See you Monday. See you Monday. All right. Getting Houston to see Dr. Now, and I know
I did better this time. Okay, one, two, one, two. Go on. A bit further. Okay. Walker. Because of the COVID
restrictions, there still wasn't a clinic near me that would let me get weighed if I'm not a full-on
patient, but I was able to handle this trip all at once, and I told Dr. Now I could get on that scale
and show him. So I'm here to do that, and prove to him I'm committed to doing this, and finally get my
weight loss surgery. Miss Lowry. I have to do this. I have to. One, two, three. If I can't, Dr. Now's gonna say I didn't lose anything,
or make any progress, and then I'm not getting surgery. So I have to do this.
I have the progress. I know I do, but it's not gonna matter if I can't show it.
I'm gonna have to stand up again. One, two, one, two, three. I'm not gonna fit. I have to do this,
but I'm scared, and I'm too tired, and I don't know what to do. I can't get my other foot, you guys. I'm not gonna fit.
I have to get on that scale to get my weight, so Dr. Now can see my progress. Look at you now.
Absolutely. We got you, honey. There you go. Move this chair all the way.
Now place your hands, and we will start to rotate you, okay? You're there. You are there. Oh my gosh.
Come on. You got this. You got it. Okay, you got it. Can we move this? There you go. It's on. You're on.
Okay, great. You got it, Jim. 698. Okay, okay. Okay, let's get this. All right. First one, right here.
Okay, it's right there. Get there.
Got you. All right. Look at you. You did it. You rocked that. I thought I had more progress,
but I'm happy to show Dr. Now I did lose weight. Hopefully, it's enough. Ready? Two, three. There you go.
I'm just hoping that Dr. Now is happy with the progress that I've made.
Hello. Hello, doctor. How y'all doing? Doing okay. How are you feeling about the drive?
It was a little easier this time. All right, good. You lost some weight? Yes, sir. I have.
So this is a little over 40 pounds you lost over the last two months, which is at least some
progress. But you haven't lost enough like you should have. So that's still not good. I know,
and I'm going to do better. Well, what did you change last time? I haven't been snacking. I've
been doing my exercises and going to the gym. Well, if that's accurate, then you need to work
harder. Because at this rate, if you don't pick up the pace, it is more likely that you're going
to run out of time. Before you improve, you're healthy enough to prevent your body from giving
up. Yes, sir. Even though the trip was easier, I'm still concerned about how your body is handling
that strength. So from here on out, until you get under 500, I don't want you to make that trip back.
But if you'd make it down to that weight and you arrange to move to Houston, then we're going to
talk about next step and doing weight loss surgery. Okay, doctor. All right, good. And Simon,
I want you to do better and help her make more progress. Yeah, I'll do everything I can for her,
make all the changes that needs to be done. Okay, I hope so. So Sharon, the goal is still to lose
150 pounds in two months. Okay. And if you still haven't moved here in two months, then you need
to add on 30 pounds a month to your goal. You got that? Yes, sir, I do. And we're going to move down
here. Okay, great. But hopefully I'll see you all soon. But until then, if you need anything,
let me know. Definitely will, doc. All right, you all take care. I'm happy to see that Shannon's
finally started making some progress on her own, but her body isn't going to be able to hold out
long enough if she continues to only lose at this rate. So it's very important. Shannon
started making a lot more progress now and moves to Houston. Because at this point,
we're not going to continue with her until she makes that move here. But if she does move here,
then we'll continue to work with her at that point. But we're still not going to be able to
move ahead and do anything for her that will make any long-term difference for her until
she starts to lose more and show me she's willing to do what it takes to succeed at this long term.
So she still has a lot to do before she's truly on the right track and not a lot more time to
waste to do it. But at this she started to move in the right direction this time. Hopefully she
continues that and doesn't wait too much longer to do what she needs so we can move ahead with her.
This trip's actually been an encouragement for me.
